Re: Let the headaches begin!
Yea for the pound lost...boo and hiss for the headache---but that will pass. Drink lots of water and if you take them, take 2 Tylonal or the kind to get through it...there's no need to suffer too much

Re: Let the headaches begin!
Congrats on losing that first pound! Those nasty headaches are no fun at all! I still get them here and there. When I feel one coming on, I just increase my water intake and then I'm fine. Keep up the great work!F/35/5' 7"

Re: Let the headaches begin!
judyintn, is today any better? I usually take an ibuprofen and a generic Excederin and drink a lot of water and that usually helps my headache.
Great job on the pound lost so far. I, too, am a slave to the scale...every morning
.
Good luck!

Re: Let the headaches begin!
As those before have said, water can really help eliviate headaches. Drink as much as you can. Also, going for a quick walk can help, it gets the body moving!sigpicCeeMarie 267/236/180 (-31 lbs!)

Re: Let the headaches begin!
As of Sunday evening, my head feels better. I took some ibuprofen and am trying to get my house cleaned up while I am out of school on winter break. I'm really determined to lose ALL of the weight this time. I feel so much better on this WOE that I ought to kick my own butt for ever going off of it and gaining the weight back. My arthritis pain is already less and I'm breathing better, high carbs and starches are not my friends.sigpic starting 12/26/2008

Re: Let the headaches begin!
Clogger says she takes a "generic Excedrin" -- watch out, the real Excedrin has caffeine in it! I don't know about the generic.
That's why we always used it as a hangover cure in college, before we liked coffee.Female 5'5"

Re: Let the headaches begin!
Yes, Excedrin and generic Excedrin both contain some caffeine. Luckily, I'm not sensitive to caffeine ~ meaning it doesn't cause cravings for me. Dr. Atkins said to avoid caffeine because "excessive caffeine has been shown to cause low blood sugar, which can make you crave sugar". He didn't say do not have any or eliminate it like he states for other things like fruit, bread, pasta, grains, etc. in his "Rules of Induction" in DANDR 2002.
Depending on how sensitive someone is to caffeine should determine if they can safely consume it and not get cravings.
