    Good morning!!! I am going to have the creepy crawlies all day long thinking about having ticks picked off my back.

    It just may actually be a good appetitie supressant.

    Good Morning.. I still have two sick kiddos.. This is driving me nuts that they don't know what is wrong with my kids.. I hate working when I know they are home

      Kelly, if I had to compare ticks to snakes... I've been surprised and discovered snakes on accident waaaaaaay too many times!!

      Sandy, I know what you mean about leaving the kids at home! So little time, so much potential for destruction!!

      Quick check in. I'm going to make my food for the day and get outta here! No signal from the cable company. They want money, I suppose. Whatever happened to free tv? I have to pay today though, they haven't screwed with my internet YET.

            Ever...what is with those companies wanting to be paid? Sheesh!

            Sandy, sorry about the sick kidos! Hope everyone feels better soon.

            I ate my "lasagna" with my friend last night...pealing out the noodles as planned. He did think I was strange...in a "girlie" way...gave one of those "I'll never understand girls" comments. LOL...this from a 6'2" slender guy that I'm sure has never a day in his life had to worry about his weight. He never ONCE commented on my weight loss...so when I jokingly fished for a compliment, I got "you always looked good to me"...hmph...but I look better now, right? Dammit! A girl needs some freakin feedback! LMAO...we had a pleasant evening of conversation. Some of my old "feelings" for him reared their ugly heads for a few minutes...but I quickly reminded myself about his status as "relationship runner" and they went away. Whenever I spend an evening like that with him though, I remember how easy he is to fall for.

            So last night wasn't grand carb-wise....I had a couple of fat-furnace stopping alcholic beverages while we chatted, but my scale is back down to 272.8 this morning...so I'm ok with what I did. I didn't partake in the noodles of the lasagna and ate very little of what I did eat...couldn't tell ya the carb counts, but I feel I ended the day within my limits. I chowed on some celery and cream cheese just before he came over so that I wouldn't be starving the rest of the night.

            Today I'm eating eggs and sausage for breakfast, I hope I'm going out for lunch (someone at work is having a birthday) because I didn't pack a lunch, and dinner will be taco salad at home. I have bacon and celery to snack on through the day. Looks like I need to get some extra veggies in somewhere.

            Successfully did Atkins in 1998 using 1992 copy of the book...before it was "hip". Lost 60lbs, exercised daily, felt and looked great. And then I moved in with a junk-food loving man, my mom got sick and passed away, then I suffered a spinal cord injury, and junk-food dude left me...and now I weigh 292lbs. That's 22lbs MORE than I weighed the first time around. It's 10 years later...I know this will work for me again.

              I was just researching my dining options in Vegas for my trip next week and had to laugh. I found one restaurant I will Definitely be going to...and one I will be avoiding. There is a "Burger Bar" and a "Noodle Shop" at/near my hotel....any guesses? LOL

                Hi everyone. Got a good workout in and made a great cauliflower casserole, which is now cooling. I start my new job on Monday, and was thankful to be able to take the whole month of April off to work out, spend time with my family, and focus on embedding this new WOE before I start my new (and more stressful) job. I don't think I could have fully committed to Atkins and "rewire" my brain if I tried to do it simultaneously with my new job.

                  Dana hasn't checked in yet but she left me a note in yesterday's role-call telling me we were both at 196... Dana = Race you to 190 ;-)

                  Kelly & Ev = All this talk of tics and snakes... at least we're not throwing spiders into the mix because I hate spiders!
                  Hope the cable thing gets worked out Ev.

                  Kib = Great news! Hopefully the transition to one-derland will be as easy!!

                  Becki = Sometimes we find ourselves in situations where we have to moderate what we're eating to fit (as closely as possible) plan... sounds like you did a good job! I've found that the trick is to not get down on myself for not being perfect... that leads to cheats and down-right falls! Now that that lasagna is out of the freezer your friend will have to eat YOUR food next time he comes over! MMM!

                  Things are good with me... looking for ways to get out of the work I have to do (like writing a book here on roll-call!!). Weighed in this morning to see a hint of 195 (195.8 I think it was)... looking forward to seeing that number flash by unseen like Kib's 210!! Ha! Dana... hope you're racing!!

                    Considering that the noodles from your lasagna were left on the side of the plate last evening my educated guess would be that you'll be ordering bunless burgers (hold the ketchup, side of mayo please!) at the "Burger Bar"! Hopefully they'll have nice salads to replace your fries!!

                      Taking a day off from exercising to rest my body – I’ve been in a perpetual state of minor soreness for weeks! LOL Foods are so/so - I am NOT getting my veggies in. I really need to get cracking on those.

                      Vickie! Lol GAME ON! A little competition might be good for us – Either way, we’ll both end up losers

                      Sandy – I’m sorry to hear your kids are sick ={ I hate leaving my 2 if they are sick as well!

                      Kibs gratz on the weightloss!

                      Kelly – I am bad enough when my dog gets one tick on her .. let alone several! *shudder*

                      Raj – Maybe your friend feels that if he recognizes your loss – that it’s a confirmation he sees you as overweight? And he doesn’t want you to think he sees as the number that’s on the scale instead of him seeing you for .. well .. you? Does that make sense?

                      Ev – I hope your ankle is feeling a bit better. I have been alternating with strength training and walking – in 8 weeks I don’t see much of a difference with my muscles.. lol I think I need to either up the reps or up the weight.

                      Slap- Keep up the good work. And good luck for your first day at your new job J First days can be real stressful! I hate being the new kid! Lol even tho I am hardly a kid.

                        Hey Dana - thanks! I'm looking forward to it. I'm moving from a 500+ person organization to a 30 person firm. Can't wait. I know half the people there (who smartened up before I did and left my behemoth firm years ago!). It will be like a quasi-reunion. They even have a gym 10 feet (yes, 10 feet) from my office.

                          OK. Just so everyone will have peace of mind, Ladybug got fixed today and both the dogs are now on their flea/tick meds. Hopefully, they kick in instantly!! :=)

                          On a much less interesting note, I had scrambled eggs with scallions and black olives and sour cream for supper while hubby had Papa John's The Works. Man, those scrambled eggs were goooooooood. I'm really lucky that I love eggs.

                            Checking in this evening & glad to say it has been a good day~~~any day I don't have to work is a good day!! Spent time with my son this AM & took him out to lunch. This afternoon I took 2 of the grandkidlets (5 & 4 yrs old) to get sneakers & sandles. Food on target as is H20 intake.

                              Hi all! Just a quick check in, I worked 12 hours today and now have to run out and buy baby showers gifts for two seperate people. Dont ask me why I didnt do this yesterday when I had the day off.
