  • Roll Call 12-11

    Good morning STACers. I again rise and go after what I want for my body. I press on into a new day, head down determined to make it happen. Thankfully a ketogenic diet diminishes appetite, and I swear that is my saving grace this time.
    I am just not very hungry at all. I find that pretty amazing when I look back to just a short while ago when food had such a strangle hold....I am moving towards freedom and self control, one step at a time.....for this I am most grateful!

    Morning all

    I had a busy morning shopping for bargains in Woolworths (a 99 year old store that is unfortunately closing down) and then spent 45 minutes waiting to pay for them! It was heaving in there!

    I ended up having breakfast at 11am and am soooo tired after a restless night that I am going for a nap. I am not at all hungry. I may have a snack when I wake up or just wait for dinner - I will see how I'm feeling.

    I tried some size 14 skinny jeans on (UK size 16) and they fit really well on the bum and legs/hips but were just too tight to do up - not long now though I'm sure!

      Woolworths! I used to love Woolworths ... we had one in my hometown for years.

      Nothing like having the skinny jeans close to fitting ... great news, Z!

      We're in the middle of a pelting rain storm which, at this time of year, can only mean one thing: Cold front on the way. Yesterday, we were running the air conditioner!

          Mornin' all! Checking in and reaffirming to myself that this is working. Scales were down again this morning. Despite LOTS of stress from several different directions yesterday, I stayed on plan, it really does help that my appetite is under control, and I am making conscious decisions about what I put in my mouth, treating it a fuel for my body. No stress eating, on a day where I would have totally pigged out a couple of weeks ago. That's a good feeling..... think I will hold on to that today.

            Hello All, I'm not doing really well today. I'm on plan but I haven't eaten anything because I'm sick, I just wanted to check in! Hopefully I'll be feeling better tomorrow!

              Hi All, It's the seventh day of re-re-re-re-induction for me. I'm starting a food log today, and will try on some clothes to see how I'm keeping.....
              I have been heavy on the cheese and olives....Deviled eggs sound good for snacks to keep me right. Also, later on a fire to bbq some steak and chicken, some to put in the fridge for later.

                Good afternoon! Today is my Induction, as Al puts it, re-re-re-re-start. It hasn't been quite 24 hours and I already feel so much better. I don't feel bloated, my brain isn't as foggy, and my appetite isn't too crazy. During the first two or three days of Induction I make sure I have lots and lots of good food to eat - if I'm hungry I'll eat. Once the stored glycogen (is that the right word?) is burned up and I enter into ketosis I'll probably be good with just three meals a day.

                This time I've decided to avoid sweeteners. Even though Induction allows up to three sweeteners (sugar-free gum, Splenda packets, Diet Rite, etc) per day I think it best for me to avoid anything sweet...period. Hopefully it works!

                  Good luck Kristine! I too find that it is better just to avoid sweet things. Artificial sweetners tend to make me bad anyway, partly because I have a tendency to overdo them.

                    It's late in the day, but I'm here. My 2 weeks will be over soon (although I plan to do an extended induction). I'm down 8 pounds - although I can't physically see where I've lost the weight. I hope for 2 more pounds by the weekend.

                    I'm doing fine and I haven't cheated, but boy I notice toward the late evenings that's when I really, really want to snack. I don't know if it's because I'm tired, if it's habit, if I'm just not eating enough during the day or what, but I'm running for water and gulping it down to try and keep from running to the fridge for...something, anything to nibble on.

                    It's an almost FRANTIC feeling to eat something, and I can't even really say that I'm hungry when I feel it. I didn't even go through when I quit smoking back in 2000. I've never once felt like that, but boy, I'm feeling it now. This is definitely one of those "character building" times of the day for me.

                      It's really late in the day here, but I'm checking in. My reinduction is over tomorrow, and I'm really missing OWL and some of my higher carb veggies, so I think I'm going to pass on extending induction.

                      I'm working from home this afternoon, and wanting sooo badly to snack out of boredom, plus I missed breakfast (Bad me, I know). It's so great to realize though that my desire to snack is only boredom, I'm truly not hungry.

                        Hi Everyone, Today has been a good day. It's only my second day back on induction but I'm feeling pretty good. I am a little worried about the weekend as I typically start cravings on the 3rd and 4th days of induction.

                        Holly, that is great about recognizing the desire to snack out of boredom - something that I really need to work on!

                            Good evening all! I'm new to STAC so I was wondering how the roll call works. Do you have one every other day or something? I noticed there isn't a 12-12 one so I just upated here like others.

                            I feel GREAT! Even though it's just water weight I'm down 5 pounds from Wednesday (two days!). That's definitely a motivational start for me. Also, I'm definitely in ketosis ~ AMEN!

                              Woot! Congrats on your 5 lbs, Kristine! Yes, there's usually a roll call everyday. I guess one just didn't get put up for today. It's all good, though, since we're all here, right? ^_^
