Good morning STACers. I've been here, but just checking in.
I've been training with a group of women doing their first triathlon this saturday. Yeah it's almost here. They are all young and in great shape!
I am also coaching 5 overweight women in a 6 month journey to fitness in a program our church started called "Project Fitness".
As the coach, I've been able to pick the place and type exercise we do. I take them over to our clubhouse treadmill and weight room. It was there that I began my journey with fitness that eventually led me to triathlons.
Daily treks over to the treadmill walking and eventually jogging. Other days I dragged my stationary bike out and rode it. The point was "daily" progress in the exercise and movement arena of my life. Now it is the core of my day!
I am also studying to become certified as a trainer.
I tell all my girls, it's the half an hour a day that made all the difference in the slow turning of this big ship. My life was like a huge ship that way sailing in the wrong direction, but turning it took so much effort, I almost always quit before it was turned. Eventually I got so tired of half turns and quarter turns that I hung on for dear life and kept turning. My life is totally going another direction now! Because I did not quit, I just kept working and pressing towards my new direction. Eventually the ship turned and the sails filled with new life and air and I've begun to really move!
Our out of control food life and issues can be slowly, one day at a time, turned around!
