  • roll call - sunday 9/14

good morning, STAC-ers! how's everyone doing?

I'm super nervous, I'm trying out for a roller derby league tonight. wish me luck!

I resisted cadbury hazelnut chocolate, amazing italian bread, and dried apricots last night, I feel I deserve a medal! LOL! everyone was having somewhat carby alcoholic drinks, and I stuck with soda water. that was actually a tough one. what kept my will up was remembering that trying those things, just a little, may knock me right out of ketosis. I don't want to have to restrict like crazy again (well for awhile anyway, lol).

Roller derby ... how cool is that?! And congrats on sticking with the fizzy water ... good for you

Just a quiet day on the homefront; too hot to be outside much. Just polished off a nice Greek-style salad with green leaf lettuce, feta cheese, plum tomato, olive oil and deli turkey (that wafer-thin deli-style stuff ... it's probably not even real turkey. What's it made out of, I wonder? Yak? Recycled plastic? Probably best we don't know :P).

Re: roll call - sunday 9/14

            Hi,

I am back after a few years. I have been struggling with a huge medication induced weight gain for about 2 years now and I am determined to get it done this time. I have been doing induction on and off for the last two years with NO weight loss. At times, I have done induction for 30+ days with no results (most probably due to the meds- which I no longer take) . I think the havoc the meds caused my body may be over as I lost 5 pounds or so this summer without doing anything. I am here to really give it a big push as this WOL was so great for me the last time - weight just fell off. This time, NOTHING.

I think maybe I just need the support of reading all of the posts from this board to help me stay the course even when I am not losing. I went grocery shopping for the right foods, cooked some stuff for lunches this week, made a ticker to get me motivated and am making myself eat (which I don't do enough of - probably part of the problem as well).

I am really inspired by the athletic activities I have been reading about here - triathalons, roller derby, etc. I watched the Olympic Women's Marathon and was inspired by the winner being 38. At 42, I have just not been as active as I should be and you guys make me want to get out there and get going.

Thanks a bunch for the great posts I have been reading today!
            Tracy

Re: roll call - sunday 9/14

Happy happy happy Ike is past, hurricanes suck. The worst came through around 5 pm yesterday and the power went down. Power was just restored a while ago.. made for a very long night and day. We had a baby shower to go to, you know what that means! I ate some mixed nuts.. that is it. Ate cheese omelets for two meals, still had gas, just had to cook in the dark. Then a big salad for dinner, and some leftover steak slices.

I did manage a brisk 3 miles this morning too.. nothing else to do!

Hope the triathalon and roller derbies all are blasts, and welcome to returning Atkineers!
