  • I think it's time to confess...

Okay so I fell off the wagon... for the millionth time! I used to hang around the century club forum. I believe now it's time for me to move to STAC. I haven't been able to stick to plan for the past 3 months... and because of this I have gained 7 lbs. Yes, I could've gained more so I should be happy I realized just in time that I needed to come back here and jump right back on. I'll be going back to school fulltime in January and holding down a part time job as well as taking care of my grandmother who can no longer live on her own, and who also is in the early stages of dementia. To put the icing on the cake (figuretively speaking that is) The boyfriend and I are planning our move together in October of '09 which I will also have to find another place for my Grandmother to live and I refuse to put her in a home.

I have been severly depressed thinking about all of this and in turn going back to food for comfort. Then when I realize what I'm doing I become even more depressed and starve myself for a day or 2... and the cycle starts again. I'm ready to make a permamnent change. My boyfriend was also in the midst of losing more weight when we first got together in June '08. Since then he has gained 15 and myself 7 as previously stated. He doesn't believe atkins is healthy but I'm hoping once he sees me dropping weight again perhaps he'll give it a shot.

Thank you so much for reading this obsurdly long post. I look forward to melting away with you guys! =)

Life is a journey best lived one day at a time and not in the future. You have alot going on in your life but if you choose to live in the present and take each day for what it has to offer and follow the plan, you will be in a healthier state of mind to handle the challenges that lie ahead of you. Taking a 15 minute walk or other form of exercise will help reduce your stress levels and allow you to make good eating habits.

Hey Steph, welcome to STAC...We are glad to have you come over. I wish there were magic cures here....I wish something you pop off your screen and make it easier now that you are here, but unfortunately all we have is a "daily go at it"....
WE have stumbled, fallen and returned. Nothing is certain and nothing is sure. Just because you begin again here, doesn't mean you won't begin again tomorrow..
We celebrate a good day, and encourage another tomorrow, we encourage keeping going no matter what!
Hopefully there is honestly and acceptance and a deep desire to get it right. AFter all Atkins is a very specific ketogenic diet, not to be played with if you want the results.

We are so glad you are here!

Re: I think it's time to confess...

Since I'm a STACer, I can relate. We all have rough patches that we go through. But the great thing is, we've all found our way back. I also agree that you should live day by day and try to stay as motivated as you can. There really isn't any magic to it, just hard work, hard will and motivation. You've done a great job to get where you are now and I'm sure you can find it in you to continue your weight-loss journey to the end.

        Good luck!
