    WOOPS, FRIDAY 9-26!!

    Good morning All, hope everyone is having a Fine Friday. Yesterday was a difficult day but I seem to have recovered my spirits today. Thanks to everyone who offered their encouragement. I've gotten started on OWL this week and it's going pretty good. I've raised my carb count by about 4g per day. Don't know if it's affecting my weight loss per the scale, b/c it's my PMS week so I'm not weighing until probably October 5 or so. So I'm going to stay at this level of OWL until then. I still have a sense that I am losing, I can't really put it in words, it's a feeling in my gut, an actual physical sensation. Anyway, I hope everyone has a great Friday and has plans for good R&R for the weekend...

    Goal 3: Walk, exercise bike, golf, or yoga 15-30 min, 3x/wk. Consistency counts more than anything.

    DON'T START OVER, GO FORWARD!

    I get that sensation too. I wake up just knowing I am lighter. Glad you are on the upswing!

    I don't know if you have read any John Gray ( Mars and Venus books) but he writes that women have a mental cycle that is like a wave. We climb to peaks of feelings of emotional well-being, then fall into troughs, and have to sort of hit the bottom of the wave to rise again. I try to remember that when I am in the 'well' of the wave, that I will be climbing soon enough. Seems to work.

    Off to eat, quilt, dance, clean, get busy on my day off!

      Morning!!

      Kids screaming and fighting already - Super swell morning!

      Going to spin class this morn - My tailbone is super sore, but hoping that it will numb out after riding for a while.

      I have nothing exciting, no great thoughts, no words of wisdom...

      I hope everyone has a fabulous Friday and an awesome weekend!

        Good morning all. I'm off to a late start this morning, slept right through my wake up call. I have a challenging weekend and few days after ahead of me. Lots of dinner parties & luncheons for the next 4 days. I have to make sure I do plenty of workouts during that time, and mentally plan out what I will be eating when I'm there. Wish me good luck everyone, and have a great weekend!

          Hello everyone! For all of you dealing with hormonal swings and screaming rug rats, I salute you ... being post-menopausal and sans kids, I am experiencing neither, but you have my sympathy and support, nonetheless

            TGIF! I'm actually off work today and slept until noon, something I never do, I always get up the same time every day of the week just out of habit. But I must have needed it as I'm withdrawing from the evil carbs. Its day 3 and I woke up with a touch of induction flu, so decided to grab my ketostix out of the closet and sure enough I'm reading in the "slight" range. Add to that 3 pounds down for day 3 and I'm feeling great about being back on this woe. Have a great Friday all!

            2nd Goal ~ 174 No longer obese
            3rd Goal ~ 150 In the home stretch
            Final Goal ~ 145 or below (I'll know when I get there) No longer overweight

              Just popping in for a second. We've moved to Florida and are still getting settled. Not being the best Atkineer right now...oops...but hope to get back on track soon.

                  Hello All :

                  It's a quiet Friday at work - that's good and bad! It's nice to be able to take a breather .. but the day crawls by!

                  I am struggling with the scales - I've been over the "hide the scale, get off the scale, measure" bit in my head a thousand times.. LOL

                  My weight fluctuated by 3lbs today .. I was at a new low (for this time around)yesterday, then today I was 3 lbs heavier - YIKES! That's a lot of water or Broccoli *grin* My diet hasnt changed and I know it's impossible I gained that much fat in one day.. but c'mon what a let down! LOL

                  I never know whether to record my weekly low on Fitday or just plug in what I weigh on Monday mornings.

                  Drinking extra water today hoping to flush it out, litterally

                    good almost-afternoon!

                    having a boring work day, which is unnerving considering I've been here for 2 hours out of the last 2 days. stupid sore throat.

                    I have derby practice tonight and we finally start contact drills! yay/yikes! ha!

                      I know I already posted my check in for today, but I had to post again. I mentioned in the last post that I thought ketosis had set in based on a touch of inuction flu (which is gone now) and my ketostix.

                      But since I've been up a couple more hours I've noticed something else. It's like a calming of my entire body inside and out. My digestive track isn't rumbling like it always seemed to do before, I don't feel gassy or bloated, no indigestion or acid reflux. My nose isn't sniffly, my airways are clear. I actually feel GOOD inside my body for the first time in a long time.

                      I just had to write this to remind myself how good it feels to get all those nasty excess carbs out of my body incase I ever forget what it was like before.

                        Hi all. I'm babysitting my 5 month old granddaughter today so life is good! She's a joy to be around.

                        The diet is going well. I just moved up to rung 7, fruit, and had some concord grapes off our arbor yesterday and they were so good. No fruit today though.

                          Hi,
                          I am Kathie & new to the boards. My husband & I started our Atkins return on 9/15/08. We are finding this time around that our induction phase is slower going then previously. It helps to be able to read that others have had the same experience. We are doing our best to support each other although we already have a cheat day planned for his birthday on this coming Tuesday. My husband thought since we were celebrating on Tuesday, we might as well go do wings & beer on Sunday so he can watch his football game. I told him if he goes, I will wait at home for him, I CAN NOT afford to make excuses to cheat. I will give in on his birthday & I have made it clear to him that come Wednesday, I am back on track. We are also exercising more this time around. We have reached our 1st plateau and as always are a bit discouraged, however, I know that if we keep supporting each other we can blast past it. (I will be working on him between now & Sunday to see if I can't work out something that won't blow his game or his diet). Wish us luck!
