    This whole ketoese thing has me crazy. I lost 4 lbs and thats it. Im annoyed because i finnaly gave up the wine thing and still at a plateu. So im gonna give it one more week (because i feel funny with out veggies, not sick just dosnet seem right....) then if im still haveing a problem after next weekend Im starting the fat flush. Just wanted some honest feedback and also food suggestions for the flush and encouragemnt.

    try just adding 'a lot' more fat into your diet for a few days ... and eat your veggies, cause if you dont your body cannot digest the protein.

    I didnthe fat fast.. i lost a couple pounds, then gained it back .. but i did learn that i need to eat a lot of fat to keep my weight moving down..

        Are you not eating vegetables? You say you feel funny without vegetables. We eat a minimum of 3 servings of veggies a day in the most restrictive, initial diet phase. Is it possible you have an 'old' (pre 2002) Atkins book?

          what i ment by feeling funny is that it would be strange for me not to have a veggie everyday. Has nothing to do with my phyical being. Anyway....can i have tomatoe juice? there is only a few carbs in it? I eat tomatoes. Thanks for the advise too

            Tomatoes are a higher sugar food, better left for the less restrictive phases. It only takes a very few ounces of tomato juice to get a few carbs! Tomatoes are fine, they are a 'one cup' veggie, so no more than a cup.. not that a person is too likely to overeat tomatoes.

            Fat fast is dangerous for anyone but the most metabolically resistant. Upping the fat, however, as has already been mentioned will always help get you into ketosis and burning fat, as long as carbs are low. It is the ratio, not just the numbers, high fat to low carb.

              when you guys say a lot of fat, and have more fat, how much do you mean, like pig out on sausages and cheese? what about the daily amount limitations, do we ignore those or just add little bit of meat to our lunch dinner and break and tea etc?

                If you arent losing try lowering your protien alittle. I know when i get too much protien i dont lose or i gain.

                  i was on mini plateu and what i ended up doing with the fat is adding full fat cream cheese to celery...its soooo good. also i have been puting heavy cream in my decaf coffee then eating mainly meat, ohh and it doesnt say we can have brie but i eat it everyday and im in dark purple losing a lb everyday. good luck

                    No, adding more fat does not mean you have to "pig out on sausages and cheese". You can increase your fat intake by adding more olive oil to your salad, frying the meat in some oil (I only use olive oil), eating an avocado, or having an omelet in the morning instead of boiled eggs. The cheese should stay at 4 oz max, and most of us also have to be careful with the amount of sodium we eat (sausages have tons!).
