  • Roll Call May 12th, Tuesday!!

    Good morning, STACer's!! I've got a big week with family coming....yay. I've been a little exhausted lately but I'm counting on that meaning my body is working overtime burning fat, right? I've started to really lift the weights again, not more weight but more reps. My muscles are bigger and stronger. That feels good!! I'm enjoying the changes in my body while I'm not seeing the pounds actually fall off!

    For the newbies, I've really noticed I lost fat all over for the the first 40 pounds or so. Now, sweetly, sticking with it....it's coming off my problem areas I've looked at with dread for so long!! I'm excited now and a month further down the road, I know it'll be even better!!

    Good Morning.. I am still alive...although I haven't been on much.. I am just too darn busy with working.. I did ask my boss to cut me to 3 sometimes 4 days a week no more then 30 hours.. I need a life too.. So after this week I should be getting myself back on track...

        Morning all

        I'm off to a slow start - TOM arrived this morning bringing a 1.5lb gain along for the ride LOL. Also had corned beef last night - it's SOoooo salty but Soooo yummy!! Totally worth seeing the extra weigh on the scale today

        Rushing around this morning and no time for exercise - I am registering both my boys for High School & Jr. High - makes me feeel real old! They were just babies yesterday.

        Sandy glad to see you poking your head in the door - You were doing so well for so long - focus on getting yourself back on track

        Kelly I think the teachers want it more! lol

        Ev - you are doing so wonderfully! It's such an awesome feeling to finally realize that all the hard work is paying off - not just with the number on the scale or the size of clothing .. but mentally and emotionally as well!

        Anyone here is Raj was back from Vegas yet? I thought she was due back yesterday.

        Vickie - when you check in .. I am now hovering at 194.4 - we'll see what the next couple days bring - you may have this in the bag!

            Happy Hump Day STAC'ers

            I woke up at 5:30 feeling well rested. After using the bathroom I striped and got on the scale. Wow. I was down 5#. I haven't weighed lately and I had PMS last week so I had a woosh Today will be a good day.

            I am off to hike this morning and then I go again in the afternoon. I have been enjoying more activity lately, the back has been feeling stronger and my knee has stopped hurting.

            Dana- I applaud you for not stressing about the small gain you saw today. I know what you mean about feeling old. My daughter will be 16 very soon. She has a week of school left and she needs to get her first job this summer.

            Sandy work less and play more. That is my motto. I hope you can get your hours down a little. I work hard so I can shave hours off my week. Some times it works out sometimes it does not. I hope it works out for you.

            Ev- I hope you enjoy yoru family. I usually stress out trying to make everything perfect. I like lifting weights. I can always see the changes rapidly in my arms. This time around I can see my wrists shrinking, my arms getting more defined, my legs are still looking icky as is my mid section.

                Hey sneaking on until lunch then I'll be back. I have one cheat free day under my belt. Day two is going well so far I had an omelet today with some nitrate free bacon. I'm getting hungry again and I didn't pack snacks, but lunch is a half hour away so I know I can make it until then. I'm going to drink some water now. Off to work!

                  Good Morning! My walking partner couldn't walk this morning so I'm heading out into the neighborhood today. It seems more "exercisey" to hit the walking trails around here. I think it's the feeling of comradeship with the other runners/walkers. Oh Dana, I know about the feeling old thing. My oldest goes to College this next year. We are busy with final tests and getting all the papers in. Corned beef sounds excellent, by the way. Have a great day all! Eva

                    Dana ~ Your 1.5 lbs will be gone in a flash! Besides, I'm still sitting at 193. Maybe I'm waiting for you so we can whoosh to 190 together?! As for feeling old... my son is 21 when only yesterday he was a baby!!

                    Julie ~ Fantastic about the big whoosh!! 5 lbs is awesome!! It's also great that you're getting out for your hikes... hiking is such a wonderful way to get your exercise!

                    Ev ~ You're posts have been inspirational lately... keep it up because you're motivating all of us to succeed!

                    Lisa ~ Congrats on your teaching job!! Don't pay attention to Kelly's desire for summer to arrive

                    Kelly ~ If you ask the students, it's the students who are anticipating summer more... but teachers are, in my opinion, totally deserving of the break!!

