  • Well here I am again.......

    I don't know why I am posting in the second time around forum cause I've actually NEVER gone thru the induction phase of the program... well not completed it.. I got to day 12 the first time then fell off the wagon.. got all gungho a short time ago and didn't follow thru... but the last day or two I've been thinking about Atkins again... today I did a 1/2 hearted attempt at it and started reading the book again this afternoon... so tonight for dinner I had a couple of hamburger patties with some onion & mayo, salad and 1 oz of cheese.... I so need to lose weight... I'm 203 lbs, 5 ft 5, 39 this year with three small children all under 4.... I trying hard to find the will power to stay the distance... I'm not sure when I'll start exercising but might shoot for the morning... I filled the refrigerator / freezer with Atkins friendly stuff this weekend while contemplating my next move.. figured if I decided to follow thru that atleast I had the right food to do it!!!!! Now tonight I'm going to go decafe coffee, half/half, get a bone in ham, some more cheese, a couple of cucumbers and sprouts... need some more variety... hamburger patties are already getting old... I hate hate hate eggs, fish and seafood so this is where I got stuck the time I actually did 12 days of induction... I got bored with the same ole food... gonna have to be more creative this time!!!!

    I never had a problem with my weight until I had kids... now I just can't seem to stop eating the crap that made me this fat to begin with... my relationship with food has changed... I've been thinking about that too lately... when I ate 2 hamburgers, homemade french fries and ranch style beans... I started thinking NO wonder I can't lose any weight... hello TWO DANG HAMBURGERS... who needs two hamburgers in one sitting????? I have to change my relationship with food... I've become a stress eater... how do you not have stress with twin 3 year olds and a 1 year old???

    If you got this far.. thanks... I'm really really trying this time!!!

    Hey Cheryl, glad you posted. You know half and half isn't allowed, using just a tad bit of heavy cream is much better, with less carbs.
    Try looking through our cookbook, there are a million recipes for chicken, so many you may start clucking. Also Linda has a great site also

      Welcome Cheryl... I think one thing you have to tell yourself is that you NEED to take care of you... I am the same age as you and the same height and I would be exhausted having 3 kids under the age of 4 so I totally understand what your feeling.. But even when I was younger.. I did not take care of my kids mother..now they are 19 and 16 and I am still overweight..

      When we moms take care of ourselves our kids will have better mothers... Make YOU a priority.. Don't go gung ho on the exercise this week..just start doing the food... Baby steps will get you there...

        I started this WOL on March 2nd 2009 at the exact same height and the exact same weight as you... I've lost 20 pounds so far More importantly, i've lost several inches from my waist hips and thighs... that's the best part! Stick with it Cheryl - you can do this!!

          Thanks ladies... I thought half n half was allowed... CRUD!!! okay does the heavy cream say heavy cream I've NEVER looked for that before.. I know...

          I did very well today...

          breakfast some bacon - I read the label zero carbs...
          lunch chicken salad with mayo, a very little onion/celery, 1 oz of cheddar cheese
          snack I ate cheese again... we were at the park for lunch so I packed the lunch for us so I didn't go to a fast food place and lose it..
          dinner I had 2 small hamburger patties, and my salad... very good salad I might add...

          I am also taking the vitamins without iron and an extra potassium vitamin.. last time I got leg cramps really bad so I am trying to nip that in the bud!!!

          Well thank you very much for the support... I will continue to post here trying to keep me on track... I measured myself today so that's done...

              Cheryl, welcome to ADBB! Just stick with it and us, and you will do fine. This WOE is wonderful because of the way it makes you feel and look in no time at all. Just read your DANDR, follow it closely, and post as much as you want. You'll find great advice and support here. Good luck!
