    Oh... I got a little chuckle on that this morning... and I was gonna post it just to throw everyone off. But, actually... apply it to eating carbs.

    We've all fallen off Atkins, hence, STAC. But, trying and trying to eat carbs again and failing to lose weight when we do can make the quote apply to us right?

    I thought it was a good one... lol.

    Checking in this morning. I don't know why it's so hard for me to be a sociable person! But, I'm here and I will try to make myself check in everyday! I think that's where I've always gone wrong before. I could never ask for help, and definitely couldn't admit when I'd made a mistake. Anyway, sorry to ramble. Hope everyone has a good day.

      Good Morning & Happy Mondays STAC'ers.

      I am here & feeling good. I woke up early feeling well rested. I did get on the scales first thing and nothing! I know I am doing everything right. I have had some decent success in the past. I can feel my roll of fat shrinking. Soooo I just have faith that the scales will move in my favor eventually. I tried eating more yesterday and I did. I managed quiche for breakfast, vegi soup for lunch, some jerky (not much) for snack, and taco skillet (gr beef & cabbage) for dinner.

      Vicki- from yesterday- I do need to get a new scale but I want a nice one and those aren't cheap. I am budgetting it for my next big paycheck (30thish).

          Good morning! I just joined ADBB a few days ago and I have to say that I love this place. I have never been so inspired to lose the weight I need. I think of a thousand questions through out the day, but then I end up forgetting them when I get on here. (I'm going to start carrying a little notebook with me so I can jot things down at any time). I do have a question now though...Alaskagirl mentioned eating jerky.... are we allowed to eat beef jerky during induction? What about pickles, can we eat pickles during induction? I believe I have been doing good so far. I haven't cheated since I started and best of all... I don't feel like I've missed out on anything My daughter decided to make a German Chocolate cake on Sunday and to be honest... I didn't want it. I looked at it like it was the devil or something...LOL. Am I going crazy? or is that normal thinking when you know the truth about carbs? Anyway.... thank you all for being so wonderful and inspirational!

              Good morning all!
              I guess I had fallen out of ketosis and didn't know it. I went back to the basics yesterday and around dinner time I noticed the keto breath. I hadn't had the feeling in awhile. I also have stinky pee again . I've never been so happy to be stinky. I was getting false positives on my ketostix which are now in the trash. I think I even had a bit of the induction flu last night and this morning. I'm sure the scales will start moving for me again. I ate a few restaurant meals in the past few days, and thought I was being safe with my choices. I guess you really don't know unless you make it yourself. Accidental cheating sucks, none of the pleasure, all of the consequences. Have a great day all, and keep being losers!

                Just checking in, has been awhile.........always a real comfort that although I have not been here, you have, and have been keeping the home fires burning!!

                  I'm here today...12 days in, 12 days without a single cheat (not that I didn't WANT to). I did a morning weigh in today and saw the scale tell me 303. I'm going to push the next three days during my workouts to see if I can hit a nice even number before my Thursday weigh in for biggest loser. I won't top my 11.5 pounds from the first week, but another 5 or 6 would be nice.
                  I also read a new quote today by Plato that I added to my signature. I thought it might apply here.

                    Went to the Nurse Educator yesterday for the blood glucose monitor and diabetes shake down. Just as I suspected, the woman was terrified when I mentioned Atkins.. it is the devil to these people. The Dietitian gave me **** and now this one was worse. My BP was elevated there but the upper number was lower than it has been! 132/89 was the reading.. considering that I was in a rather high state of agitation did not help anything at all. I got out of there feeling pretty disheartened.. Went to the eye doctors and everything there checked out other than needing stronger glasses (its been three years).

                    I hopped on the scales this morning just to see if I had something to be happy about and I'm now officially out of the 300's.. barely.. but I am.. 298!

                      I just read another article on splenda. horror story. sigh. not that I eat it much at all, but I'm definitely going to have to figure out how to make my own protein bars, because that is just the easiest snack for me at work! d'oh.

                        Stop reading them.. just like most truck horror stories are trumpeted by the railroad industry, the majority of hit pieces on Splenda are from the sugar AND aspartame industry.

                          well, the fact of the matter is that splenda did not have much in the ways of clinical trials and nothing very long-term before being sold to the public. I'm no fan of it, and do indeed think it's bad for you, but I turn a blind eye to what I know when it comes to a couple of products. I never, ever cook with it or use it in my coffee or tea. I just happened to bring a bar for a snack and was like MAN!!! hahaha!

                              I continue to feel like crap - but at least things are starting to manifest themselves into an actual cold with stuffy nose and a bit of a cough! It's been so slow going, though, that I'm worried this cold will stick around longer then I want it to!!

                              Did my daily weigh-in thing this morning and found that I'm down another 2 pounds to 213. It'll be interesting to see if this number sticks around or if I'm back up to 215 tomorrow. We'll see!

                              Newto - moments before logging into today's RollCall I had been talking to my 21 year old son about how I thought he wasn't "making progress in life". Then I read your Plato quote and immediately texted him my apology, along with your quote. Really quite appropriate... and I suppose a bit of fate that I read it when I did!

                              Fozzy - hang in there! And congrats on getting into the 200s!!

                              TJ - too bad about having to re-group, but the good thing is that you saw what was happening and responded. Terrific! Next thing you know you'll be reporting more woshes!

                              Julie - I'll be counting down the days until you get your new scale!

                              Steady - I was under the impression that it was Aspartame that was pushed onto the market without adequate study. I'll use Splenda once in a while - and I'll drink diet coke with aspartame... but I don't have too much of a sweet tooth so I'm not worried about my occasional use of these products. These could be famous last words... I may be stricken with Altzheimers because of the Aspartame in my brain!
