  • All my food in a BOX in my frig

THIS TIME around I planned ahead!
I boiled all my weeks worth of eggs. I set up my special hamburger patties. I loaded up on snacks. I put my week's worth of food in a box in the frig marked "Skinny Mommy". I am to strictly take from this box only and I try not to look at anything else in the frig.
I got an excercise cd (turbojam) and ready to go hard core this time around.

Preparation might actually save me this time.
And if I fall again, I am not going to put off getting back into the saddle. I am just going to start right back in.

    I can.
    I will.
    I can.
    I will.

No one plans to fail, but may fail to plan. You have bypassed that big problem! Enjoy your box, and your new 'end!'

LOL I have done the same thing except I have taken over one of the drawers in the frides. No one eats from it but me!
I also have the very back corner of the top shelf for things like Westsoy milk and atkins shakes. That way I don't use that stuff too much and they don't see it and suck it all up before I can enjoy it!

DLS, how do you keep them out of it? That is the angriest that I get at my husband--I look over and he'll have a donut in one hand and one of my homemade low carb cream cheese muffins in the other hand.

Or a Twinkie in one hand and a hunk of cheddar cheese in the other. I use to fry up a pound of bacon at the time and store it. He eats it.

Of course I wouldn't care if he were doing a low carb woe, it's just that he bothers me the way he eats up my food. I hate having to hide my food from my husband of all things........

My Husband was upset the other night, for dinner I made two steaks, Steamed Broccoli and a Ceasar salad, He wanted to know "why he had to eat like me" Who could complain on that dinner.

Guess my husband and kids are different. If it ain't bad for you then they do not want it.

"Skinny Mommy" ... I like that!

I'mReady, that dinner sounds delish! I serve my hub the same meal I make for myself, but add potatoes, bread, etc to his. He's eating a lot more green salad then he ever did before, for sure! He's losing some weight despite himself

He wasn't complaining after he ate.... I sould have mention that..

I don't want him to lose any weight, he is 6'4'' and only 180-190 down from 215 since he works outsie all day long with his mowing business.
I wish it was that easy for me.

I love to fry up bacon and hamburgers and stick them in baggies and have them waiting on me.
Ever since I discovered the oopsie roll on here I am ENJOYING my breakfast and lunch much more.

                      Kelly,
If they mess with mine then they can fix their own dinner! I won't do anything non-Atkins for them if they want what I have. But honestly I haven't had any trouble. I have gotten them to try several things that are legal for me to eat and some they like and some they don't. But they never just go into my drawer. In fact my hubby will turn down a cheese cloud because he says there are so few things I can snack on that he doesn't want to take them away from me. What a sweetie!
I also precook things and store it in there. Like this morning I cooked 2 lbs of bacon in the oven (don't like to fry it). I served them some with eggs and an english muffin for breakfast and had an entire ziplock full for my drawer. I knew the smell of it cooking would make them want some so I made extra for all to enjoy.
I really don't have a problem with getting them to eat the way I do except I don't limit their bread, cereal and such like I have to do.
I wish you success with this problem. I think you should just tell them, if you love me you would respect that I am trying to do what is best for me so I can be around a lot longer (to care for them of course). So please stick with what you can eat and leave mine alone. Or else!
                      Good luck!

Re: All my food in a BOX in my frig

I don't mind sharing. Not at all. It's when he has sugar/carbs in one hand and legal Atkins snacks in the other that I want to snap out on him. Then when I go for a snack, it's all gone. But, of course, there are plenty of Twinkies and donuts.

My husband is very, very selfish. He eats what he wants, when he wants and if I were to say something to him about eating "my" food, he'd tell me how crazy I am for getting mad over a couple of celery sticks.

Re: All my food in a BOX in my frig

                          Kelly,
I know you aren't being selfish. But you know what, sometimes you just have to take care of YOU! That's it. I'm sure you bust your booty, (to put it nicely) for your family all the time. It's time they show YOU some respect.
Here is another idea. Everything you have in your box, just fix some more of it and put into "their" part of the fridge. That way it is accessible to them yet not from what you can ONLY eat from. That way you can also keep tabs on when you are running low on something and yet not "deprive" them from having what you have.
Or hey, since hubby seems to want to do the Atkins, then just buy Atkins friendly stuff the next time you do the grocery shopping. No twinkies! Instead buy extra celery or cheese, or bacon! That way the whole fridge will be full of wonderful stuff YOU can have!
I hope I'm not coming off like a "you know what", because truly I'm not that way. But I find that respect and love go hand in hand. You have made your wishes known. You have let them know that this is your choice to do this for YOU. They need to repsect YOU. To appreciate YOU.
I wish you the best. I really do. I know things will get better once the newness has worn off for them.

                          Good luck!
