  • 2nd timer...gained my 50 back..

Well, here I am again...wondering where I would be in weight loss if I continued.

Started in April 08 through Nov.08 and lost 50lbs. Maybe I would have lost a 100 by now!!!AND have reached my goal.

Starting tommorrow, May 4th I have organized A Biggest Loser Club @ work with 20 coworkers signed up to join me for 12 wks. with a member fee of $20 and $400 to the biggest loser!!!

I am so excitedto see everyone who I work with to get in shape,be healthier and most of all.....everyone likes to be competitive. I believe it will also bring us closer together as a team in our facility.

Im pretty upset with myself working so hard last year on Atkins and NOW have to work off the same 50lbs. What was I thinking!!??

Oh well.......MAYBE this time...no.. THIS time I have to make it work!
I am now 50 yo and pre-menapausal and noticed more and more I crave sweets and can't get enough..so sweets are out including sweetners and crystal lights I used the last time..No diet sodas..NO sugar free teas...strictly water. Oh yeah...no more porkrinds. I am sick of those, but what else can you replace for bread or a cracker when you eat your tuna or meaty sandwich? I tried those whatjamacalits on the recipes before and they were ok.. I guess.

Lastly....exercise. If I lost 50 lbs in 7 mos. without it before, I can't imagine the success this time.

    So.....let's do it people

    Welcome back!
Starting off on a clean slate is important. Great motivation getting a Biggest Loser group together at work. That will be great support as well. I share Jillian Michaels Newsletter at my journal if you're interested in reading it.Motherearth AKA Sherri~~~ How The World Turns As I See It
I'm right there with you, i'm perimenapausal. So I do understand cravings. Plus, i'm a sugar addict. A supplement that I use and love to fight sweet cravings is L-Glutamine. An amino acid that will take those cravings away. Here, read this post to learn more about it #30 .
You're doing the right thing by taking out all the sweet taste in your woe. One thing I have found is when you starve out sweet taste you stop the cravings.
I have a No Sweetner Challenge here that you may be interested in. You can find it here-2009 How Long Can You Go? "No Sweet" CHALLENGE. Lots and lots of great information there. Maybe a Challenge you'ld be interested in reviving.
There's alot of great recipes for replacements for bread and crackers. Start a thread to ask people. I'm sure lots will chime in. There's oopsie rolls for replacement for bread. I like to make cheese crackers for dips. Just a couple of ideas off the top of my head.
I'm a water person too. That's just about all I drink. LOL.
Yes, Let's do it! Post often, join some challenges. A great way to meet new people and make new friends.
    Wishing you much success.

Edited to invite you to check in at the Century Club Roll Call each day if you're interested.

      Re: 2nd timer...gained my 50 back..

Cotafaye, I read your post and thought that I had wrote it. I also started Atkins last April 2008 and lost 50lbs and have gained every bit back! I have been kicking myself these last couple of weeks because NONE of the new clothes that I bought last summer fit. For the last couple of weeks I've said I was going to start this WOE again and haven't. I'm going to start again tomorrow and stick with it. It's good to know that I'm not the only one out here in the same situation. Best of luck to you!!
