Happy Tuesday STACers! Time for another glorious day. No losses to report this morning, but I really feel good doing the Easter Challenge. I could report a half pound loss, but I'll report a full one tomorrow.

I'm having a good breakfast of slow cooked curry chicken thighs with riced cauliflower (Thanks Julie).

Hope everyone else has a good day today.

Checking in & wishing everyone a wonderful day! Be good to yourself & remember to drink your H20.

I wish I had some riced cauliflower to make hash browns to go with my eggs this AM. Delish!

Good morning STACers! I've been sick for the past two days but am feeling better today. I'm definitely going to get some exercise now.

I was hoping that I would have lost a pound or two after 2 days of eating around 500 calories each but no such luck. Oh, well. Maybe I will see a loss by the end of the week.

      Have a great day everyone!

Day 9 of a fairly strict induction. I bought a new car yesterday so now, I can't afford to eat. ;-)

I feel so good, though. I'm sleeping so good and I have so much energy. I go right to sleep with no help at all and I wake up feeling great.

We'll see what the ole scales have to say next Monday!!!

Good Morning... I have been a bad girl.

Last night I ate four Nutter Butter cookies... Yes, you heard me. My whole day was pretty good before that. I even went to the ball game and everyone around me ate popcorn... I was good and had jerky. But the roads were icy and I needed a snack just in case... like an idoit I bought something I shouldn't have. They were suppose to be a winter survival deal - I didn't go into the ditch...but I ate them anyway.

I know today is a new day. And so far I am on plan... 2 eggs and one sausage.

Please lord let me be strong today...let me put an X on the calendar for the day.

              Need Help

Hi Tj and everyone, I need some help.....I'm new to the forum, and I can't figure out how to start my own post...but....
I check my urine daily with ketostix. Many days it shows that I am not in ketosis, other days, just trace. What is going on? I also have remained on induction in terms of low carb levels, because I am finding that if I eat more than about 20 g of carbs, I gain. Any suggestions? (I've lost 53 pounds so far, since June 2008, it's slowed down a lot now, where I don't lose anything, or gain and lose gain and lose...thanks

                Jodel,
To start your own thread, just go to the forum you want to post in and click on the Start Thread button on the upper left corner of the page.

As for your weight loss slowing down, we need more info on your height and weight but it could be that since you've lost so much either your body is going through a period of adjustment or you are very close to your goal weight. Those last few pounds are the hardest to lose.

I hope this helps but whatever the problem, just hang in there because you have done a remarkable job so far and you don't want to get discouraged. Let us know how you make out.

                  Thanks, blue.
My height is five seven, and my weight was 263, now it's around 211, but keeps fluctuating between 211 and 218, 219. Then back down, then up. It's been going on for at least two months. I still have a lot to lose. The inability to add carbs has me frustrated and bored, but I'm sticking with it! Any other thoughts?

                    Good morning all!
TJ, I have that half pound loss to report too, but I'm holding back. I seem to be sitting right around the 294 mark again today. That's okay though...I revamped my eating plan for today but cutting out a few calories and increasing my carbs a little bit (I was only getting about 10 this past week), so I'm hoping to kick my body back into gear.

Good luck, and good day to all!

                      good morning!

I'm still doing well on induction. feeling pretty rotten today though. I coughed all night last night. I actually have chest pain from so much coughing! really localized, or I'd be flipping out.

I had a few too many veggies last night (NEVER thought I'd say that!!!) at a meeting, but they were all on-plan. I resisted fresh pineapple and strawberries, and that wasn't easy, especially since I'm still feeling crappy!

hope you all have a wonderful day!

Jodel, you are in the right place! Don't worry about the stupid ketostix. If you have lost 53 pounds doing this you know better than the sticks if you are in ketosis. You will get a negative reading if you have a lot of water, and an inflated positive reading after a workout or if you don't have much water in your system.

Post your exercise accomplished. With all of that, we can solve this for most people. Except Cara who I'm not supposed to single out anymore .

                          Happy Tuesday STAC'ers.

My knee feels great right now I am hoping it stays this way. I have been complaining about my back just killing me. I seriously thought that I was starting to have issues with my fusion but now I know it is only cramps. Lucky for me -TOM-.... I am disappointed. I really try not to have it because of the back pain but last month I switched birth control and I guess my body doesn't have enough hormones built up to prevent it yet. So that is good news. The pain wll go away in a few days. It also explains the scale. I had weighed myself yesterday and wasn't pleased. On the other hand I went down a bra size so go figure.....

TJ- your chili was a hit. My husband loved it and my daughter didn't complain about it. I will have it for lunch later as well.

We were just watching Anthony Bordain (sp) last night and he was eating curry- so I need to try my luck at curry. TJ-Did you post that recipe? I will look on Linda and google some curry recipes and try to figure it out for dinner tonight.

                          Have a great day,

Hi everyone...I've made it to day two. I did not eat all that I had planned yesterday...but I also did not exercise, so that's ok. I had a horrible, horrible headache by 3pm...my guess is carb withdrawl but I'm surprised it hit so fast. I know that I get into ketosis much faster than I did the first time around generally speaking...so I guess it could stand to reason that I go through carb withdrawls faster, too.

I've had a good nights sleep. My plan for today is 2 hard boiled eggs for breakfast (still working on the second one), chicken caesar salad for lunch, bacon for a snack and then I think a recipe I saw yesterday for a cassarole for dinner...not 100% sure on that yet.

The big thing for me tonight will be making ahead some food for tomorrow. I have to travel 2 hours away to my dad's tonight...my sister is having surgery tomorrow to determine how far her melanoma has spread....it's going to be a difficult day, and a long, nervewracking day stuck in a hospital...so I really need to be prepared! I plan on making a broccoli quiche and maybe take some of that leftover cassarole...I dunno...I gotta figure it out.

Anyway...glad to be on day two. Trying to decide if I should weigh next monday or wait till my 14 days is up. Hmmmmm....

                            Realistic Final Goal: 190
                            Stretch Goal: 140

Successfully did Atkins in 1998 using 1992 copy of the book...before it was "hip". Lost 60lbs, exercised daily, felt and looked great. And then I moved in with a junk-food loving man, my mom got sick and passed away, then I suffered a spinal cord injury, and junk-food dude left me...and now I weigh 292lbs. That's 22lbs MORE than I weighed the first time around. It's 10 years later...I know this will work for me again.
