  • I am back, after 2 years

    Hi everyone,

So I’ve finally got the courage to restart the Atkins lifestyle after two years of being off the waggon or at least visit the forum.
I have been trying to get back on track but without support its not easy. I plan on starting induction as soon as possible, I need to prepare mentally and then clear out all temptation from my kitchen.
I think my failure to stick to the lifestyle was as a result of boredom, I stayed on induction longer than I should have and also my lifestyle at the time.

This time around I’ve made major changes to my lifestyle (stopped drinking a year ago and stopped smoking a few weeks ago), meaning I am exercising more and drinking more water. I now need to sort my eating habits. At the moment my diet consist of bread, cheese, chocolate and some fruit (hence the reason to prepare mentally).

    Tom, thanks for your email.

Re: I am back, after 2 years

        Hi All,
I am back as well...I had great success on lo-carb ( down to 133 lbs. and size 4) then , for some crazy reason, last June (200 I decided that I could do lo-cal. Well, my weight creeped up to my current 149 and I am unhappy and disgusted with myself. I am not tall ( 5'3-5'4) and just had to buy pants in a size 10 P, which really depressed me. I have had a few false starts...did induction for 1 week, lost about 2 pounds, then stopped...this happened about 4 times in the last 4 months! But after this dressing room episode I really am ready to re-commit. I am taking my family to Disney April 6 and can't even imagine wearing shorts or a bathing suit. So, I am ready ...the 'golden chance' thing scares me...will this work? Should I do weight watchers or something? I think I can get through the two weeks of induction...I love to drink red wine with dinner, but I will just have to give that up for two weeks...I am happy to be part of this discussion and look forward to getting to know others and supporting and being supported.
