This is my second real attempt at Atkins, and this time I have been refusing to cheat. I have been on the diet for almost three months now, and have gone from 260 pounds to 229 pounds...I realize that's a good amount of weight to lose, 31 pounds is nothing to be ashamed of.
But I WAS down to 221 before Thanksgiving, and have gained 8 pounds since last Wednesday. I'm thinking its probably water weight or stress, but its still discouraging to step on the scale and see that those eight pounds have come back.
My meal plan looks similar to this (of course, each day varies):
Breakfast: 2 eggs and some ham or sausage
Snack: A few slices of pepperoni
Lunch: Salad with chicken and low-carb ranch dressing
Supper: Whatever I make my husband...steak, chicken, some green veggies like broccoli.
I drink at least 80 ounces of water a day.
Does anyone have any idea how to break this trend of gaining? I'm starting to worry that its going to keep going, that maybe I'm doing something wrong.
Thank you in advance!
