  • Tue 1-6 Roll Call

    You know if feels good to do good by your body! I don't know about you, but I feel my best when I really do the right thing and feed my body the right things and exercise and drink water. I have to work hard to make it happen, but then it all clicks and feels so good.

    GM, Jess and fellow STAC members! BTW, your pics are very inspiring. I'm at work wishing I brought more than sliced peppers with me today. Lunch is easy (good cafeteria; lots of choices), Dinner is at home, but Breakfasts are tough. I try to get up early to make eggs at home but keep hitting that $#*& snooze button!

      good morning. man am i tired. i haven't been sleeping very well in the past few weeks. dh and i got in a car accident on the 22nd (we are okay, the car was a total loss ) and i've just been stressed out about insurance and getting a new car. we were out late at the dealer and got a great deal on a great car yesterday night but i don't think my mind has caught up with everything and i'm still trying to get myself to believe that everything is OKAY. i need to de compress. you think my body would just say "enough, goodnight, SLEEP" but the opposite happens and i end up tossing and turning all night.

      anyways..here is to a better today. mentally, physically, spirtually. have a great one!!

        Good morning everyone!

        Ann Louise - Make a casserole dish ahead of time and pre-portion slices, or portions and reheat in the morning! That's what I do Or maybe even a quiche?

        Mrs S - I got in a car accident Dec. 6th,my car was totalled:



        a truck hit me going 40 mph when I was stopping to go over railroad tracks...

        And, I JUST finished all the insurance stuff I had to do yesterday for it... It took me a month, so hang in there, I feel your pain!


        But, anyways!

        I'm feeling good, starting to think I'm in ketosis now... I keep steadily losing although my scale says eighty different numbers every time I get on it... Couldn't sleep for the life of me yesterday though... I think I finally passed out at like 4 am... it was ridiculous... I just layed there with my eyes closed for a LONG time and nothing was happening... I'm glad I woke up in time to take lil' man to school though!!!

        But, now I'm fine Off to shower, then work!

        I hope everyone has an awesome, legal day !!!

          Today is my second full day of re-starting induction, and it's been a breeze this time, despite my current cold and fast-approaching TOM. (The last couple of times I tried to start Atkins again, I had zero motivation and gave up quickly.)

          One thing I'm doing differently this time is downing a LOT of water, I wonder if that's helping with cravings.

            Hey everyone this is my 4th day and the 3rd time trying the atkins, I think I have the induction flu again . Just getting on here and reading everything keeps me soooo motivated to keep on going. Its so hard to stay focused when u have family and friends that thinks that the atkins diet is so bad for your health. I'm gonna keep it up if they like it or not.

                Good morning all! Sorry to hear about the car crashes. I hope everyone's all right and you soon get some much needed sleep.

                I'm on pre-maintenance and have been losing very slowly but I only have 9 lbs. to lose so that is to be expected. Hopefully this week I can cut back on my evening eating because that is what has always tripped me up. The problem is that the more you lose, the less you can eat and it's hard to keep cutting back all the time. But I'm determined to do it so wish me luck!

                  Starting into day 5, and all is going well. Can hardly wait to check the scale on Thursday! Have put in 3 days of excercise, and feel really good. So far coming along great. Hope everyone has a great day!

                    Hello everyone,
                    Starting day 3 and feeling much better. Yesterday I felt so tired and today I have a good amount of energy to work on the house. God willing I will get the rest of this weight off. UGH its so hard some days.I know how to do this I have come so far already I just need to go back to the basics and log on and post often.

                      I am here again today. Day 4 so far so good. Last night was my first night of great sleep in weeks. I attribute it to the trip to the gym yesterday afternoon. I managed 20 minutes on the TM and 10 min on the recombant bike (it killed me) and another 20 min of shoulder work. I haven't worked out since I stopped PT about 6 weeks ago- I am still a little scared of what I can do but I have an appt with my surgeon this month.

                      Within an 2-3 hours of that I felt very relaxed and went to bed at 9:30 pm. I slept soundly until 5:30 this morning. I never even got up to go potty. Weird because I always have to pee. I think drinking plenty of water through out the day has me more hydrated and less thirsty in the evening....

                      Breakfast ideas- crustless quiche is great, deviled eggs with crumbled bacon or sausage on a stick. I usually make my husband breakfast every morning before work and a large sausage (we use reindeer) and 2 fried eggs only take me about 5-10 minutes. I cook them all in one pan like a short order cook. I personally hate eggs but I can do quiche or deviled eggs or egg salad and occational scramble with lots of goodies in it. Even a scramble if prepped the night before is quick. You could always do a protein shake if you made it to the nut rung using soy milk.

                      Anyway Happy Tuesday!

                        Well, it's been a long time since I've logged on here! I thought I'd check and see who's around. LOTS of new faces, which is always good! This is more like my fourth time around, my third here on ADBB, but I've had a very difficult personal experience that has finally made up my mind.

                        I haven't started induction, yet, because I need to go to the store and don't get paid until the end of the week, but I've already started making better choices. I also am going to join Curves. It's the only 'gym' anywhere close to me (I live in a pretty rural area) and it will do.

                        Jess - I've missed logging in every day and seeing those great, encouraging messages you always post. I'm very glad to be back!

                        plsmachic - I do remember you from last year when I last posted (May?). How have you been doing? Need to go check out your journal.

                        The rest of you I guess I will get to know as we go along. Glad to meet you! Good luck!

                          Good Morning All,

                          I am also sorry you hear about the car crashes. I to was in an accident 6 month ago. I am doing much better now. It just takes time to heal both mind and body. Well it's Day 5 for me and I am down 8 lbs and I feel very good about. I really feel like I can do this. We can do this!!! Wishing everyone a wonderful carb free day! Thanks again for your posting they really help it is so motovating. I look forward to reading them.

                            Darn Chicago and Michigan weather!!! I refuse to drive when it snows... Guess I will be sitting at home all day. Day 2 for me and going strong. I think I may have over did it on the cheese yesterday but I am getting back into the swing of things. I haven't started exercising yet but I plan on it.

                              Morning everyone... well, it's still morning here on the west coast

                              I'm fully in ketosis!! Not only am I craving water (a definite ketosis sign for me) I also have (cover your eyes or skip to the next line 'cause I'm going to be rude! ) stinky pee! Yep... too much information, right?! HaHa!
                              Yippie!!

                              Ann Louise = I often have dinner left-overs for breaky. I always make a little bit extra because I'm pretty lazy in the morning too. Being able to quickly grab something from the fridge is important to me. This morning I munched on left over roast beef as I was putting makeup on my face .

                              Mimom = I can relate to the snowy weather! We rarely get snow here (well... we might get a little, but it doesn't stay for too long) but we've accumulated more then 2 feet over the last two weeks! Pretty stuff, but not fun to drive in! It's warming up this week - in fact it's raining today - so it should finally go away. In the mean time we'll have major puddles and slushy streets for a little while!

                              Okay... I have to get some work done. They don't pay me to chat on forums all day!
