Good morning all!
The quitting smoking thing is starting to pay off. We ran a 5k this morning and I was at 13 minutes at the mile and a half point. I have my physical fitness test in 3 weeks and have to run a mile and a half in 14:30, so I know I'm good to go. I am still close to the max weight though. I have to get under 196. My morning weights are between 195 and 198, so I'd like to lose 5 pounds between now and then to make sure I'm good to go. If you don't make the weight limit, they tape you for body fat. I have to be at 22% or less, and I am at 18% by my numbers. I'd like to make the weight limit though, kind of a personal goal. I haven't made the weight limit in the last 17 years.

Rainy the past day or so, but nice weather on the way! Looking forward to a very nice weekend. Chugging along, scale said I was at 240 this morning, down 20 pounds since start! Feeling pretty good!~Paul~

Hello all!
Doing really well here today. I think my morning walks are finally paying off!! Down to 197.2 this morning ( yes I need to count the .2!!) after several weeks of seeing nothing or a half pound .. this is exciting to see almost 2 lbs lost in a week!
watched the biggest loser last night - my goodness everyone looks fantastic! I was never a huge fan of the show and only started watching it a couple months ago.. but wow I'm impressed.
TJ - Your on track to meet your goal of losing 5lbs in 3 weeks.. keep at it and I'm sure you'll succeed!
Sandy - I know how you feel.. sometimes my work weeks are soooo
typical!!
Kelly - One week of chaos and it will all be back to normal.. Our kids had 2 snow days during thier testing.. prolonged the whole deal through 2 weeks.

I feel pretty good again this morning. The sun is doing magical things to my mood
I had a good day yesterday and I accomplished a lot. My back yard is almost dry (from the snow melt) and I am actually looking forward to getting it all cleaned up. If it doesn't start raining this weekend I plan on working on it Saturday.
I am still doing well with my induction week. I am going to the gym this afternoon when DH gets home from work.

Well aparently, I've been unintentionally mis-stating my weight the last few days. Yesterday I was at 274.8, not the 284.8 that I posted. I was all excited about that "new low" for me...until today. I'm scared to put this one in print cuz I don't want to jinx it!! 273.4! OHHHHH....I hope it keeps going down for friday!
We had beautiful weather yesterday...so warm my AC kicked on. And today...it's pouring rain. Gotta love the pacific northwest!!! I just got drenched walking from my car to my office...good thing I didn't spend any time on my hair!
Today would have been my mom and dad's 31st wedding anniversary. I miss you mommy! It's easy to rememeber their anniversary cuz it's on earth day....get a reminder every year that it's coming.
I'm headed down to the company cafeteria to try to grab some scrambled eggs for brekky (I'm actually craving them...which is rare anymore...I'm usually sick of eggs!), then it's chicken caesar salad for lunch and I don't know what for dinner but I'm guessing cheeseburger and some broccoli simply because I'm running out of options. Time to go to the store!

And then I moved in with a junk-food loving man, my mom got sick and passed away, then I suffered a spinal cord injury, and junk-food dude left me...and now I weigh 292lbs. That's 22lbs MORE than I weighed the first time around. It's 10 years later...I know this will work for me again.

since last weekend when i was low on my veggies and water i went up from 211.4 to 213.8 and have been stuck there for like 4 days. i didn't think that just being low on those things and having one piddly little sugar free pudding cup on my birthday could get me stuck like I am, so i went back and double checked all the stuff i've been eating and ta-da, found the problem. i thought spinnach was on the 2-3 cup list, and derrr, its not! i've been eating that instead of lettuce for the past 3 days, no wonder i haven't been going down. bah!! i've already eaten 1 cup of it with breakfast, so on to lettuce the rest of the day! hopefully catching that will get things moving along again.

Good afternoon all!
Doing pretty good these days but finding that as I eat "healthy" induction-legal foods over the "unhealthy" legal foods I am not getting many calories. I can't have too much cheese because I'm lactose intollerant. So, in order to bring up my daily 788 calories to a more reasonable amount I'm eating every piece of meat I can get my hands on.
Any suggestions? I typically max out my carbs without using net carbs pretty easily. I do a lot of chicken, some eggs, some fish, and veggies. I could definitely use some help as most days I seem to be hitting around 1000 calories, even when snacking on grilled beef sticks, boiled eggs, etc. I'm not hungry though, which is a nice change.
Not that I really have much to complain about, I've already lost 6 pounds and the pee-stick-thingy is nice and purple..I just don't want my body jumping into starvation mode.Bellajgw aka Jacqui

Happy Earth Day!!
I'm doing pretty well... day 3 after my 3 day splurge and going strong. I had left over steak for breakfast this morning. My puppy was so jealous!!
Regular STACers know that I'm an every-day weigher... well not this week!! I'm so afraid to see what my 3 day fall did to my one-derland status that I've been avoiding the scale like the plague!! I've told myself that I'll check next Monday, one week after my re-start. Hopefully I'll be at 197 (where I was last Thursday before my weekend-binge) or lower. Fingers crossed!!
Yankee-Paul = Keep up the great work!! 20 pounds down is terrific!
TJ = I'm so glad to hear that your efforts to quit smoking are working!! I'm also sure that you'll lose those pesky 5 pounds in time for your fitness test. You rock!! (still thinking about you in a uniform... but maybe your wife and my husband wouldn't appreciate that to much!!

I watched Biggest Loser last night too. Everyone is looking fantastic, aren't they? I looking foward to taking photos and comparing them to my starting pics... but not yet!
Becki = Fab new weight numbers!! Me - I like my eggs. Does your cafeteria have sausage? Try slicing some into your eggs and adding a smidge of cheese. Yummy!! As for your plans for lunch... my fave!! I LOVE Chicken Caesar Salad!!!
Bella = To increase your calories a little keep your good-fat intake up. Mix some mayo with those boiled eggs... use a nice olive oil based dressing on your salads (other options = ranch, caesar, blue cheese, etc.)... make a legal sauce for your chicken (good one = alfredo sauce, poured over brocolli, too... yum!). Good luck!!

Hey Everyone, I am just checking in. 3rd day of Induction and I am feeling pretty good. MY body feels so much better now that I am not eating crap. I am kinda bummed about some debt and taxes.....but that is another story. Good luck to everyone!!!

Vicki...sausage and eggs was an all time favorite...till I over-did it the first time around on Atkins. Now the thought can be nauseating some days. Same as broccoli cheese frittata....ate too much of that during induction in March, not sure I'll be able to ever eat it again. I've learned my lesson. I freeze more things now instead of trying to stretch them through a few days.
I was getting a little sick of Caesar salad and stayed away for a couple weeks. My salad today was divine.
It's weird...cuz I used to be this person that could eat the same thing day after day...but not anymore. Must be part of the aging process or something.
It's also weird that when I started back in march, I saw people talking about celery and cream cheese and tried it and thought "wow...that is so not worth eating ever again"...now I eat it almost daily. Tastes change dramatically on this plan. The fact that I consider purchasing mushrooms now and again...well that thought would blow my mothers mind if she were around. Heck...it blows MY mind. Still haven't done it...but I've seen lots of recipes where I actually thought I'd try...except the portobello pizzas...I don't see that one happening any time soon.
