  • New Year Smaller Me

I am back!! I fell off after staying in program for a total of 8 days!!! That was a record for me. My daughter told me the other day that I would rather talk about Atkins instead of actually staying on the program. She is right it is easier to talk about how great the program is than it is to stay on program and continue to feel better along with losing weight. Jan. 1 2009 is the day I will "put my money where my mouth is" so to speak.
Good luck to everyone who is starting over again and may this time be the last time.

Dear KSRSST (did I get that right),

I know what you mean about it being easier to talk about the program than actually do it. I talk about it all the time (especially when I am not on it). I talk about how great it is, how its the best diet for me, how its so easy to follow...blah blah blah, I can talk Atkin's very well but doing it is another thing. I am officially back on the diet. Day two, but in reality I ate something non-atkins friendly last night so I guess this is day one again! Good luck to you... I know its hard but you can do it. Keep me posted if you need more support.... and you know what, its so much better to talk Atkin's when we are actually doing it! Much more fun...

I am back for my third round of Atkins. I know this WOL works and is the only way to maintain my weight, once achieved. Good luck!

Here we ALL go again. Yes, I am back again for my third, or is it fourth time? Either way the only success I had was the first time. After that, falling off the wagon got really easy.

This time I am trying my darndest to be good. I even made a wager with my father of 100.00 - we each weighed in on the 28th and we will re-weigh on Memorial Day. The rewards to the biggest looser.

I have been trying to get something going at work too. The more people I have on board with me the better.

Keep in touch all of you - we can do this. The more support we have the better.

I will admit I have not even started yet. Yeah! I hear you... I cam going to start on the 1st along with krssst.

Hey-that's eight more days than a lot of people have EVER attempted! I've often found that the people who bash Atkins the most and swear they would NEVER try it are the people who could benefit from it the most.

You go girl-and just keep on keepin' on!

I not only have the problem of needing to to a little less talk and a lot more action with Atkins WOE, but also with a number of other things in my life. Thanks for the little kick in the kiester about that, lol.

              Happy 2009!

You are similar in weight loss to me. I am 158lbs and wish to be 130lbs. You have currently lost more weight than I have, but started close to what I have started at. This is my third go round with Atkins, I hope the third time is a charm. Good luck to you!

I am on my second start with Atkins and have lost over 30 pounds. I lost about 50 pounds the last time. I didn't learn my lesson and gained it back. My body dose not like carbs and I can not sit around and not burn up calories. Good luck on your journey - YOU ARE WORTH IT!

                    Ok Guys,
Day one behind me yeah!!!!! I not only stayed on program I walked/jogged 2 miles.
I also made a commitment to walk, run, or ride my bike at least one mile a day. This is I can do, any more and I will set myself up for failure. Failure is not an option this time around. Almost 50, almost diabetic, almost high blood pressure patient, so it is time to stop being an almost success at atkins.
Happy New Year and Happy New Us.

Ahh, but I've gained it all back, and probably then some, because I fell really hard off the wagon for the holidays. I refuse to weigh myself to find out, but I did update my stats with my current waist measurement. I'm at my third go now, also.

Thanks for the luck We can do this!

                        Re: New Year Smaller Me

This is Day 2, I am doing great staying on plan when my sweet tooth hits, boy it really hit hard. So I run in Wal Mart (bad idea since it is the first of the month), the store is packed, I run to the sugarfree candy isle, check carfully (I thought) the carb count, fiber, and sugar alcohols, I pick up the Weight Watcher Whitmans coconut covered in chocolate. I take a quick calculation of the net carbs. needing to get out of there before being trampled by first of the month shopppers, and came up with 3 net carbs for three pieces. Perfect, run back to work, sit down and start on one of the 3 piece serving after 2 coconut bites in I decide to read the ingredients. OMG there is sugar listed right there as the third ingredient, so I look back at the nutrition facts and to my horror right there in front of me, Sugars 9g, not Sugar alcohols!!!!!! So I have 12g of carbs and sugar. I am not in ketosis yet and this will surely make ketosis a more distant accomplishment. I have learned my lesson READ THE LABELS.
I hope everyone else is doing well on this journey.
                        Good night all
