    TGIF Everyone!!!

A few hours from now I'll be able to enjoy the wonderful warm spring weather here in CT! I plan on walking the shoreline today at lunch - I've waited all winter to get these days back where I can walk at work. My office building is right on the water with a mile long walking trail.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!!

Eat right and drink that water up

Dana! what a great way to exercise and not even know it!! Plus, think of the benefits of sunshine on your head. I was telling my students yesterday the importance of getting outside so the sunshine can manufacture Vitamin d. You're whole mood and outlook will improve.

I was taking my students out on the track for twenty minutes when our weather improved here, but they are too wild. They made me mad and it did NOT improve my mood and outlook so I canned the walks on the track...But anyway.....

Re: Roll Call 4/17/09 - Friday

Good morning!! I'm on plan and finally had a whooshie! Nothing to brag about though. I just got back to where I was before the carbfest on Sunday. Let me warn any of you who have not yet jumped off the wagon this time around. On Tuesday, I was up 8-9 pounds. I weighed 191 when I got up on Sunday. At one point this week, 200 came up on the scale. I don't care that it was only water. I NEVER EVER want to see that number again. Painful lesson....LEARNED.

I've got to weigh in tomorrow (or is it today?) for the 6WEC and take measurements. The really crappy part is....I feel like I cheated my results for the last week. Again....lesson learned, the hard way! I know it could've been several more pounds.

Breakfast was awesome this morn. A bowl of roast beef slathered in all the juices out of the slow cooker. The meat fell apart with a fork! A bowl of brocolli with butter. AWESOME!! I enjoyed it thoroughly! It's going to be a good day!! Enjoy yours and be good to yourselves!!

Re: Roll Call 4/17/09 - Friday

Ev, I know how you feel. I was 195 again for the second day in a row. I am melting away though. The 34's I bought last month are falling off me. They were tight last month when I bought them at 195. I just spent $500 on new uniforms too. The uniforms I was wearing made me look like a kid playing dress up in daddy's clothes. We just switched into a new style uniform and now I have some that fit. Damn I look good in uniform! Unfortunately we are switching again next month to the camoflage uniform that makes everyone look fat.

I'm getting a round of golf in today! I used to play 3 -4 days a week. This is only my second round since October. Sometimes life gets in the way. Hopefully a 4 -5 mile hike chasing a stupid little ball will get me to 194 or so. It's going to be a little emotional. My dad was my golfing buddy and it's my second round since he passed away. Hurts just to type it.

Slapshot, congrats on not being obese. I missed you hitting that goal. It was my first mini goal too. It feels great to just be severly overweight.

            Have a great day everyone!

Hi all, everything is going well. I have been on plan since the last of December and now feel that eating low carb is a lifestyle and not a diet. I can fit into my size 7 Wrangler jeans (can't walk, can't breathe, but can put them on and zip them up) and they should be wearable in about a week or two. That makes this cowgirl very happy!!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

                  I'm Baaaaaaaaack!!!

Damn it feels good to be back in here again. I apologize for the absence (unless there are those of you who were glad to be rid of me...in that case I apologize for coming back!). Anyway, I went on a 3 week trek off plan, but still refused all the desserts, donuts, and snacky stuff. I did manage to eat some of the anti-atkins meal - seafood alfredo. Tasted good, but hurt so bad!

Anyway, I started back at an official weigh in of 284 and today I was at 279. I'm planning to eat more this time around, increase the water and the fat, and take my vitamins every day, and stay totally on plan. 30 pounds by the end of school is my goal....

                  Thanks for the open arms!

                      TGIF STAC'ers

Yesterday ended up being a painful day that required a pain pill and a muscle relaxer. I have another one of those big days today.

I am also joing the 6WEC starting Sunday. It is a good time for me. In 2 more weeks my work schedule will slow down a bit and I really need to start working my core. My knee has been pretty good for the last week or so now I can focus on my back and leg strength.

Last time I was living Atkins I was exercising a lot and this time it has been much more difficult to stay consistant. I am wearing 16's & 18's down from 20's & 22's, but my mid section is a lot more flabby this time. I realize the waist is tighter this time around becasue my core is so out of shape. I think I am going to look for a book for people recovering from back surgery and how to get the core stronger quicker. What exercises I can do to help (other than the treadmill and elliptical). I wish I could afford a personal trainer.

New- I am glad your back. Would you care to join me for a week of induction starting Sunday? I need to tighten up and find out why I am stalling. I figured a week back to induction can help.

                      Awesome Judy. Congrats!

TJ- You need to post some pics of you in your new uniform so we can judge if you look fat... LOL

Kelly is right. The sun makes a huge difference for people. In Alaska manyy people hit the tanning beds just to help with moods or they buy the SAD lights. We get so dark in the winter that we have the highest depression/ suicide rate in the nation. I am really glad to see the sun again. Grass is still brown and the trees are still dead looking but the geese and ducks are back so I know the green is coming soon

                      Have a great day STAC'ers,

                        Morning everyone!

                        Dana, that sounds fabulous!

TJ...not nice to tease the single ladies with that whole "man in uniform" image

Judy, walking and breathing are over-rated. hahaha....just kidding. Congrats on your stick-to-it-iveness and great success!

On my official weigh in day, I'm at the same 276.8 that I was last week...I guess I should change my ticker I was hoping that pound would be gone, but at least it's friends that piled on throughout this week didn't stick around for official weigh in day. There was a noticable increase in bathroom trips yesterday afternoon...I seriously had to pee every 1/2 hour...aparently, I was carying some excess fluids. It's hard to get work done at the office when you have to run to the potty pretty much as soon as you get back from just going. LOL

I have YET another chest cold...my body is just run down from this infection I've been fighting. I'm going to see a specialist next week...this is getting rediculous. I look forward to someday soon...feeling HEALTHY!

                        Have a great friday everyone!

                        Realistic Final Goal: 190
                        Stretch Goal: 140

Successfully did Atkins in 1998 using 1992 copy of the book...before it was "hip". Lost 60lbs, exercised daily, felt and looked great. And then I moved in with a junk-food loving man, my mom got sick and passed away, then I suffered a spinal cord injury, and junk-food dude left me...and now I weigh 292lbs. That's 22lbs MORE than I weighed the first time around. It's 10 years later...I know this will work for me again.

Sorry about your Dad. My dad is 83 and I'm taking him to the Celtics and Bruins playoff games tomorrow because, as you surely know, you never know when the last one will be.
