If you are new to working out, work out in small steps, 20 mins is a great beginning. If you can use a stationary bike or elliptical, to allow for weight baring. Take a walk in the cool weather. Go for 20 mins. Create steps that you can sustain in your life.
I use to think more is BETTER. But i have come to the conclusion to do enough to make progress, but also enough to keep me coming back. Sustaining efforts. You can't knock yourself out for a couple of pounds, and find yourself so sore and discouraged you quit. More is not better. Some times more pushes us over the edge of no return.
I use to think, "today I'll drink a gallon of water"....I will help this diet along! Then I realized, I would need to be consistent with water and I would burn out quickly with a gallon a day. So I dialed it back to 8-10 8oz glasses. More was not better.
Small steps that create a healthy habit, done with out a rush help create a lifestyle. We want to help this diet along, so we can arrive at this magical place. I've been the magical place and a whole new challenging adventure begins. Keeping it together, staying at goal, being in a real world with old addictions wanting to resurface! So much harder than the inital stages of Atkins.
