Hello all!
I have been a forum lurcher for a while and decided to sign up right before Thanksgiving... good timing huh?
Here's my problem. I sooo need help. I'm a 25 year old male. I've lost 180 pounds so far on various diets including Atkins. For the last 8 months my weight has oscillated from 265-275 no matter how much exercise I do or how I change my eating habits.
So, to get out of this rut I did the fat fast/Kekwick diet that Dr. Atkins mentioned in a book of his. I lost 10 lbs in three days! Bad news, is the in the three days since I ate about 1,500 calories (500 more than he suggested). I stepped on the scale today (day 6) and I gained those 10 I originally lost in the first three days.
By the way, when I was on vacation this summer I ate profusely and never got above 275 lbs. I'm locked into this weight range it seems.
With yesterday being Thanksgiving I plan to restart the Fat Fast/Kekwick tomorrow and sticking by the diet moreso than last time.
I would appreciate it much if the members here could have me suggestions in getting out of this plateau and back onto the road of weight loss. I have about 70 more pounds to go until my goal weight.
Thanks for the advice everyone. Glad to finally be a member on the board. Look forward to speaking with my fellow diet buddies!
I'm seriously considering gastric bypass if I can't lose these few pounds and that should be the last resort.
Cheers,
Eugene
