    Re: Roll Call 3/12/09

    Happy Thursday STAC'ers.

Welcome to the new faces. It is good to have you here.

Yesterday I was overwhelmed but manged to end up having a decent day. Only I didn't eat much.... I had a couple peanut butter whey protein cookies when I got up and then didn't eat until 1:30 pm. I then only had a bowl of vegi soup w/steak & ham and cheese metled..... For dinner I had smkd pork butt shredded into alfredo sauce over oven roasted yellow squash and zuchini. I also had 4 very tiny oven roasted baby potatoes. Bad Julie but they were sooo good. Those were the first startchy veg I have had since Jan 2nd. I don't feel to guilty. I wont have any more for a long time. After that I had the munchies. I am sure that was body reacting to starch.

I am looking fwd to my weigh in tomorrow. I checked the scale today and was happy again.

    Have a great day gang.

    Julie

      Good Day everyone

It is 1 in the afternoon here in Edmonton. And uit is warming up nicely! (Have Imentioned I want to move to FLORIDA?? I was sooo born for that weatehr...)

Tomorrow marks my day 21 of my return to this WOE. That excites me! but guess what? It will be my first HUGE challenge. I got tickets to take my family to the Edmonton Rush (lacross) game tomorrow night at Rexall Place. I am going to try and be very strong... but does anyone have any suggestions? YOu are not allowed to take any outside food or beverages to the venue....

Anyway, Loving OWL rung 1! It is treating me well I think... won't know for sure until weigh in on Minday... (sooooo hard for a scale slave like me... welll EX scale slave I guess!)

        Hello Everyone

Today is my 70th cheat free day!!!
I feel extremely great about this, as you can imagine!!

I weighed in at 207 again this morning - 2 mornings in a row so I'll claim that loss
Even though I see continued weight loss, I'm feeling a bit bummed today. Maybe it's the full moon.
Last evening I pulled out some jeans that weren't fitting before (or were tight) and they were loosely comfortable (I'm wearing a pair today, they've loosened up more and I wish I'd worn a belt!). Anyway - the sizes of these jeans are HUGE! In my mind I had thought I would be fitting into a smaller size so was dissapointed that they weren't baggier I mean... officially I've lost 24 pounds (I suspect it might be closer to 28 - first weigh in seemed low to me)... that's a good amount. Not as dramatic as some people, but I'm happy. But to not see that reflected in my clothing as much as I would like is very discouraging

The trick is to not let these feelings of discouragement drag me down! I'm aiming for 100 cheat-free days and I'll make it!!

We have some new posters today - that's great! BBBelly, Jessica and (I think) Erin... welcome! (sorry if I've missed anyone else!)

Okay everyone... keep up the great work!

Good Evening from the chilly state of Michigan. I started atkin again for the second time . Been going good for two weeks this saturday. I really want to do it this time. I tried celery and cream cheese yesterday for luch it was awesome. I have been staying away from celery because i heard it would make me retain water but it didnt and it really helps with the hunger. I am really happy to find this site it has alot of good information and tips. I just have a question does coconut oil make your food taste like coconuts i was hoping not but want to ask. Thanks Paula

I wouldn't say coconut oil makes your food taste like coconuts but it does have a slightly sweet taste. Slight. It's ok. It's allowed and it's really good for you!! I don't cook with it much. I take it straight off the spoon. That was hard to get used to at first but I'm loving the energy boost it gives me and the straight coconut oil down the hatch isn't nearly as bad as some of the foods I've tried that I didn't like on this WOE!!! It's great for your skin, regularity, your hair, nails, immune system, regulates your glucose levels, too many benefits to list. I only cook salmon with it....other than that, it's on a spoon!

                Re: Roll Call 3/12/09

I am here, just late to the board

This Monday will mark my 3 weeks and I will weigh and measure as
I have not done either since I began, but I know its working as
I need to tighten up my belt a couple extra notches.

I will also update my ticker, I KNOW I have lost more, just without
getting on the scale I have not changed it yet.

As most know, I am not doing induction perfect, I do have my wine in
the evening, but for 97% I am right on.

The first week I only concentrated on getting my carbs under 20
and its only been the last 2 weeks I have been doing the treadmill.

So in a couple days I will update my ticker for all the world to see.

And if its not a good amount gone, I am prepared to hear people say
"Lay off the wine" : ) But even with a little lose, I know I have lost
                several inches.

Have a great Weekend all !!

Vickie...Last time I did Atkins I lost 40lbs.. I was wearing a size 26/28 and they were falling off of me so I went shopping and thought I would at least get a 22/24.. NOPE.. I had to buy ALL 26/28's...I was so upset...and discouraged.. The makers of clothes are just doing something to them its frustrating...

Hey all. I know it's late but I'm still checking in. I had the most horrible day at work today (Im a Vet Tech) so Im very emotional and stressed out. Normally I would be stuffing my face with crap right now, but I'm holding up ok. I decided I would just come here and check in instead. It's rough though. Old habits die hard. Anyway, sorry so gloomy.

And WELCOME to all the new members!

Good evening, everyone! I am so happy today. I woke up to a 2 pound whoosh. It may have been caused by my upset emotions. Most of the time when I get upset, I eat. This time I couldn't eat. I did make sure I ate enough to hold me over. Anyway, welcome to all the newbies. This is a great board to be in. Everyone has the best tips and advice, that I really miss being here if I am unable to check in.
Today has been cold and snowy here in Southwest Virginia. My daughter will be in tomorrow so I probably won't be checking in until Sunday. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

I had to go laptop shopping with my mom so I wasn't able to really eat until about an hour ago but I am catching up on my water and food - it is crazy how the craving sneak in when you are hungry!
