does anyone (or has anyone) tried a thermogenic like Hydroxycut Hardcore? I used to LOVE ephedra until it became illiegal-really helped with the appetite suppression. This isn't really doing it for me... I am hungry much of the time... not starving, but hungry. I also like the idea of assistance with fat burning.

        Re: Roll Call 2/16/2009

I think a thermogenic would be helpful, but I get that from peppers. I wouldn't dream of using an appetite supressant on this WOE. It would be counterproductive. Your appetite should already be supressed to the point where you have a hard time eating enough. If you are getting your water and fiber and spacing out your meals, I can't see where you would need an appetite supressant. Just my $0.02.

Thanks- I don't think I am cheating, but I am HUNGRY-not sure why...Craving are still here- I want a big Dairy Queen vanilla cone dipped in chocolate! I am so bad! I will stick with this... I just expected to lose SOMETHING in 8 days of no cheating induction. I really don't think skinless Boston Chicken ruined my 8 days of good behavior. I will keep my chin up and just move along!

By the way, what kind of peppers act as a thermogenic?

cpb - diet pills are LOADED with caffiene - a big No-No on this WOE.

Drink extra water for appetite suppression (I used to be very addicted to ephedra and the extra water helps me)

                Happy Monday everyone!

I'm up but it's because I was at my friend's son's bday party at Chuck E. Cheese and I ate the toppings off one too many slices pf pizza... I know that sauce has sugar in it.. but I was hungry. And, I'm proud to say I ate no cake

The same friend, who has been doing Atkins with me, constantly thinks she gets sick from doing Atkins and I feel like maybe some of her issues are a bit hypocondraic-ish (sp?) but she checked herself into the hospital Saturday afternoon and they ran her blood and a whole bunch of tests and the nurse or doctor whoever it was came in and told her, "You're the epitome of health, whatver you're doing, keep doing it. You're bloodwork is PERFECT, blood sugar levels are PERFECT, and you're electrolytes are incredible."

                She went off anyway
And, she's telling me everything the doctor said and still trying to say Atkins is what's making her feel ill.

                Grrrr...

                But, I'm good!

See you all tomorrow in the A.M.!!!

I'm here, late. DD is home today and it is VERY rainy so we've been staying in. I'm on day 4 of no soda or artificial sweetners. I can't remember a time in my life I've gone completely without both. I feel great and wondering if there will be a change in the scale because of it. Time will tell.

I hope you all are having a great President's Day!

CPB... if you're hungry, eat something legal... and try and eat something higher in fat. Don't worry about the fat, don't worry about the calories. Just eat.

I read that - in the hopes of avoiding sugar - you removed the skin off of your roasted chicken. Next time, eat it. Yummy and has those fats in it that will help to satiate you/make you feel full.

So... go have some celery sticks dipped in cream cheese. Be sure to use full-fat dressings on your salad (mmmm to Caesar dressing!). Eat some cheese. A dollop of sour cream and chives on your mashed cauliflower is scrumptious.

                    Good luck!

Hey Shaunawa! I just wanted to let you know...I've always had a pretty low blood pressure especially compared to all of the other hypertensives in my family. It's not really something I've ever had to worry about but I bought a blood pressure monitor before I restarted in December. During induction and right before my blood pressure was 120-130 over 80-90. That's high for me but not awful. When I went to the doc last week, it was 96/60. Diet and exercise made a huge difference in just 6 weeks. I hope this gives you a little ammo to get him started!! Quite frankly, I was surprised it was as low as it was. Usually get p*ssed waiting 2 hours in the waiting room before I go back for the weigh and BP measurements.

                        Re: Roll Call 2/16/2009

Thanks Vickie! I suppose I should try to measure EVERYTHING w/a acrb...Just not used to doing that and I get so impatient...The 20 plus punds didn't happen overnight and yet I am so anxious for some progress. I wish I could remeber what I did the very first time in 2002-2003. I lost 15 pounds in 3 weeks. Now over 40 (43!!) I feel like my metabolism is a joke. I tried Jenny Craig at 1200 calories a day and lost nothing- it was an expensive joke with little packets and loys of work for preparation. I will keep plugging away. Can't weigh myself again until next Monday- I PROMISED myself I would not be obsessed again with the scale and after the disappointment this morning of NO loss in a week of pure NO CHEAT induction, I wanted to cry! Bad habit for me is the fight with the scale-it is a BAD habit and really does determoine my mood for the day. At least I know how messed up that is and how it only hurts my efforts. Induction is not the easiest thing in the world for me so I had hoped I could actually do it for 2 weeks and be onto OWL- I refuse to do that until I have seen some real progress. I am resistant to something. Just can't figure it yet. I may have to stay on induction until I figure it out. That may discourage mein a few weeks if I still see no progress. I do feel like I am eating A LOT, and that is why I think it seems strange that I am still not FULL... By the way, of anyone reads this, did my picture post? I see everyone elses but not my own and I am not good at the upload and signature "stuff". I tried and I think it is nice to see who you are talking too-if it didn't work, maybe someone would be so kind as to give me a pointer as to why I see everyone elses profile pic, but not my own. Thanks and have a great evening everyone!

^^^ 96/60 is crazy. I was feeling faint exercising a few weeks ago and my BP was 96/47. I think I need to get my high blood pressure meds checked because I was 35 lbs heavier when I was prescribed them.

Hi, all! I am late checking in as usual! I woke up this morning after a visit from the whoosh fairy with a 2 pound weight loss! Wahooooo! I watched over my Mom and Dad today, everyday, and it was pretty tough. My dad has Alzheimers and he is getting worse. Really confused most of the time. My mother had eye surgery a few days ago, she had a hole in her retina and they put a gas bubble into it. It really looks strange, and is hurting her. But between my brother and I, we are handling it pretty good. I came home tonight to a supper of steak and green beans. After that, I got on my exercise bike and rode for a half hour. I feel good and energetic now. Everyone, keep losing, stay on track, and drink your water. It's worth it!!
