Hi everyone. This is my second time around (obviously) and I am trying to lose my baby weight after giving birth in October. I started induction on January 5th. I was 195. January 12th 185 January 19th 181 and for this week 181 also. I am still staying under 20 carbs (mostly between 17-19), drinking lots of water. The ONLY thing I did differently was bought a box of Blue Bunny Sweet Freedom bars. I did get some Russel Stovers sugar free chocolate too. I know there is some debate about the sugar alcohols causing stalling in some people. I ate them last time and they didn't cause me to stall. I also tested with a ketosis strip and I was purple so I am in ketosis. Any suggestions? I remember I hit a bump last time after I lost about 15 pounds.

    Re: stalled

All looks good for you so far, congrats on your loss. Most people level off between weeks 3 and 5. Check your inches, you are probably losing some of those if not pounds. Losing inches is still losing. You are probably just redistributing your weight to a better place. Also, make sure you are getting enough calories. I noticed that with decreased appetite I was only getting between 800 and 1000 calories around week 3 and going into stavation mode. I was just not hungry. Log your food on fitday and check your calorie intake.

      Hi
      alliesmommy
I am also at a stall. I have been on Atkins since Dec.22 I am down from 195 to 173 but the last week I have lost nothing . I have not measured ( as I do need to buy a tape ) but I do feel lighter . I do not do the bars or the candy but I do watch everything I eat and drink I do stay under 20 carbs a day and I am in in 2nd phase . I did this week pertain a lot of fluid as I have been doing for years even after drinking 5 32 oz glasses of water . I don't have an answer for this but hopefully it will pass. Good luck to you and hope you find some answers , but don't give up . Give it a while longer I am sure it will work out .

        Re: stalled

To be an official stall you must not change weight for several weeks. I doubt either of you are really stalled. Just a speed bump.

TJ's advice is spot on .

Thanks so much for the advice. I do need to watch my calories. I have not had the appetite I had just a few short weeks ago and can easily go until noon without eating which I know is a big no no. I also use sparkpeople to log my meals. It is a huge help. Thanks again!

            Re: stalled

I stayed on induction for 2 months but didn't lose any weight the 2nd month so I moved up to rung 1 and started losing again. I don't know why but a lot of people need to move on and eat a little more to start losing again.

The candy isn't allowed because it causes cravings. If you're doing induction the right way, there are no cravings.

Good luck and keep us posted on your progress!

it looks like the Blue Bunny bars are pretty high in carbs. they're touted as low-fat, which you definitely don't want.

but yeah, 1 week is not a stall. don't give up. it's been one huge stall for me, but I'm still down 26 lbs. I guess it's a good lesson in patience.
