  • Energy problem...but I think I know the solution.

I posted in one of the roll calls about how tired I was yesterday and how I knew I had not eaten enough this weekend and thought most likely I didn't get enough carbs in...well, the issue kinda improved today, but I think I've learned something about myself.

So yesterday, I really upped my veggie intake...had celery and cream cheese for a midmorning snack, homemade taco salad for lunch and huge serving of broccoli with my chicken dinner...along with other added carbs in my intake throughout the day.

Today, I felt better than yesterday, but still very very tired. I'm relatively sure it's not dehydration because I'm drinking lots of water and I'm not feeling the headaches or muscle spasms I personally get with dehydration. I have, however, been EXTREMELY chilly while at work. This morning it was so bad I was wearing gloves and a jacket in the office. Exhaused and freezing cold does not make a productive employee...I was a zombee!

    Until lunch.

Lunch I was taken out to Red Robin by some girlfriends for my birthday. I ordered a Chicken Caesar salad with no croutons. It was a HUGE amount of lettuce...probably at least 3 cups worth...but I ate all but 1/2 a cup of it...delicous by the way. Well...by 2pm, I started to feel some energy and I was no longer wearing the jacket and gloves back at the office. My mood was elevated the rest of the day and I did chores while making dinner and plan on doing some very minor weights tonight while I watch tv.

So I think what I've discovered is that not only did I not get enough carbs over the weekend...therefore making me feel horrible yesterday...but I also need to be eating more with each meal through the day, to include breakfast. For breakfast today I had an egg, 2 pieces of bacon and a slice of cheese. I think I need to throw a veggies serving in with breakfast.

What do ya'll think...have you noticed this for yourselves???

I'm in my 3rd week so am only at the point of adding 5 grams of additional veggie carbs...and I think I've successfully done that so far...still burning ketones.

And then I moved in with a junk-food loving man, my mom got sick and passed away, then I suffered a spinal cord injury, and junk-food dude left me...and now I weigh 292lbs. That's 22lbs MORE than I weighed the first time around. It's 10 years later...I know this will work for me again.

I have always felt very energetic on this WOE. I did have a period between weeks 3 and 4 where I wasn't eating enough and got dizzy working out. Make sure you use fitday when you think something weird is going on. You can usually tell from logging a day or two of food intake if there is a problem.

You're probably right, you're not eating enough. Try incorporating some veggies in with your breakfast. I find sausage and brussel sprouts are a good combo.

I love those salads at Red Robin! Yummy! And they are huge!

      Happy belated birthday!

Well...I ate cauliflower for breakfast today...not your normal breakfast, but I THINK it worked! I did not put on the little jacket at all today...and my hands weren't freezing either.

Brussell sprouts, eh? Interesting. I've never actually tried those...but I heard a chef say to try roasting them and you'll adore them...so I'm gonna try that one day.

One of my favorite "mac n cheese" faux replacements is cauliflower with cheese...mixed with a cut up hot dogs. Sounds insane, I know...but I love it. That's what I ate for breakfast. The dog was 2 carbs, 1.5 oz of cheese and about 1.5 cups of cauliflower. Mmmmm....better than eggs again, lemme tell ya! LOL
