    Good morning STACers.
    Up very early today, off to train a gal on the bike! She is on the bike, I am in full blown detox and will not have the energy source to get up that hill. Thankfully I know this.
    I "know where I am"...having done Atkins so long, I know where i am in the whole first week, and detox. Because I know where I am, I can actually use that knowledge to my advantage and stay calm and patient with the place I'm in. No need to tax my system.
    You see my friend is training on the bike this morning, and I love this as my primary form of exercise. The intensity is not something I could manage this morning until I am further along in the shift of my body burning fat.
    So, I will smile and refrain from the ride, but will drive along and support her efforts. She has never been up this hill and I have! Plus this allows me to coach better!

    Know where you are, and use that knowledge to put yourself in the best possible situations with food. Be smart, keep the upper hand, stay focused, you are in control!

    Good Morning -

    Off from work today to get some much needed appointments out of the way - and hopefully sneak in some extra time at the gym this afternoon before the kids come home from school

        I'm here Getting the kids ready for school, instead of my usual fleece pants, baggy t-shirt to drop them off... today I got up, took my shower and put on some jeans and a nice shirt. My daughter was quite impressed lol. I'm out of my comfort zone since the jeans actually fit (instead of my baggy fleece pants).

          Have the day off & have several appointments. Hoping to get some much needed rest~~I'm exhausted. Food & H20 intake okay. Will go for a walk this afternoon & enjoy the beauty of fall here in New England.

              I'm here today and back on plan, hopefully for the final time. Have a good day all!
              1st Goal ~ 199 Onderland -Met 3/29/10
              2nd Goal ~ 174 No longer obese
              3rd Goal ~ 150 In the home stretch
              Final Goal ~ 145 or below (I'll know when I get there) No longer overweight

                Day 4 for me.. I am feeling better and better each day.... I too understand what you are saying Jess.. Day 2 I thought my head was going to explode and I kept telling myself you know this will be over soon.. Yesterday I was in an eat everything that wasn't tied down mode..and I knew that would get better..

                So tomorrow is my daughter's boyfriends birthday..and we are going to his house for dinner.. Well he is doing the Blood Factor Diet.. It is even more strict then what we can have on Atkins... So of course I am bringing the Salad and they are having Chicken Parmesean that has a Rice Flour on it.. I am going to take some left over pot roast I have for me... Oh she is using bread made with spelt flour. I was suppose to make a Broccoli Salad but I am not going through what all they said to use... Its way too expensive to make if I can't eat it...

                    I'm awake, that's as good as it gets this morning. LOL!

                    I made an awesome roast with gravy last night! I was going to make oopsie rolls, but just ran out of time.

                        Still blazing hot down here in louisiana have a busy morning/afternoon planned - have a carport full of stuff to price for a garage sale this weekend-- wondering why I didnt just haul it all somewhere- (we just moved into new house end of July and about 1/5 of our stuff didnt make the move with us) ughh it is going to be hot out there -

                        also going to try out a new workout dvd that I got for the stability ball before kids come home from school... whew!

                          Wow, I'm glad I looked on this day's check in, I did not check in on this day b/c of school. I totally hear what you say, Jess, about self knowledge, and self knowledge in this plan. You know something that Dr. Atkins says, "For consistent success, you must interpose the strict Induction phase between your weight gain and the eventual return to Lifetime Maintenance." pp. 214-215 There are several paragraphs there under Lifetime Maintenance that speak to the idea that Dr. Atkins pretty much expected most of us to have intermittent weight gain.

                          He advocates in one other place that if you've got an upcoming event where you're likely to overdo it, to pre plan by cutting back your carb count for several days before the event.

                          Why am I reading this chapter, and suggesting others read it, when I just started OWL? Because I'm trying to gain some guidance and knowledge that I can turn into self-knowledge as I learn by doing...

                            Just thought I would check in before heading off to bed. Did a late night workout, as I was busy the whole day working. I was determined to get in that workout today, as I took a rest day yesterday, and I'm so glad I did. I really feel great, tired.....but great. Now I can have a good sleep. Till tomorrow....
