Ok, so this is somewhat of a weird question...does anyone else's toes get numb while you're on the elliptical? If so, have you been able to do anything or know of anything that will help? I find that I'm going along just find and then about 1/2-3/4 of the way into a workout, my toes get numb and it's really distracting! Any advice/help would be great! (Maybe I've just got weird toes!

YES!! I've wondered the same thing. Its almost the same for me. It is my whole foot but I do get numb. It happens at about 30 mintues and it can make it tough to continue. I did get new sneakers because it got so bad I couldn't continue. The new sneakers helped and I try to make the laces not as tight. It improved it but it still happens just on a lesser scale.

I get this more on the cycle than the elliptical, but I know exactly what you are talking about. I was wondering if I needed to change the seat position, but that doesn't seem to help!

Yep - one of the cons of using an elliptical.

2 years ago, we bought a Precor elliptical for home. I used it religiously and every day, the balls of my feet would go numb. I asked my trainer about it and she said that because your foot is in a stationary position, the weight/pressure put on your feet causes them to become numb. I used that elliptical for 1.5 years, until we sold it in Dec - my numbness never went away.
Now, I run, walk, stairclimber, or do some other type of cardio, where my feet are moving and I don't get the numbness.

I used the elliptical faithfully prior to my weight gain; Of course I should have kept exercising. Anyway my feet would burn after about 20 minutes. I mean on fire! Has anyone ever encountered that?

Try lifting your feet up off the machine from time to time, it's difficult, yes but... some times it will allow blood flow to get in there and relieve that discomfort

With your foot stationary, I get the same thing. I try to go up on my toes or back on my heels once in awhile. I alsostop and shake my foot out once in awhilw. a shoe with a big toebox and looser laces help but it still happens.

YES...it happens all the time. I like to reverse it for 5min. It also helps with the front of the leg. insead of moving foward every once in a while reverse the cycle...its a little harder but helps with the toe numbness....which i also hate. good luck

lol you're toes aren't wierd at all. It happens to me too. I will wiggle my toes periodically while I'm on the elliptical and it seems to help. Or even picking up your feet from their position (stepping into the foot pad with the rotation)

I too am a member of the Numb toes club! every time I work out with my eliptical, the same thing happens. I like that idea of reversing my direction--I think I'll give that a shot tonight

I have been doing alternating lifting my heels and lifting toes while on the elliptical, and it helps very much.
