  • Roll Call 5/6/09 Wednesday!!

    Well, good morning everyone!! I'm so so so so so excited!! I've been dropping weight recently by eating lots more veggies. Apparently, I just "thought" I was eating veggies before!! I freak out every time I get on the scale now. How long can this fairytale last?? It is a sweet surprise with all the trouble my ankle has given me. I've had to tone down the exercise and was really freaked out that would have an adverse affect. I just started lifting weights again and less cardio. Something is really right. I can see the 170's from here and that feels good! Oh my goodness, that was 20 years ago....

    Have a great hump day, everyone!! The weekend is almost upon us and I can't wait!!

    Sounds like a great moment in the long journey. Weightlifting builds lean muscle and lean muscle burns more calories while you are at rest than fat ever will. It's really important to build lean muscle. A mixture of strong cardio to strengthen your heart is important for your over all health, but there is nothing like lean muscle!

        Morning All!

        I too have been mixing weights & cardio .. waiting for the day the chub melts off to reveal the strong lean muscles it's been hiding underneath

        I also realized that I wasnt taking any rest days from exercising- even though I was working out different muscle groups I was not giving my body a chance to just chill and repair itself. I hvae read that's important for muscle growth *shrug* I cant say if it's true or not but it seems to be helping me make it through my workouts without the fatigue.

        Off for my walk - will check in this afternoon once all the sleepy heads decide to wake up

            Gooooooood morning!

            I beat my alarm clock today. *For sure sign I'm back into the swing of things*

            It was set for 5:40am, and I woke up, refreshed at 4:57am
            I contemplated dozing back off but I was pretty much wide awake... so I got up, cleaned my room, and did some laundry!

            Yay me!

            Now, I'm off to go wake my lil' boy and start my work day!

                Happy Wednesday everyone! Got my workout in, getting sworn in to the US Supreme Court, and have my first client meeting in my new job today. Then I have to cut the grass when I get home.

                  Morning all! I woke up this morning very excited! We have a new baby in the family and Im officially an Aunt! My sister in law gave birth to a healthy 7 lb 9 oz baby boy yesterday and it just so happens to be my day off today so Im headed to the hospital to visit the little guy. YAY!!

                  EL - Im so excited for you! And I know just how you feel. I hit the 160's about 4 years ago on Atkins and I remember how great it felt, so as Im sneaking closer to the 170's Im getting very excited. Although at the rate Im going, your probably gonna beat me there!

                  Sandy - Sorry about your washing machine! I know how bad that sucks.

                    Happy Hump Day STAC'ers

                    I am super tired today. I think the extra exersize and lack of good sleep has caught up with me finally.

                    I am seeing my dr today for my yearly check up. I know how much I have lost but she hasn't seen me for 3 months so I am kind of excited about it. I am right around 20# I think.

                    Ev- that is great news for you. I swear I crave vegis all the time now.

                    I don't think they are helping speed up my weight loss though. I am not getting enough fat and I really need to work on it. That being said I am happy to loose slow. I am hoping to make it more permanent (like forever)

                    Congrats with the new nephew MrsDavis.

                    Slap congrats to the new job Supreme Court, very cool!

                    Sandy my dryer was not working for few weeks (thanks Hubby).... I spent a fortune going to the laundry mat. I was becoming a regular Until hubby finally fixed it. I feel for ya.

                    Dana my hubby has been "building" for about 3 years now. He really needs a day or 2 to get recovered. He trains hard. He recently started running on top of having a very physically demanding job. Enjoy your walk.

                        Hey every one, sounds like every one is doing great. YAY

                        Im doing good, day 3 of no cheating and no diet coke YAY I such an addict for it Id drink it for days with no water but have kicked it and feel so much better. Im sure Im down on the scales but I dont want to look until its been a week to get a lovely shock. lol

                        I dont get a chance to get on here every day to check in but will try, Im keeping track of what i eat and need to step it up and eat more veggies as Im not hungry and find I go with out meals which I know is not good. I just get so busy I look at the clock and its 4 pm and Ive not eaten since early morning.

                        Well hope every one is having a great day =)

                              Another busy day for me with meetings here at work and then and a trip to the library for a research project I'm doing for my design class. Busy... but should be productive! Still having a hate-on for my day-job, though... feeling unsupported and unchallenged. I soooo need a new job!!

                              Speaking of which - Slap, you're doing well!! US Supreme Court and a new firm. Very good stuff!
