    Off to a hurried start today - not looking forward to going back to work today. Mondays are always bad in my office - lots O drama

    Good morning everyone. Rainy day here in New England. I'm off to a physical therapy appt & then may go to work depending on how the appt goes. Other than that food is planned for the day & my H20 bottles are all filled up.

        Good morning all,
        well I like mondays everyone is off to work/school and i get the house to myself. I have been bouncing between 220-221 since 3/10/2009 it is begining to tick me off why it only moves +/-.4 .8 everyday. I walk a mile a day eat only allowed foods and drink so much water that i have noticed every flaw in my bathroom. I dont know what to do to knudge it. walk more eat more? my fit day has me at f-69/c-3/p-26 today. 1372 calories. i bought the downloaded one so its on my computer screen all the time like the weight Gods are watching me. Does anyone have any tricks on moving this along its getting so hard to stick with it. I am starting to convince myself that i dont look so bad fat when i know i look terrible. Yes some inches are off but not very much mostly my ribcage area down 2" waist 1 1/2 hips pretty much the same bicep down 1" but i have walked 1 mile every day and was a couch potatoe before the treadmill. I have been on atkins since 3/3/09 I know i made mistakes in the begining (the atkins bars and shakes)
        but dang that was a couple weeks ago... Please someone tell me what more i can do? I cant eat eggs,fish,or fowl basically a beef,pork,cheddar cheese and veggie person. I really need help. I want to change my life.

          I love that this thing is still going so strong. You guys are amazing and I know if you work hard and stay focused on building a great life with food and low carbing I KNOW IT WILL HAPPEN.

              Ruthanne, this one's too easy. Most people hit a plateau between weeks 3 and 5. You're there, it'll pass be patient. Secondly, inches lost are much better than pounds lost. The scale won't tell you you're skinny, people will. I can't look at you and see pounds lost, but I can see inches.

              Once again, no pounds lost for me, but I'm still melting. I worked out hard over the weekend, ending with shoulders and abs. This morning our command PT worked out shoulders and abs again. I felt like I was going to die. I thought I was over the flu, but I was at Walmart at 2 AM buying cough suppressant so I could get to sleep. I think I managed about 2 hours of sleep last night. I'm dragging butt today.

                Good morning. I am home at last from my trip last week. It was a challenge to eat low carb while traveling but I think I did a pretty good job. Total weight loss from 2 weeks of induction was 18lbs. on to the next step.

                  Good Morning.. I too had a hurried morning and got to Water aerobics by the skin of my teeth.. I was about ready to go back home and go to bed..

                  I thought you are suppose to be energized after a workout...I need a NAP!...lol

                      i do see the inches change.. ( on the tape measure not so much in the mirror) i just dont understand the weight not moving. I guess that part really confuses me. Where can i find more info on the stall in weight but inches coming off...will there be a loss anytime soon?
                      lol can i have a 29" waist and weigh 221 cuz that works for me lol

                        oh heres a great cough supressant and let me tell you it works its weird but it works take some of the vicks vapor rub or the generic stuff rub it on the bottom of your feet and put some socks on when you go to bed. NO lie it works. My son was up coughing so many nights i was ready to lose it. I searched on the internet and came across it. well i thought that was insane, one night i got up cuz he was hacking up a fricken hair ball rubbed it on the bottom of his feet put socks on and well.. he had stopped no cough at all. When i quit smoking i had a terrible cough that woke me up at night...well i tried it and it really does work. I have no clue why it works i dont get the vapors which usually started a asthma attack so its not that,i have no idea why it supresses the cough.

                          Hi All,

                          Started yesterday for the second time. Lost 24 pounds the first month at the first of last year until I decided to celebrate with a couple of drinks! We all know how that worked out....lol Have been trying to start ever since.

                          Now I've made a $1000 bet with my buddy for what weight we'll be at on Aug 1st. I have to lose 55lbs......I don't think it will be a problem. I will be here everyday for motivation. I'm at 240 and have to be at 185... Wish me luck!!!!!

                            Ruthanne! Your inches lost are INCREDIBLE! There is a post somewhere about "Post Induction Stall Syndrome"...I think I had it for a couple days, but for some people it lingers. Just keep doing what your doing, your body will catch up. With inches lost like that, you should be very proud!

                            As for me...I guess I didn't need to worry about a monday weight gain from all my hard workouts this weekend...cuz I'm down to 277.6...I couldn't believe it for myself! But....I'm not booking it until friday...since I said that is my new weigh in day. What an awesome way to start the week though.

                            My workouts were fantastic. I did 15 minutes on the eliptical saturday and...gulp...20 MINUTES yesterday! I have no idea if I'll be able to repeat that, but I'm sure gonna try! I did arm weights saturday enough to make me sore even still today...so I'm doing something right! YAY! Today my booty hurts...so I did my "simple" lower body exercises right too...not bad for a girl with a spinal cord injury!

                            Breakfast was one of my "egg, sausage, cheese and cauliflower muffins" (I gotta find a shorter way of saying that!), looks like lunch will likely be roast beef heated with swiss cheese, served on a lettuce leaf with maybe a side of green beans. Dinner will be steak and maybe a salad??? I'm also going to have pumpkin cheesecake sometime today, and I have celery and cream cheese packed in case I need a snack.

                            I didn't have steak last night as planned cuz I made a bizarre dinner that worked out pretty good. Some time ago I bought these turkey and chicken meatballs (brand name Aidells) from a natural food store. These are the chipotle kind. I knew from experience they were super spicey. Anyway, I pulled them out of the freezer trying to think of how to prepare them. Well...I ended up heating them up and them cutting them into 4 pieces and making a taco salad out of it. I wanted the sour cream to cool down the spiceyness. It was pretty good...my only issue was that I made too much and had to throw some out. The package I had was zero net carb...but I just looked online and they have changed their Nutrition info to show they are now 1 net carb...either way, it was good for something different.

                            As for rungs...I can't decide if I'm really on Rung 3 now since I didn't truly add anything from rung 2...or if I should hang out in 2 another week and give something new a go. I supposed I could work in some Ricotta somewhere...it just seemed so high in carbs that it wasn't gonna be worth the effort. I couldn't find any low-carb yogurt...and I don't think I'd be too thrilled to have it without fruit anyway. Any thoughts on where I should be?

                            Successfully did Atkins in 1998 using 1992 copy of the book...before it was "hip". Lost 60lbs, exercised daily, felt and looked great. And then I moved in with a junk-food loving man, my mom got sick and passed away, then I suffered a spinal cord injury, and junk-food dude left me...and now I weigh 292lbs. That's 22lbs MORE than I weighed the first time around. It's 10 years later...I know this will work for me again.

                              hello all! day 19 still going strong. not looking at the scale till next weekend, as i have a big time case of the post induction stall. well, more like the post induction roller coaster. i finally got my measurements taken, unfortunately about 2 weeks too late, so i have no idea how many i lost during 2 week induction. but i'm excited to see my measurements change, and trying not to focus on the weight as much.
