    I hope you don't mind me posting! I'm new to STAC. I am restarting Induction tomorrow at the same weight I started at on 1/26/09. I did great for 3 weeks and stresses in my life overpowered my will to stay on plan. I turned to carbs for comfort and here I am. I have had a headache every night since being off plan and I'm definitely attributing it to the carbs (I had them before starting Atkins and had NONE while on induction).

    My name is Kristen and I just turned 29 on Sunday (3/1). I am here to lose weight for my health and to hopefully get pregnant (I have PCOS) within the next year.

      Kristen, I've never been diagnosed with PCOS and am not sure one way or another if I have it...but wanted to let you know that I tried with medical assistance to get pregnant with no luck, gave up and went back to trying the old fashioned way with no luck...then spent ONE month on atkins last May and ended up pregnant by accident in June...I'd given up trying, convinced I was infertile. I personally believe my diet had something to do with it...Best wishes! I've heard so many stories about AD helping with fertility.

      Successfully did Atkins in 1998 using 1992 copy of the book...before it was "hip". Lost 60lbs, exercised daily, felt and looked great. And then I moved in with a junk-food loving man, my mom got sick and passed away, then I suffered a spinal cord injury, and junk-food dude left me...and now I weigh 292lbs. That's 22lbs MORE than I weighed the first time around. It's 10 years later...I know this will work for me again.

        Hello everyone,

        I am doing good so far in March, this week my goal was to increase my treadmill to 1.5 miles and I did it today and its only Tuesday : ) Now my other goal this month is to increase water and veg intake.

        Great start today, I did the 1.5 miles AND was using 5 pound hand weights half the time for a little upper body work.

          Thank you so much, rajenki. I have faith that my diet will fix my body and allow me to become pregnant. DH and I will be married for 2 years in December, and we're really itching to have kids.

            Crazy crazy day...but the scale finally moved and I am down 4 this week!!! after 3 weeks of not moving at all! Keep up the water everyone and take care!

              Julie, I did curry chicken thighs in the crock pot. You don't have time to do that for dinner, it's an 8 hour process. I just threw some thighs, a cup of water, a half cup of vinegar, a healthy dose of curry powder (apparently it slows the insulin response, that's why I've been using it), a handful of dried chili de arbol, a few shakes of garlic, and some cayenne pepper into the crock pot and went to bed. I think they need to marinate for a day or two before cooking because I didn't get as strong of a curry flavor as I would like. It did turn my nice tupperware lunch container yellow though. The recipe is still a work in progress. At least I get to eat my mistakes .

                I'm here. Probly going to make some deviled eggs for something quick and easy in the morning. I've been opening a lot at work and skipping bfast... that needs to stop...

                Other than that, I'm doing good. Staying on plan, other than my caffienated coffee I've been drinking in the morning. But, I need it. I'm not beating myself up over it.

                  Hi Everyone,

                  My turn to be frustrated...

                  Yesterday I stepped on the scale to see a 1 pound gain, told myself not to worry because flucations are normal (and they are).

                  Today I stepped on the scale to see ANOTHER 1 pound gain. ARGH!

                  I have a great hubby - I was pouting and he gave me a hug telling me how great I look already. That really helped put the whole thing back into perspective.

                  So here's what I know and what I'm thinking...

                  I've been sticking to plan - no deviations. If there's any problem with food intake it's that I seem to be letting my lack of hunger mess around with my eating pattern. I don't think it's that I'm eating too little (although that could be an issue), it's that I'll go without eating until I'm hungry. Right now, for example = it's almost 2pm and I haven't had lunch! Of course I had a small snack at 10:30.

                  I'm also not drinking enough water.
                  I know how to fix that and I've already had lots today.

                  It could also be a bump in the weightloss road... when I look at my graphs (yep - I graph every day!) I can see that just before a loss I gain a pound.
                  But... I've never gained 2.

                  Finally... it could be TOM... water retention.
                  Thing is... I don't have a uterus anymore... but I do have my ovaries and produce hormones.
                  So can I still retain water? I know I still get a little PMS.

                  Anyway... here I am, reporting in, being accountable.
                  I'm watching things a little more closely and I'm about to go down and get my lunch!

                  I'll check in tomorrow...

                    Much better post than the last few days! I know you're working a lot, but I remember when some of your wonderful, cheery posts would make my day. Good to see you back. PS, I like this pic better than the fried pig skin.

                      I'm tellin ya, it's the 209 curse. You're just backing up from it to get a running start to fly over it.

                        Checking in...I'm still here. I'm on plan. Have no progress down to report except that I'm stubborn!! It's been weeks... YAY! The whoosh fairy owes me one serious week long torrid affair. Maybe two. I'm learning to embrace the fact that once I hit ONEderland....it really will be a wonder....

                            Please tell me about the 209 curse. I lost 53 pounds and went down to 211. Now I'm hovering at 215, 216, 217, and it's making me crazy. I don't think I've done anything different. What's going on? It's frustrating, not enough to stop of course because I've been eating this way since last June. It's my second time around, first time lost 40 and gained it back, now it's a way of life. But I'm not always in ketosis according to the stix, sometimes the stick says negative or trace. Some say not eating enough carbs, I need to stay under 20 a day in order to lose. Thanks for any help or advice you can give me!

                              Jodel, 217 and 209 have been sticky weights for me and Everlosing and now apparently Vickie and Julie. I don't know why, just a superstition I guess. Still waiting on you to post your daily food intake so we can troubleshoot it.
