  • Dec 1, roll call

2 yrs ago at this time, I was a beginnger jogger all over again in my life. I went to a treadmill in our clubhouse every morning at 6am. I did this because we "journal friends" from Journal Chats had made a mileage goal in the month of Dec. We hand spent thanksgiving hanging out and came up with an exercise challenge and it sent me to the treadmill. But it was actually meeting Adena in person, who was a beginner runner herself. Adena has been at ADBB as long as I have. She lives with in 30mins. We met in Nov 2 yrs ago. I started trotting after i exercised with her. It was a turning point in my sports world.

Today I step away from sports world and dial it back in light of recent poor management (to say the least) of my foods.

Where would I be without this site, and all the time I've given here over the last 2+ years. It gives me alot of FOCUS and I love that. Today is going to be another day on my very long journey, and one I will not be talked out of. I am back ON DIET. Building a new level of sustainability!

        Morning all

Hubby is leaving India at 2am so will be back here in the morning - YAY!

Foodwise... I am confused. I was reading DANDR last night and realised I have some symptoms of candida. I am fully prepared to cut out cheeses (except mozzarella and cream), sour cream, anything processed or smoked or furmented and mushrooms. I thought that would be a tall order, but I'd give it a go along with taking the caprylic acid and probiotics.

Then I look on the candida forum and they say cut out ALL dairy (inc all cheese and cream and butter).

I have been losing weight and don't want to go so extreme that eating this way will be boring unless it is totally necessary.

I am thinking of cutting out the specific items in DANDR and taking the supps and seeing how I feel in a week or two.

        Hmmmm - I just don't know?! x

          Re: Dec 1, roll call

Morning all! I have officially done 6 weeks on Atkins and have lost a total of 20 Lbs. I am pretty excited about that. I lost 13 during induction and then the other 7 during the last month. I would have lost more I'm sure had I went on extended induction instead of OWL but I am happy and content at this rate. It may be slower this way but I feel better with more food choices. As long as the scale keeps going down and the inches falling off, I won't complain. Hope you all are going strong on your quest to weightloss-ville!!!

          Now: 2009
          March 9 ~ 201.5 LBS.
          March 16 ~ 190.5 LBS. (-11 Lbs.)
          March 23 ~ 185.5 LBS. (- 5 Lbs.)
          March 30 ~ 188.5 LBS. (+ 3 Lbs.)

            Re: Dec 1, roll call

You know Jen, there are those who actually loose more weight on OWL rather than extended Induction.....some people stall out in extended induction....others thrive, and the same can be said about OWL.
20lbs in 6 weeks is a HUGE amount of weight....Be grateful, don't second guess, keep building a way of eating a living more than weight loss. Soon you will probably hit a slow spot, as your body readjusts, it could happen and you can get frustrated if you don't keep your eye on a higher prize, which frankly is a challenge....But the higher prize is a way of living and if you get there first, please keep reminding us of these principals!!!! Keep point us in the right direction, lifestyle, lifestyle, lifestyle....
Get the weight off, like I have and then at least for me, the REAL challenges began!

              Re: Dec 1, roll call

Very true!!! It's not actually getting there (because I've been there before)....its figuring out what to do once I do and making sure I don't fall to the sidelines of my own life again.

                Re: Dec 1, roll call

I'm back once again - I started induction today. It hasn't been too bad yet - but it is only day 1! I have only succeed with this once before and that was in 2003 - unfortunately I've gained all the weight back I lost and am ready to get rid of it for good this time. I've tried other things, but they just don't work with me, I end up cheating big time. I'm hoping to post most days to make me stick with this.
