  • Enjoying induction (again)

    Hey all,
I just noticed the STAC forum, and I guess this is where I should be. I'm on day 11 of my induction and enjoying every minute of it. Yesterday was my only hard day so far, the kids had macaroni and cheese which is my Achilles heel and my wife had chips while watching a movie with me. I have been enjoying a variety of chicken wings, smoked pork with salsa verde, ham, carne asada, and sausage. I find that if I have a good variety induction is very fun and easy. I am down 18 lbs in 10 days. I am going to make some beef jerky this afternoon and maybe a turkey breast. I hope everyone else is having a great holiday season.

        Re: Enjoying induction (again)

Well, I fell off the wagon for a day for New Years Eve. I'm sure I'm not alone, but it will feel better after I come clean with everyone. We had old friends visit us that we haven't seen in years. We went out to dinner and had drinks. We took leftovers home (Pizza, but it did have lots of meat on it). I ate the leftovers the next day, and since that day was already shot, I continued cheating for exactly 24 hours. I had just finished my super clean induction, and was down 19 lbs. I gained 2 overnight on New Years Eve, and 5 more the next day. It took me until today to get back to where I was. 24 hours of cheating cost me 4 days. I did quit smoking though.

          Re: Enjoying induction (again)

Hey man... Way to go on quitting smoking. I also gave up smoking as of the new year. I have also started the atkins plan for the new year. I did the plan about 5 years ago and got down to 185 lbs and stayed there for a couple of years. I gradually started eating and drinking anything I wanted. I also stopped exercising. I topped out at 252 lbs. I started the diet again on January 3rd and have already lost about 5 lbs.

Don't be too hard on yourself about cheating.

LWT8905, you could be my brother from another mother. Our stories are the same. I did Atkins in 2004 and went from 225 to 190. I put it back on with avengence topping out at 241. I'm shooting for 190 again. Keep me posted on how it goes.
