  • Back for the final time..

Time to to living or dieing. I have been kind of out of the loop for the last year. As my signature shows, I lost my son this last year. 2008 was a disaster for me and my family. I have just gotten a blood workup to start and have been told that my glucose is 199.. I have some sort of diabetes. I have been skirting that for some time. This is the third time for me an Atkins, its either this or the early death that I've been daring with the lifestyle that I lead. I am getting things ready to start a hard induction this weekend. It will take that much time to get prepared. I have a friend who is a lot younger but with a lot of the same diet / eating problems as I am. I will probably need to lean on them and I ask for some people to really kick me in the ***. I'm down and need to get back up before this kills me. I just want to feel good as I have on this plan a few years ago.

My wife has been really fantastic through all of this. She is very active in the support the troops movements. We stayed in contact with my son's unit and sent care packages every other week. We met with many of them and drove up to Ft Campbell to see them all come home (two months early). We will remain a part of their lives for as long as they'll have us.
