  • Roll Call 4/9/09..

Ok I was absent for a couple weeks but gave TJ my word in a message that I will be here today, what better way then to start the roll call ?

I have been doing low carb as in under 20, but I have not been getting my veggies or enough water and for some strange reason after 2 weeks of good workouts I just stopped ???

My trip to teach English overseas has been postponed for 3 months,
I look to this as a blessing and a second chance to lose some of this baggage before I go.

ALL of you are a GREAT support, but in the end, If it is to be, its up to me.

Fresh start today ! Game On !

Good morning, everyone! It's WAY early for me! Have to be at work early so I'm thinking weighing in on the weekend is the way to go! Somehow a 3 am weigh in isn't an appealing idea! Hope you all have a great day, on plan of course!! Tomorrow is Friday!! Doesn't that sound good?

Good morning~~I think. Knowing tomorrow is Friday helped me get out of bed. Not enough veggies yesterday so something for me to focus on today.

Have a wonderful day & don't forget to drink your H20. Will someone please direct some sunlight to the New England please!

            Re: Roll Call 4/9/09..

Good Morning.. I am so looking forward to weigh in day on Sunday.. I keep peeking at the scales and they are finally being nice to me.. But I won't claim the weight loss until Sunday..

Congrats Dana on getting to One-derland..

I have to tell you remember I said we bake cookies at work to give out when people check in.. Its not bothering me at all...

I do need to work on easy to eat kind of foods though...because the microwave is across the street and I don't have a lot of free time to just chow down.. I personally think I am not eating enough but yet I am not hungry...

            Have a great day!

                  Happy Thursday STAC'ers

Yesterday morning I had finished my post for roll call and when I went to preview it I was booted off. I spent most of yesterday trying to get back on line and numerous phone calls with my local provider..... I was not a happy camper and just an FYI if you call when you are angry and then yell at those poor guys they make you hold for a long long time

At any rate I am here and checking in.

I had a small booboo after my food show which has caused me to go back to induction for a few days (not a big deal for me). I have not weighed since last Friday so maybe I will have some good news. All of my clothes are too big at this point (even my Levis). My friends sat me down and told me I needed to get some new clothes.... I decided to try to go second hand shopping this weekend. I don't want to waste my money on temporary clothes. I am now wearing an XL top instead of a W2X. I would guess I am in a W16 in jeans down from a W20. My coat is even baggy- so I feel happy about it.

I made a nice pot of vegi soup yesterday and this morning I am having a scramble with 2 kinds of sausage, mushrooms, and onions.

Today I have a lot of work to do, but I am planning my food so I don't have any food accidents like I did the other day.

                  Peace,

                  Julie

Julie, the needing new clothes thing is awesome! LOL...I love that your friends held an intervention.

Kibskix, congrats on the great loss!

                    Naeemah and koober, welcome back!

Dana...congrats on onderland! I hope to join you there someday!

Well here I am...one day away from my weigh in day and the scale is still up almost 3 pounds. My ankles are looking more human again though...it's very possible that this is now due to my TOM...cuz I looked at my calendar last night and it's actually due today or tomorrow. Shocking...I could have SWORN I just had it. I will be very grateful if all this has really only been because of that.

And now for the really annoying news. I saw my PT yesterday about my hip pain. I knew the cause of it was posterior pelvic torsion because I've gone through this before and have a handy exercise to fix it on my own. The problem has been that the exercise stopped fixing it. Well...PT says that while my improvement from 4 minutes to 25 minutes on the elliptical is amazing given my neurological issues, I'm doing too much and fatiguing my muscles to the point that they can't "hold the fix" and that's why I'm in constant pain now. He said i have to use the elliptical no more than 2 times a week for 15 minutes at a time for now (or 5 minutes daily). He says I need to slowly build it up to the point that it doesn't affect my hips. I know he's right because I haven't used it in 4 days now due to the heart monitor and my hip is feeling MUCH better. GAH! Now I need a new exercise. He highly recommended a recumbent bike...which I no longer have at home and don't have the space for...so I think it's time to start looking at gyms again. DANGIT! Grrrrr!!!! I'm wayyyyy tooo lazy for a gym.

So irritated...I finally get into a good groove and my damaged body rebels against me. I was sooooo proud of that improvement from 4 minutes to 25...and so was my PT, but he said as usual I'm trying to do too much. He said that it's typical of me, he is always having to hold me back. I just miss the days of being able bodied...and keep hoping that if I push harder, I'll be "normal" again. I've been doing this since day one of the injury...it's not working...you'd think I'd stop.

                    One MIGHT call me stubborn.

                    Realistic Final Goal: 190
                    Stretch Goal: 140

Successfully did Atkins in 1998 using 1992 copy of the book...before it was "hip". Lost 60lbs, exercised daily, felt and looked great. And then I moved in with a junk-food loving man, my mom got sick and passed away, then I suffered a spinal cord injury, and junk-food dude left me...and now I weigh 292lbs. That's 22lbs MORE than I weighed the first time around. It's 10 years later...I know this will work for me again.

Spent the morning mucking about in the soil ... gardening season is going full tilt here and so are the moles ... they are industrious little buggers, I'll give 'em that. I think I need Napalm or something ... perhaps a blow torch.

                          Re: Roll Call 4/9/09..

Hey all! sounds like some great news going on here. I just got back from my Spring Break trip to Eastern North Carolina. I won't say anything about how I ate out there except it wasn't pretty.

I'm looking under every rock for motivation for these ten pounds. Anyone seen it? Motivation, where are you??? (And I'm NOT gettting on the scales so it's probably fifteen pounds by now.)

I'm going off in June with some friends from high school (twenty plus years ago) so that ought to provide some motivation.

                          Any ideas, STACERS?

                            Re: Roll Call 4/9/09..

Have yet to participate in a roll call, however, I feel this would be a great way to get into the hang of things here on the site and network with all of the inspiration that is this page.
I think I need to stop weighing in so much. I'm in now my fourth day of induction and I have been pretty steady with eating right and getting in my water. I've been a little discouraged as the scale hasn't revealed much of a difference, but TJ has kept me from going absolutely insane and saying "I QUIT"! I'm going to hold off weighing again until Sunday.
I use to do Atkins (straight induction) for two weeks prior to football season when I was in highschool and it always worked to kick those stubborn 10lbs that I would put on throughout the summer. Now that i'm older, i've packed on 60lbs of unwanted weight and i'm tired of it. I want to be back to my old self again for my wife and son, be healthy and around! So, i'm sticking to it! Just waiting for some results. THAT'S the part that is driving me crazy.... Not so much the food.... Just waiting for RESULTS!

                              Morning all.

Feeling a little under the weather today.

I've decided to take my own advice and I'm putting the scale away for a week. I promised myself that I'd move to weekly weigh-ins after induction, so it's time to keep that promise.

This water things is killing me! Any strategies for getting it all in? I'm struggling!

                              Have a good day everyone.
