  • 2nd time around not losing

Well the title says it all. Several years ago I lost about 30lbs on Atkins and long and short am essentially starting over.

I was deeply depressed to step on the scale sunday after 2 weeks of induction only to see that I had lost no weight on 1250 calories per day.
The only AS I had were Davinci in my coffee, a bit of Walden farm PB and about 6-7 pieces of Orbit during the day.
I have been hungry alot during the 2 weeks, but was so motivated until I saw the numbers on the scale.

    a typcial day has been:

3/4 cup Dixie Diner soy ceral (3 carbs) 100 cal
    2 eggs 150cal (2carb)
Flax bread (1 tblsp flax, 1 egg scant Baking powder) 150 cal (1 carb)
1cup spinach and 1 cup cauliflower/broccoli/gr. pepper 5 olives sliced and 3 oz chicken 2tblsp mayo mixed with Walden farms dressing 350 cal (7 carb)

    2 eggs 150 cal (2 carbs)
    1.5 oz cheese (1.5 carb) 150 cal

1 tblsp coconut oil mixed with Walden farm PB

    I drink tons (200oz+water)

Even in counting the gum carbs it is still really not a ton of carbs.

    Any thoughts??
BTW the pic and stats are outdated... I am at about 156 lbs

    Hi Kristenv:
I can understand the frustration of dieting for two weeks and not seeing the results on the scale.
I noticed that you wrote that you were on 2 weeks of induction. In
The Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution (2002) pg123,#5 (While on Induction) "Eat nothing not on the acceptable food list! And that means absolutely nothing!"
The full Induction list is on pgs 122-130.

With the above in mind, I checked your menu.
    Get rid of the:
    -coffee
    -PB (peanut butter?)
    -Orbits
    -soy cereal
    -flax bread
Watch the spinach, broccoli and cauliflower. You can have 1 cup total of those vegetables daily.

I bet if you stick to Dr Atkins food list exactly, you will lose that weight again.

Eat more if your hungry. 1250 cal is not very much.

I didn't see much protein either. Eat liberally all meat (seafood, pork, beef, poultry).

Follow the book. The diet you just did is not induction. Check out the induction thread it might help.

        Yes,

You need to eat more. I'd add meat to each of those meals.

eat anytime you are hungry. As someone said above...if you take those things out of your menu you will drop the weight. You are not doing atkins if you are eating those things at this point
