  • Fourth Timer.

I am starting my fourth time on Atkins today. The three times before, I gave up either during induction or right after. I can't let that happen.

I think this time is different because I'll be working out, and working out with a personal trainer, and I also want to tackle my emotional eating issues. Does anyone have any advice?

    Much thanks.

    Re: Fourth Timer.

Welcome back Jessi! The best advice I can offer is to read the book, read the post here, especially the stickies, clean out your fridge and load it with Atkins friendly foods, keep up the exercise, drink lots of water and ask lots of questions because we are here to help.

Good luck and keep us posted!

        Welcome Jessica,
I would say "focus" stay focused, look at that is a slow turn towards a strong lifestyle with low carb foods. Leave the progress to your body. Take one bad habit out, and put a good one in it's place. Make that new habit happen every single day!
You are going to do great!

Dear Jezzicazi, welcome on board. If you want adice you came to the right board! And that is my advice to you. Keep posting, start a journal, when you feel week shout out to us. I just started up again and let me tell you that this board has really helped! Even when we fall we all help each other get back up. I also suggest you start a journal. I especially like the journal chats because members give me feed back and I find that it helps and keeps me more accountable. Good luck and remember that we are all in this together!

              Re: Fourth Timer.

Thank you, everyone. I will be journaling through two of my blogs.

The before and after pictures is a great idea. I am going to find pictures of myself in my skinnier days and have them ready to look at when I want to quit or feel tempted to eat some sweets.

                    Re: Fourth Timer.

                    Hi and welcome on board!

My advice to you is to read the book (2002 edition), stock your fridge with atkins-friendly snacks to help tide you over until mealtime, don't weigh yourself everyday and make the tape measure your first choice of measurement, cook some meals ahead or make extra "for later" or "just in case" moments and remember to always stay positive and optimistic that you will achieve your goals.

Make sure to stop by every day and report in for daily roll call. It helps keep me accountable and I automatically check out other posts to offer support and be inspired.

                    Stay positive!

                      Re: Fourth Timer.

How funny, I was looking for a Third Time Around Club (TTACer?) and saw your post. I don't have much trouble getting through induction, I just am so mental, I can't seem to keep the weight off. It seems I do better when I don't have a boyfriend. When I do, I just gain weight like a champ. Atkins really does work, but if you're like me, your weight is really in your head. Really. Hang in there!

                        hey twink,

A lot of my problems with eating are mental. My extra weight has been a shield and comfort for me. I am gonna look into some OA groups and I am starting with a personal trainer 3x/week on tuesday. I know I can do this! I know you can too!
