  • Tabbouleh?

    hello everyone

im still in induction and need a change of pace salad wise and i love tabbouleh and i can make it in a way that could be induction friendly but the acceptable foods list doesnt list parsley. But in the book Dr.Atkins lists parsley as one of the fresh herbs you can use for your food but i think he didnt mean for alot to be used.

the ingredients would be half a bunch of parsley, a little bit of green onions, a quarter of a tomato and some olive oil and lemon juice.

would you think that would be okay for induction? I could try to measure out the quantities but parsley is sooo light and the green onions used is so minimal as well as the tomatoes.

    Thanks in advance

whereami, I hate to burst your bubble, but bulgar isn't allowed on induction... not till you get way up to OWL Rung 9.

But the rest of your ingredients would be fine.

the ingredients would be half a bunch of parsley, a little bit of green onions, a quarter of a tomato and some olive oil and lemon juice.

        Re: Tabbouleh?

If you go to fitday.com, you can set up an account where you can enter all the ingredients and it will automatically calculate the carbs for you.

Then, down at the bottom, under your food list, it will also tell you how many grams of fiber are in the food.

You simply subtract the fiber grams from the total carb grams, and that gives you your net carbs.

It takes a little getting used to using Fitday, but once you get the hang of it, it is fast and is an amazing tool!

You can use parsley. Just count the carbs.

the ingredients would be half a bunch of parsley, a little bit of green onions, a quarter of a tomato and some olive oil and lemon juice.
Choose an empty day in FitDay, enter these ingredients and see what comes out for the whole recipe. You can measure parsley in cups too, so no need to weigh it.
