    Good morning all, Happy Hump Day. Just wanted to get this started before I go for a jog. I'll actually report in later.

      Good Morning.. Day 3.. Feeling better then I have the last two days.. You don't know how many times I wanted to eat Sugar yesterday to get rid of my headache but didn't..

      One thing I am proud of..I haven't gotten on that scale and don't plan to until Sunday. I thought about it once..but then I said NOPE..this is going to be a lifestyle change not a quick fix

          Checking in. The scale teased me by dropping down to 288 last night and this morning, so I'm hoping I"m off 289 for good. I never thought one pound would matter in weight loss, but now I find myself getting excited every time the scale moves.

            Good Morning everyone. Happy Wednesday.

            Well the totals are in and we ended up with an additional two feet of snow yesterday. Just what we needed! My hubby said the drifts were bigger then the snow blower - but he dug us out just the same. What a guy!

            TJ - I just wish I had a little of your ambition. Exercise would help me with this weight problem...I know it would - but can't seem to make the change.

            Hubby just found out that he has high blood pressure so I need to make some adjustments with cooking, yet again. He drives truck for a living and is now on probation for a year. He must get his levels down - or give up his CDL. Stress

            Okay so a question for you all... do you just take a multi vitamin and that is it or are there additional pills you take for more umph?
            How does one become a butterfly?
            You must want to fly so much that you're willing to give up being a caterpillar.

                Ok, everyone who said that I was retaining water due to lifting weights seems to be correct. The scale is moving back in the right direction as of this morning. I took yesterday off because old folks can't lift every day like 20 somethings. I ran a practice for my semi annual physical fitness test today. I did 60 sit ups, 50 push ups and ran my mile and a half in 14 minutes. Not stellar, but good enough. I really didn't push myself that hard on the run because I didn't want to feel like crap all day. In the past, my old fat self would be puking until noon and coming in around 15 minutes, so I'm pretty happy. I would have passed my assessment in the 30 -34 year old age group with my score. My actual test is next month and my goal is to pass in the 20 - 24 year old group. I have to get my run time down to 13:15 I think. I would like to get in under 196 pounds, because that's the maximum for my height. If you don't make that they measure your neck and waist to determine your bodyfat percentage. I measured myself and came in at 20%, and the max is 22% so I know that I'm in there for now. I would love to just get on the scale without being measured though. I don't think I've been able to do that since the early 90's. 1 year, 2 months, 1 day until retirement!

                  Sis, let's not get all crazy here. Working out is a job requirement for me, not all ambition. If I didn't have to, I don't think I'd be able to drag my butt out for daily runs and such.

                  As far as pills, I take so many they would qualify as a meal. I take:

                  L-Carnitine for fat metabolism
                  Chromium Picolinate for fat metabolism
                  Niacin to raise HDL levels
                  Omega 3,6,and 9 fish oil to raise HDL levels
                  A multivitamin without iron
                  The priobiotic pill that I couldn't even begin to spell "acidip..........."

                  I think there might be one more, and then some prescription meds too.

                    I'm here and checking in quickly. Work has been a nightmare this week and I've spent more time getting online at night and reading other posts than posting. It's a busy week but will soon be over! Can't wait!

                    TJ, it's water weight, I'm sure. The more muscle building I do, the more stuck I get but I keep hearing all that muscle will eventually burn up the fat. I'm waiting....still waiting.....

                      Morning STACers

                      Weighed in this morning to see 207 so I'm super happy! 207 dropped in on Sunday to say hello, then left as 208 returned for a few days. Hopefully 207 is here to tell me that 206 and her even smaller friends will be stopping in very, very soon!

                      If I'm really lucky, I'll reach my next mini-goal by the end of the month!

                      Hubby and I had to meet one of our kids at the Mall last evening... as we were walking past the stores where I can't shop I kept saying, "Soon I can shop in there!" and, "Looking forwarding to buying something from there!" INCENTIVES!

                      Shauna - I only take a multi-vitamin formulated for low-carb diets. Sometimes I'll take Omega 3-6-9s... sometimes I'll take some Cal-Mag-D (to strengthen bones - nothing to do with eating plan)... but usually I forget (which is bad!). If I need it (leg cramps) I'll take potassium. I've been meaning to search out some L-Carnitine and Chromium Picolinate but haven't had a chance (weekends busy with my business).

                      Working hard to drink my water today! In fact, I'm getting up to go and fill my water bottle right now!

                        I have a case of the CRABS today

                        Have you heard the new Carls Jr commercial on the radio about the CRABS? It just cracks me up... I wish I could laugh today.

                        I woke up super tired again and "almost" depressed. I have so much work to do and my house is still tore appart. It is getting to me and it is getting to my husband (which makes me feel even worse). My job stinks right now mostly because of the season. I get a new person to train next Monday which I am not looking forward to. I absolutely have to get my house back together. My office is still packed in box's and I can't even use the fax machine becasue the paper is packed.......

                        I just keep seeing this huge mountain of work and I have no idea of how to break it down into smaller digestable parts. Today I have to get samples ordered for a food show (find a working fax machine), go to the market (figure out something for dinner), move my daughter into the room that we painted yesterday, and hopefully start tearing her old room appart. I wanted to paint it before setting up my office, but at this point I may just throw everything in there just to have my house back quicker.

                        Oh yeah. My knee is feeling better but the back has been hurting more every night. I think the work has been to much.

                        I am done crying for now

                          Morning all...

                          so this is day....*counting on fingers*...10 for me. I'm up a pound since yesterday morning but I think I know why...and it's just water cuz I'm not eating enough food to actually gain fat.

                          Last night I never had dinner. I got home at 7, worked out till 8, and because I take ambien, I have to stop eating after 7-8ish or the ambein doesn't work. Around 9 I was painfully hungry....so I ate a slice of cheese and chugged some H20 hoping it wouldn't affect the ambien...it didn't. You forget what hunger pains feel like until you do Atkins...lol. I went WAY over the time between meals limit...my last food intake was at 2pm

                          I so totally wish I could get on a sleep schedule that would allow me to work out in the morning before work. Maybe I should concentrate on that next week. I think that would help my eating schedule and free up my evenings a little bit. It worked for me the first time around, but I was a young whipper-snapper back then. Now I'm plagued with sleep issues. Maybe with the ambein I can make this work. I'll set some goals for next week.

                          Successfully did Atkins in 1998 using 1992 copy of the book...before it was "hip". Lost 60lbs, exercised daily, felt and looked great. And then I moved in with a junk-food loving man, my mom got sick and passed away, then I suffered a spinal cord injury, and junk-food dude left me...and now I weigh 292lbs. That's 22lbs MORE than I weighed the first time around. It's 10 years later...I know this will work for me again.
