    Re: Roll Call 4/21/09 Tuesday

    Happy Tuesday STAC'ers

Another beautiful sunny day here. It should get up in the high 50's (hubby said it was 65' yesterday at his work). The airport said it was only 53' but I had my airconditioning on in my car.... Winter is over

I did not sleep well last night (up every couple of hours going potty) so I am dragging a little bit today. I had a super induction day yesterday and I am planning another one for today. Drinking my water, eating plenty of induction food. I will weigh in officially on Friday.

I have a lot of work to do and I need to run to the market for eggs and cheese (I forgot yesterday).

    Have a great day STAC'ers

    Julie

      Re: Roll Call 4/21/09 Tuesday

      Morning everyone!

Well my scale greeted me with a new low weight this morning. WOHOO! It's only 1 pound down from my old low, and who knows if it will stick for my official weigh in, but I was sure happy to see it! I needed that boost!

I attempted a workout at my new gym last night. I walked on a tredmill for 5 minutes...this won't burn any calories because of how slow I have to go, but the machine is right in front of a mirror, so I can really work on my gate...which sucked pretty bad last night. My right leg does NOT want to work right at all. It's nice to have the opportunity to work on it again. I then tried a recumbent bike, since that's what my PT wants me to use now...UGH...what a PIA! Their bikes, first of all, don't have stirrups on them...which I need to keep my foot on the pedal. And then...because of my particular muscle deficiencies, I'm constantly having to adjust my feet so that my ankels stop hitting the inside of the pedal on the rotation. SO OBNOXIOUS. I miss my eliptical I think I got MAYBE 3 minutes on the bike. I really, really hate it. I'll keep working on it though. Sometime this week I plan on seeing what I can make happen in the pool. I think the big win for me here was that I got off my booty and drove to the dang gym...that's a good thing!

Food plan for today...very similar to yesterday. Celery and cream cheese for breakfast, leftover broccoli slaw thing for lunch, bacon for snack....dinner might be taco salad. I'm still eating the occasional pinch of almonds throughout the day. I've learned to take my love affair with them down to a "friends with benefits" level. LOL

Not sure if I'll make it back to the gym today due to my after work schedule...we'll see.

Keep up the great work everyone! Especially those quitters out there...I'm not a smoker myself, but I've watched my dad struggle with quitting over the years...even after tonsil cancer and a heart attack he still smokes today...it's just a hard habbit to break.

      Started: 3/2/09

      ~280~270~260~250~240~230~220~210~200~190

      Realistic Final Goal: 190
      Stretch Goal: 140

Successfully did Atkins in 1998 using 1992 copy of the book...before it was "hip". Lost 60lbs, exercised daily, felt and looked great. And then I moved in with a junk-food loving man, my mom got sick and passed away, then I suffered a spinal cord injury, and junk-food dude left me...and now I weigh 292lbs. That's 22lbs MORE than I weighed the first time around. It's 10 years later...I know this will work for me again.

        Bellajgw,

I'm like that with my scale too. When I don't use it (only 1x day) I find I get off track.

FINALLY the scale moved in teh right direction today. So refocusing has been a good thing for me. Here's hoping it keeps going that way for the rest of the week.

            Good Morning everyone,

Just checking in, I am on my second day of induction. Yesterday was fabulous, I feel so much better now that I am not eating junk!

            Yesterday

            Breakfast - 3 eggs and cheese -

Lunch - Chicken breast with feta cheese and lettuce -

Dinner - More chicken and a small amount of green beans.

            Water - 3/4 of a gallon

Workout - I know I am probably not supposed to, but I felt the urge to do some weight lifting. I send about 30 min doing high reps working out my arms and chest. I made sure I got my heart rate up.

            -
            Today -

Breakfast (I get weird cravings on Atkins) Hamburger salad with Feta cheese and blue cheese -

            I feel great so far!!

I totally missed Roll Call today, but I'm on plan...just very busy writing a presentation on brain-based teaching strategies that I have to deliver.
I'm stuck in a 276/277 funk right now, but I have to keep reminding myself that I came from 324 and it didn't happen overnight.

                      Re: Roll Call 4/21/09 Tuesday

                      Hi Everyone

Figured 2nd time around is where I belong. Would love to join 'the roll call'.

Well 10 years ago I was 113kgs and decided to start Atkins. I lost 18kgs in 3 months and one afternoon decided to have pasta for lunch at a friends birthday - it was all down hill from there (or was that uphill!).

So in that time I went from 95kgs to 140kg - nice one! Since last August I've been down to 122 (from 136kg I was on Atkins) and now up again to 130.8kg. I was doing ok, and in Feb had an emotional upheaval and stupididly threw the towel in and reached for the icecream.

My goal this year is to get to 95kgs again. I'm determined to live the Atkins way and hope to enjoy my journey along the way.

I'm not into being on 'another diet' with shakes pills and potions - I want real food full of flavour that satiates my appetite to shed these kilo's and find the old Sandra that I know is lurking in there somewhere.

95kgs is my this year goal, my actual goal is 86kgs which for me is a size 14/16 and I'd be most happy with that.

Bring on normality (well, in dress size anyway)
