    More often than not the DARKER colors mean you're not getting enough water...not that you're in a deeper ketosis. Increase your water intake, stick with the plan, and be happy with the ketostix colors somewhere in the middle.

        Hi everyone!

        I'm checking in late... but I'm here

        I'm making pork rind chicken right now... I think I posted the recipe on here before....
        Maybe not, I just looked for it... But you crush up prok rinds really fine (using a rolling pin and a big ziplock bag) and add in parmesan cheese, italian seasoning, season salt, and garlic powder... dip the chicken in egg then coat it in the mixture and bake at 400* flipping once halfway through... and viola... BOMB A$$ CHICKEN

          here and SO exhausted. I went out of town to catch a concert and got home at 4 am. totally worth it though.

          went to a mexican food buffet, and stayed on-plan! I had a bite of this chipotle chicken (I took maybe a tablespoon) that i'm pretty sure had sugar in the sauce. but everything else was clean, so far as my now-sweet-sensitive tastebuds could tell.

          now I have a bunch of meat in the oven and am going to cook up some chayote! mmmmmmm!

            Ditto to what NewToAtkins said... darker purple often suggests a little dehydration.

            When you're using the sticks, colour doesn't matter - you're either in ketosis, or your not. So... colour or no colour. The range of colour isn't a concern for us. Remember... these sticks were originally made to monitor a totally different thing (for diabetics, I believe) so the range of colour would have meaning for that assessment, only... not for us. Makes sense?

            Also... about the Atkins Bars...
            They shouldn't blow you completely off plan. The problem with Atkins Bars is that they're frankenfoods. In a complete pinch you could consider consuming them (I wouldn't simply because I don't like the way they taste) - but the real trick is planning properly so you don't miss a meal OR having legal snacks in your bag "just in case".

            BUT... some people DO stall when they eat these foods. I suspect you didn't, but steering clear of the ABs are really the best preventative measure you can take in the event they do affect your weighloss.

            So know you know

            Here I am... happy and doing well.

            I have a long day because I have to attend a pot-luck dinner function planned for my students and their mentors. I'd rather just go home! I'm eating my lunch late so that I'll be less hungry AND I've come prepared with my own chicken to nibble on.

            Still sitting at 204 - it's been close to a week now. It's obviously not a stall... just a wee plateau... but I'm anxiously waiting for 203, et.al.!!

            Still struggling with my water intake... bad me!

              I got out of the bed this morning and felt FAT!!!! But when I got on the scale, I weighed the same. I guess it was just water retention. I am still drinking my water, and getting as much in as I can. I also rode my bike this evening so maybe tomorrow, I'll wake up skinnier. Anyway, my clothes are a lot looser now, and I'm managing to stay away from all the pies that my Mom likes to bake on a weekly basis. I am so proud of myself for not cheating on that. They look and smell so good. She told me that she doesn't worry about me eating any because I have been so faithful to this WOE. Well, here's to another day of the Atkins way. Gotta love it!!

                Checking in....down a pound today but I'm looking for MORE!!! My body is so much stronger and I'm waiting for all these hard muscles to burn the rest of my fat off!! I'm still loving the steaks but will run out of the luxury within about a week. At some point, I may have to attempt to institute TJ's Michelob Ultra weight loss nudge. I tried one low carb beer ONCE, but got sick....shrimp and butter. It was nasty and I haven't been able to open another beer since!! Hope all of you had a great day. The great new is...the weekend is almost here!!!

                    Checking in... down a pound but not feeling good at all. I put off eating so long that I start feeling light headed and I lose interest in eating legal foods. But, I didn't cheat so there is hope. Tomorrow I will eat before that point, and drink water... and get some walking in. Boy, I have a lot to do tomorrow! I did go to the library tonight and finally got the right books; Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution and Atkins for life low-carb cookbook. I already had The All-New Atkins Advantage but I am guessing that has a different approach?
