    Good morning STACers' I'm Jess. Been away for a while. Just wanted to make my way back to one of the most effective tools I've ever used, ADBB.
    I made this board and this forum my home for over 2 yrs, straight.
    I was going to LIFESTYLE change more than diet. I did need to loose a ton of weight but I needed to change my life so I could sustain any weight loss I had.
    The first 24 months were pretty easy and focused. Then I stared taking my new body into endurance sport. With that, there has been a reintroduction to carbs for fuel. It's opened a big pandora's box. That is the truth, but not my focus here.
    My focus here is, using the tools that help. ADBB helped me get a grip, have a community and support and meet like-minded people. Doing it together changed my whole way of doing things.
    This morning I will hop on my bike and ride 25 miles in a training ride for up coming triathlons. I will do that with another rider. I could go it alone, but I would struggle alot more, and I would go even slower.

    The value of community is priceless in my life. I've been away from here for a while due to work and other things, but I am refocusing some of my time to come back and support and be apart of a great community.

    Nice to see you back Jess.

    My plans include some shopping with kidlets & then house chores. Also going to find some new recipes to try out & get ready for the veggie challenge.

      I think you came back in at exactly the right time, Jess. Just yesterday, we were talking about exercise and working out.

      It's the one thing I just CAN'T get addicted to!! LOL! And here you are looking forward to hopping on your bike to ride 25 miles.

      Inspiration. Surely I can do my measly little hour on the treadmill watching Two and a Half Men.

      I hope everyone has a great Sat. Little rainy here in Northeast GA. I'm going up to the lake today looking at four lots.

        Welcome back to , Jess!! I've seen just a few posts by you in the past and wondered where you went! It is a great source of support, isn't it? I can post in the roll call every morning and find a dozen or more people here who "get it".

        I've been fighting the same 3-4 pounds for weeks now. I've tried to reintroduce "the pill" and I don't think my body appreciates it! So, today's weigh in gave me a peek at 189! I remember 189....SEVEN years ago!! I'm convinced I'll see the 170's by the end of the month! I've figured out the importance of forcing enough veggies if need be. I've always been very careful with my portions and been fearful they'd hold me back. Wrong! I'm going to seek out my CCLL this month and use the results to my advantage!

        Weather is horrid here. It's been raining pretty much nonstop for days now? I don't even remember anymore. Thunder, lightning, weather warnings, flooding. Looks like the Wii Fit, the rowing machine and the weight bench are my companions today!!

        I hope you're all doing well and staying on plan this weekend! Don't let the weekend get you!!

        Still not a word from TJ. Should we make a wanted poster of him using his pics?? I officially missed him days ago!

          Hi all,

          ITS THE WEEKEND, which for me is something i haven't really been enjoying of late as it was usually used as a recovery from the week as i was working LONG hours and becoming exhausted.

          This weekend is kind of a twofer for me, i am going to do some cooking for freezing as one of my biggest vices is i get lazy when i get home and order out instead of eating in and this way i will have grab and goes, so i will start making and freezing this weekend TV like dinners/Lunches/snacks.

          I am also going to bloody well clean my house which i haven't done really in a LONG time and licks and promises can only last so long lol.

          Happy weekend everyone --- Its prep weekend for me.

            Hello STACers! I'm new to your forum and making my second attempt at Atkins way. I was successful the first time (2003-2007) but just got away and started eating any old thing. I think I got so busy that I stopped making interesting food for myself. I truly got bored with what I was eating, so I started eating things I shouldn't have. The lbs added up and I am now committed to losing them. I am so inspired by your posts.

              Hey Angel!

              welcome to the second time around. We're all in the same boat around here. I gave up 40-45 pounds in 2004 and kept it off until 08 when I quit smoking. Now I'm just battling ten pounds. (Maybe 15 but who's counting).

              I've aged and my metabolism went to sleep and some days I get discouraged and eat crap I shouldn't. All of these factors add together to make this a more difficult journey than it was first time around.

              Although, let me say that I was thinking of something earlier today and listen closely folks, because this is PROFOUND!! LOL!!

              I could very easily weigh twice what I do right now. So, while I may not be exactly what I want to weigh right now, Atkins has helped keep me from going in the complete opposite direction. A little optimism from ole Kelly girl on a rainy Saturday afternoon....

                Hey Kelly! Still no TJ........ What are we going to do about this? He's in Georgia too with a very basic description of where he lives in a previous roll call. Maybe we should send you some gas money and you could take a road trip!! I wish we could email him or something. He's missed and I know he's at least exercising trying to kick himself in his a$$.

                  Happy Saturday STAC'ers

                  Another glorious day in Anchorage. The sun is up and spring is in the air. I love this time of year.

                  Jess it is great to see you back. We missed your daily wisdom and inspiration

                  Angie I think your plan to cook/freeze (prepare) is going to be instrumental in your success. I totally get it about the house work too. I usually spend my Saturdays deep cleaning and then playing on Sunday. Back to the grind stone on Monday.

                  Ever- Good luck on the 170's this month. That is a big goal (I will be happy with 4 pounds for the month at this point). Finding your ccl is a great start. I am eating about 50 grams of carbs (mostly vegis) right now. My body is actually craving vegis all the time and if I miss a day or two I feel bloated. The vegis keep me regular. I also switched BC forms about 3 months ago (low dose) I went from Yaz to the Novaring. Neither one is suppose to cause weight gain but my body took about 2 months to adjust.

                  Today is my daughters first prom (I will post pictures). I think I am taking her for a pedicure. I have some house work to do and I want to start my outside work as well. I put my hubby on a plane to Kodiak at 6 am this morning so it is just us girls till Monday night. I will be alone tonight. Imagine the house to myself (heaven ).....

                      Hello all.

                      I'm here. Two days strong again... new plan for my goal. Hopefully I'll be my goal weight by my 25th birthday (September 25th) which I've mapped out and it puts me at 1.88 lbs. loss per week. So, I think with determination and exercise I'll be there in no time!

                      Jess - it's nice to see you back again

                      Newbies - WELCOME! Post daily! Great to have you here!

                      Julie - I need to clean. Reading that just inspired me to close the laptop and bust out some lysol!

                        Great to see you Laura!! Your post inspired me! I need to close the laptop too. Took some painkillers for the granny kankle I've been dealing with and I have all this boundless energy from them but I'm not getting off my butt! I have a lot to do and not much time to get it done!                           I am here, but not feeling too well. I think I have a cold coming on. My 10 year old daughter has been sick most of the week with Strep throat, ear infections, and pink eye. My guess is I got it from her...I guess its an occupational hazzard.

                          I have done well this week and feel that I have good grip on eating. The only thing I can not do without is my caffine. I have to have that coffee in the morning and diet soda in the afternoon. I have reduced my caffine intake to allow the consumption of the ever important water.

                          It will be a low key weekend here with maybe renting a few movies and doing my passion which is quilting.

                              I went over to his page on FB and he's not been on it, either!! I'm going to Florida next Friday so I'll just swing by Brunswick and hit him up for that steak on the grill that he promised next time I go to Florida. I hope you're reading this, TJ. I like mine medrare.