                    Bright ~ Keep counting those cheat-free days!! BTW, did you put a little cheese on your omlette? You'll find that if you have a little more "good" fat in your meals you'll feel full longer.

                    So... life is going well in so many ways (weight loss, love my hubby, house, the interior design business I'm building)... except for my day-job. I'm so ready to move on!! Bad news though... I have a sneaking suspicion that my boss is getting ready to let me go before I have a chance to find a new job... or get my business off the ground. I've been called in for a meeting on Thursday morning. Hmmm. Not looking forward to it!!

                    Anyway... time to get some work done. I'll check back later!

                      tan, yes I always put a little cheese on my omelets! I made it until 12. As soon as I looked up it was time to eat.

                      I had a nice salad with two thinly sliced grape tomatoes, a thin slice of scallion, a sprinkle of shredded cheese, and some olive oil and apple cidar vinegar. I also had some prime rib I made yesterday sliced then on top of it. It was very good!

                        Hi Everyone!

                        I haven't been on here in QUITE a while. This is my 3rd time around on Atkins (though the second doesn't really count as I never made it through a clean induction). After gaining back all the weight I lost first time around, plus some , I got frustrated and discouraged and decided to come back to what I know works. I'm starting first thing tomorrow morning. Wish me luck.

                          Hello everyone! Checking in a little late, I volunteered at my sons school today from 8-12 making popcorn for 360 of the kids there! I'm happy to report that I didn't have not one single kernel nor did I want to!!!! Ahhhh...Atkins is AWESOME!!!! Day 7 of Induction for me and I am feeling just perfect!!

                          Alaska! WTG on the 5#!!!

                          kmr..wishing you the best with this round of Atkins! I too find myself back to Atkins time after time because I KNOW it works for me! Let's make this time permanent success ay!

                            Hey everyone, I'm home! I'm not rich...but I didn't go broke either, so that's great! I left with 400 cash, came home with 200 cash, and only put about 60 or so on my credit card for meals, drinks and a t-shirt...not bad for 5 days in Vegas.

                            I don't wanna discuss the food though.

                            But...I'm doing my best to get back on track today...even though I have NOTHING prepared to get started, so it's already a challenge. I stopped and got a fast-food egg thing for breakfast, am planning lunch out for chicken Caesar salad and then probably a couple burger patty's with cheese at home for dinner. Maybe my bacon will be defrosted by then...we'll see. I gotta get to the grocery store! I got in at midnight last night, didn't get to bed till after 2am and had to be at work by 9 today...oy! I'm soooooo tired!

                            I'm not going to weigh for a while...I don't know how long, but I have a whole host of reasons. First...there are my "Vegas indiscretions"..which honestly, while carby...weren't THAT bad in all seriousness (not ONE buffet!). By day 4 I was still fitting into my new jeans I picked up a couple days before leaving, which shocked the **** outa me. However, due to heat and added carbs, the swelling in my legs is horrid right now...so reason 2 for not weighing for a while. Third reason is that I'm HYPED UP to start working out hard with a personal trainer this week...which means added weight from muscle building...don't wanna see that number. And reason 4 is that I'm switching water pills. I'm having a ridiculous time controlling my potassium on my current pill so my doc is switching me to one that is supposed to INCREASE potassium levels. The switch could mean trouble with more water gain while I get used to it. Yeah...the scale will not be my friend for a while! So my plan is to get on track...get into ketosis...and get on the scale again when I feel like I can handle it. I was 271 when I left town...next stop, 270!

                            I'm sooooo excited to get back on track. I'm even more excited that I didn't come back broke so I can afford to buy some personal training sessions...can't WAIT to get that started.

                            My trip was so much fun...the weather was outstanding, the concerts were fantastic, the Zumanity show was amazing, and I didn't lose my shirt! I had a wonderful time! I'm glad to be back here and hopefully will be able to catch up on everyone over the next couple of days. Hope everyone is doing well!

                            Successfully did Atkins in 1998 using 1992 copy of the book...before it was "hip". Lost 60lbs, exercised daily, felt and looked great. And then I moved in with a junk-food loving man, my mom got sick and passed away, then I suffered a spinal cord injury, and junk-food dude left me...and now I weigh 292lbs. That's 22lbs MORE than I weighed the first time around. It's 10 years later...I know this will work for me again.
