As I continue to move more and more into the fitness industry. I am currently studying to become a certified personal trainer. I have been watching people. I workout with a group of women who are in a 6 month project to get fit. I train 5 of them. As I have walked this walk with them, their real problems have all surfaced. Problems with food, and exercise and committment and working towards a goal.
I think I've come up on the top thing that will help them move forward. KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GOOD AT.
We all know what we don't like about ourselves and what we cannot trust in our selves, well we can use some of that knowledge and steer clear of troubles.
I am NO GOOD AT staying up late. I am NO GOOD at keeping a commitment to working out after work. I am good at getting things done early! I am early, I like to arrive with out being freaked or fretting or under pressure! So, I get things done when I am not stressed and or late.
I know me, and I put me in the BEST possible advantage.
A girl recently said, "I know I won't work out by myself" so I suggested she keep setting herself up for success by working out with others.....joining groups, and or making friends, to ensure your success with fitness.
Know yourself, this season, and do what needs to happen to be successful. Don't PUT YOURSELF LAST, or you will be the same. Make a plan and put yourself in the best possible way.
Take snacks in the car before the mall.
Avoid the food court
Eat before you leave
Drink water and make ALLLLL those pit stops.
If you party, take water in a bottle and constantly sip
Make it about connecting with others and visiting
Bring your own food, and DONT apologize!
Someone said yesterday, I don't want to draw attention to myself, which is why I don't eat separate foods....I don't go for the walk after the huge meal, I don't just stand around with water. I smiled weakly thinking, "HER WEIGHT has drawn such attention to herself"...What is a little positive attention because you are doing the right thing for you?
Take control, TODAY, of your day....ONLY today. Plot what you want to see yourself do and do it. Go out of the way to make it happen.....Then get up and do it tomorrow, with in a month, you will be settled in at a new level of living and it won't be hard for you at all, it will be routine!
