Good morning all! Here's to a hopefully beautiful day untainted by black clouds, hail and tornado watches!!! Yuck! Was hoping to play in the dirt today and garden but I have only one thumb that's working so every task is painful. I never realized how important your thumbs are for pulling up your pants. Don't know what I'll do at work tomorrow!!

All good here. It's a nice sunny day. I have already drunk 2 litres of water, taken my vits and made some extra healthy food choices. The kids are just having lunch and then I think we'll go out for a walk and take in some sunshine - although it will be cold!

Thanks Zarabelle! It's one of those injuries you'd have to see to believe. I've jammed my thumb before and this is worse. Wouldn't be surprised if it's broken but there's no sense in it costing me money. I injured it at the top knuckle close to the nail bed. It's purple and black and swollen!!! The skin is shiny because of the swelling....it's stretched out as far as it can be!! It was swollen last night but I never would've imagined it COULD get THIS big! Hope you do get in some sunshine!! It does make you feel great when you begin your day with several healthy choices!! Cold here too. It was in the mid 70's here yesterday afternoon and now it's 40 degrees!! I had to turn the heat on last night!

Our Chinese Restaurant has a small lowcarb section on the menu it says with no sugar or flour.. So check yours out.. Supposedly you can ask them to do things different for you.. Good Morning.. Its a cloudy ugly day again... I NEED sun!
Well today is weigh day I am down 2lbs.. I want it to be more.. I have been so good... I lost 12, 1 and then 2lbs.. I hate when my body does this.. I keep telling myself..you still lost 15 in one month and if you do that each month you will be below 200 by the end of summer.... So I keep on keeping on...
I did exercise 4 days this week which I am proud

Oh Dana!!! God bless you!! Chinese food got me to my start weight. Love it, love it, love it! Lived in Asia for 2 years and I miss it!!! ALTHOUGH, I will tell you while there, all Americans were always in search of a break from it seeking out the restaurants with the best cheeseburgers and pizza! Usually you could only find a good substitute at a bar.
There are some links on the board for what you can have from a chinese restaurant. Are you leaning that way or going for some entirely different foods?

Sandy, I lost my 3rd pound for the month this morning, so hang in there. I think I've probably lost about 30 this month and gained 27. I've been hovering between 196.6 and 199.4 all month. Today I saw 195.8, so I'll claim 196. Ribeye therapy works!
More laundry on the schedule for today, and if it stays nice, perhaps some weed whacking and edging. We had a much needed rainfall last night and I got weed and feed down before it started. Hopefully my lawn will start getting back to normal. I hate having a crappy lawn.
I bruised the back of my neck lifting weights Friday night. What a stupid injury. I was doing squats and put the weight bar across my shoulders and now the back of my neck is all sore and purple. It hurts every time I move my head. Not serious pain, but certainly nagging. I guess I'll put a towel across my shoulders next time like I'm supposed to. I'm doing the ribeye therapy tonight for supper. Morning is Weigh Day and I can't say this has been the most "ON PLAN" week of my life.

Just for the record, today is my three year anniversary with no Booze! I was just thinking how much easier it was to lose weight when I drank my supper. Mmm, vodka and diet coke for supper and the weight just fell off.

Good grief, Kelly!!! Don't give me any ideas!!!!!!!!! I'm on Rung 5 and all I've managed to do with it is drink one low carb beer and throw up that and shrimp and butter. YAY!! I actually only got 2/3 of the bottle down! The other 5 bottles have been staring at me from the fridge ever since! Maybe I don't need Rung 5. Well, my first time around was in October of 04. I weighed 210+. By Feb 05, I was at 170.
Every morning I cooked for myself and my assistant. We had huge omelets with bacon and cheese. I cooked lunch every day--some kind of meat, vegetable, and salad. Then that was it. I didn't eat after lunch. And I lost 4-5 pounds a week. (I had a kitchen in my classroom back then. I don't anymore.)
It's not so easy anymore. Especially since I quit smoking and I feel like I have no way to "reward myself" anymore except for food. And I'm trying to get over rewarding myself with food. Sigh.

Kibs is sulking today.
i bounced around between 216 and 218 for my entire second week of induction plus some. 8 or 9 days of this. three days ago i hit 215.5 and thought i'd finally broken through the second week stall. the next day, 217. today? 218.7! i'm BACK to the weight i was on like day six, and its day eighteen.
i havent cheated once. not once. i haven't been drinking diet cokes either, i've been working out almost every day, i even resisted theses blankityblank french fries and bbq hot wings my family got for dinner the other day, and all the dr pepper they brought over and LEFT here. i haven't touched -any- of it. i'm starting to wonder when all this blanking willpower is going to pay off...
p.s. i finally got a measuring tape yesterday so i have my measurements now, but it doesn't help for knowing if i've already lost some
i wish i knew -what the deal is-.
i'm about to cut out all salt, all cheese, and stick to arund 200oz a day because i'm tired of this being the first time i've tried atkins where i've really worked my butt off to do it right, and nothing's happening. i wouldn't mind the not losing, so much as i mind the -gaining-. i lost more than this when i -was- cheating. thats stupid. *continues with the sulking*F/24/5'10"

Holy crap, Kibs!! I'm gonna reach down and pull you outta that pity pool!! C'mon, you know you're doing things right. If it was all easy all the time, more idiots would attempt this WOE. Personally, I'm glad there's some degree of difficulty to this WOE or this board would be FULL of idiots!! You're doing great! What you need is the scale free challenge. It's a little piece of metal and plastic. It's home is on the floor. Don't give it so much power! Seriously, the way you're feeling is due to the scale reading. Too many factors to consider....as I said in your journal, water retention due to the great increase in exercise, where you're at with you cycle, your body adjusting to the newness of it all. I don't think it's ever as easy as it was that first time we tried this WOE. Comes with the territory. That's just the way it is for many of us! Wish I was there. Morning Everyone. Im still hovering at 192. I would get discouraged about it, but I know Im a wait and whoosh type person, so I'll just hang in there. My husband cooked my favorite for breakfast - yummy scrambled eggs with Feta cheese! He's the man.
The menu for the rest of the day is chicken salad for lunch and T Bone steaks with sauteed mushrooms and onions for dinner, with green beans on the side. YUM.
Its really disgusting outside today, and I hear we're expecting a SNOW/rain mix. YUCK. Im over the cold weather.
Sandy - Hang in there! Your doing great. Way to go on your exercise!
EL - Sorry to hear about your thumb. OUCH! Hope it heals soon!

Hi all,
Haven't posted in a while, but still on plan. Weight has been fairly stuck but am exercising more and lost .5 pound since I last posted. I have six more weeks of colllege then out for the summer, going to try to really focus on exercise over the summer break and try to go back to school in the fall near goal!!
