  • I did EXACTLY what I said I wouldn't do.....

    ARRGGHHHH! Ok So I'm on my third day of Induction and I of course weighed myself the first day, then last night I decided to weigh again (just to see if there had been a change yet) silly I know. So I was EXTREMELY excited when it was down 4 Lbs already in only a few days ( I know its water wieght but still counts right? ). Then I step on the scale this morning to be mortified.....went back up 3 lbs. WHAT?!?! . Now I'm only down 1 Lbs. I told myself not to get wrapped up in the scale because it messes with me big time. It makes me want to quit like I did last time when I wasn't seeing BIG results. I know in my head that I shouldn't take this too seriously but it is still SOOOOO frustrating. I just don't understand why it went back up from the night before to the morning with such a big difference. Shouldn't it be lower since I did it first thing in the morning? ARGHHHHH. But I made a promise to myself not to give up so easily this time. I just don't want to be a scale freak. It messes with me mentally. *Sigh* Anyone go through the same thing?

    Girl...I do the same thing...I put my scale away so I wouldn't be so tempted. #'s aren't as important (okay yes it's nice to see the numbers go down) as feeling awesome on this WOE and your clothes getting baggy!!

      heck yea! do yourself two favors...

      take your measurements and then keep track of them regularly (but not obsessively)

      remember that weight loss is NOT LINEAR....i know lots of people who lose steadily but there are lots of us who lose up and down but all in all...you'll be going down

      work the program and it will work for you! promise!

        Scales are EVIL! Seriously, don't let that mechanical beastie ruin your day ... put it away for awhile, stay on the program, and you'll do fine!

          I'm with FLdoodette- put that thing away; better yet, throw it away. If you will be faithful to do this plan you WILL begin to feel and see results.

            Ok so now I have this imagine of me throwing my scale out into the street cursing it out loud and then going over to it and stomping the heck out of it and then turning around to go back into the house while my neighbors just stare at me. LOL. Now I feel better, thanks!

              Probably water retention b/c of exercise or your salt intake.
              I understand your addiction to the scale, but you've got to break it; otherwise, it'll drive you insane. I'm addicted to my scale and I'm away from home, it's killing me that I haven't been able to weigh myself these past to days!
              We'll get through this and be okay. Just remember that the scale shouldn't be your motivation for losing weight b/c it can be frustrating and you could potentially lose momentum if you're bummed b/c of the scale readings.

                      I would pay to see a police report from a woman bashing her scale being domestic violence!! I'm too scared to break mine (it's glass) to even think about taking out aggression on it... even when it told me I went down 2.5lbs yesterday, then back up 2 today. Bastard.

                        by the way, do you have a digital scale or a spring load scale?

                          Now this is where it gets funny because I have both!!!! Yep! I used a regular scale the first time I did Atkins and it worked like a charm. Now I have this digital one and I could get on 4 times in a row and it would read 4 different weights. Talk about a mind scramble. So now I pulled the old one out of storage and have been using that. Its much nicer to me! I don't think I will beat this one up.

                            lol, yeah, normally it's the opposite! My spring loaded one would have anywhere from a 2 pound to a 10 pound difference weighing within moments of each other, sounds like your digital one is like my old spring one lol.

                            I have a health-o-meter one digital one that I got from walmart really inexpensive and it's dead on for weighing not only multiple times in a row but it's dead accurate to a doc's scale too so I love mine but if you're getting a spring load one that's accurate just go with it!
