  • So down

I worked my butt off 2 years ago to lose 72 lbs on atkins, my goal was 100, then i evened off, and stayed there for months, no matter wehat i did. then my wife got pregnant and i fell off the wagon

i have no gained 40lbs back of the 72

i am starting atkins again and working out tomorrow, but i have 3 kids now, no time, and prepping food on atkins takes forever and working out? who knows when

i now have 80lbs to lose to get to my goal weight and am just so down about it all

i know atkins inside and out, have done it many times in my life but the last time i came so close.

its prepping and cooking the food that kills me, tastes bad when i cook it, have no time to do it, etc

i hope i might be able to turn this around this time, but am posting because i already feel its over before it began

i am tired, achy, depressed, so overweight again

took me a YEAR to take of 72 lbs and 3 months to put on 40 WTF

ah well, thought i would post, probably won't again, starting again tomorrow. we will see what happens

i am so sick of eggs

You don't have to eat eggs. Breakfast can be absolutely anything. We often have last nights leftovers, sometimes soup, sometimes a salad. Just think out of the box

      Re: So down

breakfast has to be fast, or re heated at work, so i make an egg kiesh thing from atkins indutcion

eggs, sausage, flavoring, asparagus or spinach etc sprinkle cheese

just made it as a matter fo fact.

with a demanding job, family etc the problem i have is prep time for food and time to work out.

i am already very organized with time slots thru the day etc

also cannot afford to eat out every meal, which is at least easier to order a steak or wings and eat on the go

i have done Atkins off and on now for a decade so am intimately familiar with it

in every aspect it works for me and holds true

the shame of it is how hard it is to actually do in a busy work and home life

i am posting this time thru though becuase my goal is 80 lbs, i will get ketosis stick and be perfect. however this time is as hard as it could possibly be in my life

plus i am already sick of

      eggs
      steak
      mushrooms
      sausage
      broccoli
      etc

      from the last go round

        Re: So down

welcome back trock -- I'm sending you recipe sites that may help you....I don't find Atkins recipes take much time at all to make and there are several my family enjoys along with me. Like Desert said breakfast can be anything not just eggs....

You need to get your mind in a good place, you can't be defeated before you begin - you lost weight the last time, you can do it again - you just have to want to. As far as exercise you can walk stairs at home or work, park further from the building and walk, if you take public transportation get off 1 station before your normal stop and walk. Take time during lunch to done some toning exercises or walk then also.

Good luck --- you might want to try the STAC (second time around club) for encouragement and support.

          Thank you Carole

i guess i am coming off as defeated already, i apologize for that

its depressing to gain 40 lbs back in 3 months when it takes so long to take that amount off

its a never ending circle with me

and the funny thing is i thought i was in the STAC haha, sorry to bring every one down, i thought i was in the right club

wow, can't even get that right

Welcome back!! Glad you found your way home!! The great news is you didn't gain it ALL back plus a few more!! All of your objections can be overcome! That's great news!! It's only over right now if you allow it to be!!

No time? I know exactly what you mean. I'm a divorced mother of a needy 13 yr old boy. I have a mother who needs me to do this and that for her every frickin time I turn around. My father's passed and I have to meet her demands. She's disabled and she needs me. My grandparents are in their 80's and are in failing health. They need me more and more every day. My job is demanding without reimbursement in decent pay for that!! You know what? I decided in December, I'm taking care of me and I don't care who gets pissed off about it!! If I don't take care of me, I can't take care of them to the best of my ability. I owe it to me. I owe it to them. You make time for yourself and if that's not a priority, you haven't hit bottom yet. It will happen. Guess what? Tired, achy, depressed and so overweight are all solved by putting yourself first and making time. I know it's not a party in the beginning but commit to 30 days. You change or form a habit in 30 days. Anyone can do anything for 30 days.

Come here daily. We'll motivate and support you! Post on the board often. It will truly help you along your journey. Visit the STAC forum. It's the Second Time Around Club. For some, it's their third, fourth, fifth, whatever time around with Atkins. That does prove this is a lifestyle and not a fix. Post in the roll call daily!!

Second Time Around Club - Atkins Diet

Eggs? I haven't eaten one today!! When I had 3 yesterday, it was because I was craving French toast. So, I scrambled some up with splenda, vanilla and cinnamon. They were awesome!

Remember, the journey is what you make it. I say, "IT'S NOT OVER...UNTIL I WIN!!!!" The victory is there for the taking. You've got to claim it, work for it and then attain it. C'mon, stick with us! We'll help you get there!!

                  thank goodness!

i weighed in at 280 today, was 238 before. main goal is 200, 210 is high end. i am a 6' 2" man and if i could get to my goals and stay there i would be able to really enjoy life

by the way i am a huge fan of atkins, its been in my family since the 70's when my mom got one of the first book and did it

i just so wish it was easier to do, or that i had mroe time to cook with

normally its wings and anything i can grab and whip the bread off of, and then i just get tired of the 7 things my life allows me to eat with the time i have

i always thought someone would make a fortune opening a fast food atkins restaurant

Too bad!! Can't exactly make the oldest one cut up raw veggies for ya!! Does your wife work outside the home? Maybe you could sit down and have a heart to heart with her and tell her how bad you want this for you, her and the children. Ask for her support and ask if she's willing to help keep you track. That might include her helping with your menu and the preparation at times. Women are suckers for men who are needy sometimes, especially when they love them!! After all, part of your success is about being around longer to take care of them!! I wish you the best. If you need any suggestions on what to take along with you to work....

I know you're certainly not a newbie but variety helps!! I have to take snacks, especially when I have to stay the extra long hours at work!

                          thank you

she is actually quite supportive, and stays at home at this point with the kids

its me who derails myself each time

and isn't it amazing how FAST and how addictive the carbs really are? if i go off one time it becomes a 3 month binge

when i got within 20 or so i though i can take one day a week off.

and that turned into a 40 lbs binge
