  • Roll call 10-06 Monday

    Good morning STACers.
Hope you are all ready to start off a great week. Staying focused and developing a lifestyle will help you as you cross over into new levels. Remember Atkins is a 4 stage diet. I recently was speaking about children's fitness at a women's seminar and along with me was a fitness trainer, who was discussing nutrition. I told her I had lost all this weight and found a whole new life on Atkins. She remark it was her "least favorite diet of all time"...how terrible to not eat carbs...I explained I did eat carbs, good carbs, carbs you slowly bring back on phase 2 of this diet. She said to me,
"Oh so you are one of the people who did it the right way?"...

Do it the right way, not your way. Take the steps of learning to deal with food and manage yourself because not everybody makes it. Those who make this a life style have the best chance of maintaining the lifestyle they create...The best way to do this is the long and slow way, so you change....

    Re: Roll call 10-06 Monday

I ordered and have been reading 'Atkins for Life.' There is a comprehensive menu plan for many days, broken down into eating '45 carbs' or 60, or 90, etc. My goal is to get to my goal weight and be a 'regular exerciser' which should give me a CCLL of something near 90. The 'Life' book give you an idea of just what that allows you without derailing you. Whole grain breads! Fiber One cereal! Fruit! Chili! The Fiber One cereal even fit into a '45 net carb' day. I think it is a great book to help visualize Life Beyond Induction, and realize this does not mean you will never have another sandwich!

Anyway, Jess's mention of stages reminded me of what I was learning in the book. I don't think I will every want cake or cookies...I want fantastic homemade breads filled with sprouted grains and oats and flax.

I am sitting here petting my hand bones. I have lost some of the fat layer on the backs of my hands and can feel those delicate, amazing bones under the skin. I put on a size 14 jean skirt I bought a few weeks ago yesterday, and wore it to work. It was snug around the waist, admittedly, I risked it because the waist button seemed well sewn, and had no problem. Everything on Atkins, is just the best feeling!

Anyway, just getting going with my day, I worked 3 shifts in two days this weekend, so am a little thrown off and need to get in a groove. Nice to come and visit with you all, everyone have a fabulous day!

Good Morning All. Another Monday morning to contend with. I've been sick with a bad cold all weekend, and have not been able to work out, as I have little to no energy, and I'm hacking away, with this bad cough. The scale has not moved the whole weekend, must be all that extra fluid in me! Hopefully by the evening,I will be able to get in a workout, maybe not a too vigorous one. Have a great Monday all!

        Good Morning,
I walked/jogged 3 miles this morning. Since I homeschool I am making my kids go with me and we call it PE. I want to work up to jogging the entire way. My kids are all in good shape and inspire me to keep moving.

Ugh Monday - I'm struggling emotionally - but doing OK staying on plan. I got delt a blow last week that an upcoming promotion will not be happening due to economic constraints. My usual way of dealing with things like this would be to bury myself in junk food

I keep trying to tell myself that all my hard work with this woe - food and Exercise included WILL payoff. But when life gets messy - that crystal clear vison of a thinner - healthy me, gets real cloudy!

Anyhow - I'm on track, chugging my water and looking forward to my lunchtime walk on the waterfront here in CT

Hope all are doing well today

            Good morning everyone

I'm still on track. Glad to hear everyone else is too.

I'm trying my best to eat right today. I need to cut down on sodium. I also need to start cooking again. I've been slacking off lately. I'm just SO tired!

Hi everyone. Good morning. I'm here. Tired but here.

Outback Jess, that post you made above (I can't figure out how to quote something yet) really made me think.

Yesterday was my first day out of induction and I struggled so hard with the food addiction (not cravings just addiction) that to keep myself from diving into my husbands hershey filled halloween pumpkin that my subconscience has been eying I made the no bake lemon cheesecake recipe from lindas low carb site. Which is not at all what we're supposed to do at the end of induction.

I want to be one of those people who do it the right way too. I'm just having a hard time getting the rest of me to want to do things the right way as well.

(This is just my first goal. I got lots more to lose.)

I'm here! nobody answered my q in another thread about what to eat for endurance while on atkins, booo. I need to know! I guess I should just start a thread.

I made a flourless chocolate cake on the weekend that's to die for. it's almost black, it's so chocolatey. plus, a TINY square is enough. first time I've ever said that about anything chocolate related!

I fell really badly last night at derby practice. my back is killing me today.

                    Re: Roll call 10-06 Monday

I've decided I need to start posting again. I got discouraged for a while because I seemed to be gaining and losing the same two pounds. I started a notebook and have been writing down everything I eat. It's been helping. I've noticed that the 3 sweetener limit is there for a reason. And that I do better if I eat fat, like butter and cream cheese, than if I don't. Oh, and that eating after 7 pm isn't good for me.

I've also been recording how many days I've been cheat free. My goal is to make the whole month of October cheat free.
