      Re: Rollcall Sunday 2-15-9

Good morning all! Had my first day in awhile I wasn't a loser. Can't be a loser every day. The wife and I didn't do dinner last night, too much work to do around the house, children issues, she had to study, yada yada yada. We are going to shoot for tonight though. It is actually better because it will be less crowded, more intimate, and not because it's a hallmark holiday. We both feel Valentine's Day is crap as long as we take the time out and appreciate each other on a regular basis.

I had the flaxseed pancakes for breakfast this morning. They were friggin awesome. It was good sitting down with the family for a pancake and sausage breakfast. Usually I have an omlette. I honestly thought the pancakes were every bit as good as the real thing. I even forgot to add in the splenda.

I was a little lax in my water yesterday. I usually take a gallon with me to work. Since I didn't work yesterday, I didn't track my intake as much as usual. I have the jug out today though.

I bought a recumbent bike yesterday at Wally world for $100. It went together just like the instructions said. That's a rarity for me. It works great and I am going to hit it for 45 minutes a day. I might actually get my real bike out and ride it soon. I always hated the "saddle sores" I got from riding it, but perhaps it won't be so bad at this weight.

Have a great day everyone, and hopefully everyone made it through yesterday OK.

      T. J.

        Happy Sunday STAC'ers

I am doing good. I may or may not weigh in today. I really am trying to stay off and do it only 1-2 times per week. Yesterday was great. I took my daughter and her friend to see "He's just not that into you". It was really cute and totally Valentine's appropriate.

I managed quiche for breaky & lunch and made magical vegi soup for dinner. I added chopped turkey breast and cubed cheese and it was very tasty. Then I made up some cheese cake muffins. Great taste profile. They looked awesome when I pulled them out of the oven but they sank down about 1/2 their size. Still tasty & perfect serving size. I may play with these a little and try them with whey protein or flax meal- give them a little more kick. Any way I posted them on the dessert recipe thread.

Last night when I came home and was unloading my car I slipped in a small patch of ice. I didn't fall but felt a little tweek on my right lower back/hip. It went away fine. But I started feeling it about 3 am in bed and I am definately sore. I will take some advil later and hope it goes away. The knee is feeling pretty good for the last few days... Knocking on wood.

Awesome Fozzy 17# is great. I think that is where I am at.

TJ- You have to slow down your weightloss or you will just melt away. Have fun with the new stationary bike. I use a recumbent bike at the gym. I may never be able to ride a regular bike. I crashed pretty bad a few years ago and now I am afraid to get back on.

Maybe if I get my weight down I will try it again. I have been wanting to get a kick bike (like a kick sled with wheels). I thought it would be fun- good for my whole body and I could put one of my dogs in front of it like a dog sled. Any way these bikes are about $400 and there is a local dealer.

I have a busy day again today. I have club dog training all day. I will check back in tonight.

Stay legal & drink your water

Checking in....down another pound! My goal is to spend the day cooking things in advance for the week. I bought quite a bit of meat a few days ago and the deadline to get it cooked and consumed is near. I'd like to stay off the scale for awhile but I don't want to miss the ONEderland moment!

You got me by one. Congrats! I had a beer last night. I guess it takes two. I guess the wine helped you. My neighbor and I are smoking some pork tonight. It's an 18 hour process, so we will start this evening so we can eat it tomorrw for dinner. I know I'll be able to get my 2 beers in with him. I'll be back with you at 204 tomorrow.

Julie, put some ice on that hip. You seem to have plenty in Alaska. (Ice, not hip ) I'll have to look at your muffin recipe. I just started cooking with flax meal today at breakfast. I really like it and was happy to have a "bread" type substance again. That was never my addiction though, macaroni and cheese was my kryptonite.

                Re: Rollcall Sunday 2-15-9

Survived Valentine's day, and the whole pre-Valentines routine! (I do flowers for a living, and probably assembled 200 gift bags prior to 'the day' mostly containing chocolate! It was hard! )

Losing more inches than pounds lately but I will take it. Swimming seems to be making me leaner in the upper body. It feels cool too! finding my ribs!

Dang it, tfek...let me have my glory!! You can catch me next week!! LOL I couldn't believe how hard one glass of wine hit me. Felt like a kid in the parents liquor stash after one glass!! Went to get another and poured it in the glass but it never made it to my lips. I have to say...it was nice!! One glass of white wine...relaxed for the first time in 2 months, wait, maybe 3!! I was drinking water all day long planning that glass of wine though. Glad it didn't kill me, but I didn't think it would.

                    Re: Rollcall Sunday 2-15-9

Hi Everyone, I hope you don't mind my poking in here. I have been looking around for a supportive group that updates their progress and keeps things up. I am feeling frustrated again as I expect miracles, of course. 2nd week of induction and no loss-actually, I take that back-I lost 2 first week, and this morning I see I gained it back. I started at 148 on 2/9, and of course committed to only check the scale every Monday and kick the obsessive habit of checking every damn day but checked last Thursday like an obsessed maniac-as they say, I didn't gain 25 pounds in a month, how should I expect to lose it immediately? This has worked for me before (when I was dating my husband-we were "in love" eating out all the time and didn't care...then my clothes didn't fit me! 20 pounds on in the course of 2 months! I went from a size 2 to a 4 plus-please don't give me grief. I am the kind of woman people give dirty looks at a Weight Watcher's meeting as I was always thin, and prefer to stay that way. I never stray more than 25 pounds, but I want to be back to a size 2. I am 5'7 and weigh 148-goal of 125, maybe 120 and really toned. Having a lot of trouble with all the water-how to you force yourself to drink it? Can't give up the 2 cups of caffeine in the morning- I am weak! My 3 year old keeps me moving, but my husband isn't a participant and thinks I am "fine"- well this isn't for him, although I hope he likes the results... Just wanted to check in here as I said, you all seem to be a "group of friends" that keep up and support one another which is what I need! I will poke out if this is a closed mini group... It's just nice as you all seem to know one another. I also wonder if anyone has stayed strictly Induction by the book, and felt maybe they were eating even too much of the good foods for them? I ate a lot of Boston Market chicken last night, and really thought I would be down to 145 starting a new week-so much for excitement and feeling progress!! I will keep trying and don't want to give up again...Thanks-Cara

                      Re: Rollcall Sunday 2-15-9

Cara, welcome to the STAC club. You should post on the current day's roll call thread to get responses. I'm sure Everlosing has already made one for today, she's an early riser. You should post your daily food intake on fitday to get a more accurate idea of what you are eating. I know Boston Market has a lot of sugar and carbs in their legal foods, making them illegal. I have been stalled before by eating legal restaurant food and finding out later that they put sugar in it for whatever reason. As far as the water goes, 8 ounces before every meal and 8 ounces with every meal will put you close to your goal of 80 oz. You should have 64 oz plus 8 oz for every 10 lbs you want to lose. Plus 8 oz for each cup of coffee. I can't knock your coffee, I have 2-3 a day also, but I know caffeine doesn't stall me. YMMV though. If it is the cause of your pause, switch to half caf for a week or two and then to decaf. Hope to see you at roll call today.
