    Good morning all.

    I just flipped through yesterday's roll call and man, whoever posted that pic of the chix salad is cruel!!! I'm feeling like Pavlov's dog, here!! It's just so hard to diet, isn't it??? LOL

    I've got a routine doc appt this afternoon which means I have to get on the scale. I think I'll just close my eyes, stick my fingers in my ears and sing"lalalalalala" until she tells me to step off the scale.

    I'm shooting for a monthly weigh in around the beginning of June. Didn't even miss getting on the scale Monday. Thanks Jess.

    Actually, I'm just trying to work on being happy no matter what my "size" is while continuing to work on my size.

    Good morning STACers!

    It's raining here so I will have to do inside exercise today but that's a good thing because I need to catch up on my strength training and abs work.

    I did well yesterday on the diet and exercise and slept well last night too so I'm raring to go today.

      Hi everyone - odd start to the day here. Got my workout in, got to work, etc. and was reading a blog posted by a mother whose son has cancer. Very difficult read since my son is around the same age. Anyway, the little boy looks like mine, and there's a picture of him sucking his thumb which, at first glance, could have been my son (who's getting out of that phase, slowly but surely). Makes me want to run home and take the day off and take my boy to the park, zoo, etc.

      But, looking on the positive side of things, I'm much healthier now that I was two months ago and, for that, I'm a better Dad...I'll give him an extra squeeze tonight!

        Slapshot - I really enjoy reading your posts, for two reasons. Number one, because you are obviously a hockey fan. I used to play rec hockey on a co-ed team (2 years ago, when I was in shape!) and I have been a dedicated Caps fan since they were really crappy (let's not talk about last night's game). Number two, and the most important reason, it's obvious you are a dedicated husband and father. As a soon-to-be wife, it's so nice to see men committed to their family. Kudos to you!


        Hi Everyone!

        I'm here and OP. Don't believe my scale because it says I've lost 3.5 lbs this week (only been on Atkins 1 full day, but before that was exercising regularly and eating low fat), but I guess it's just water weight. I always drink lots of water and I've probably been retaining. Just started induction yesterday and stuck to eggs, bacon, hamburger patties with a slice of cheese, steak, spinach, and a sortof salad...plus water and a cup of decaf, black. It felt GREAT to be able to eat those things I love without feeling guilty!!!! And I worked out last night, as usual...30 min on the treadmill and an arm routine. Today is more of the same....staying OP and getting in some cardio and abs tonight.

          kmrsail - thanks for your post! Yes, I started skating when I was two, and have been playing my whole life, except for the last 2 years. I'm convinced that once I get back to my normal weight and get some physical therapy to strengthen my hip, I'll be able to skate again. Right now, I can't afford to play once a week, then need 2-3 days of recovery (in which I'd skip workouts). Thank goodness the Stairmaster and elliptical have no effect on my hip. If they did, I'd really be in trouble!

          Sorry about last night's game. Bummer. In all honesty, if my Bruins win tonight, I'd rather see them play the Caps because I think they would have matched up better than the Pens do. We'll see. Tonight's game should be a great Game 7. Can't wait.

          Congrats on the engagement, too! It's amazing what a 37lbs bundle of energy/fun/love can do to change someone's focus on life. Before my son came into the picture, I was work, work, work, sleep, play, work, work, work. Now, he comes first in everything, and he has been such a joy to me and my wife. He's a happy little boy!

            Walked for an hour last night, thought I was gonna pass out. Had to stop and bend over to rest like 5 times. Was in so much pain, could hardly sleep. It'll be easier tonight, though!
            What I do:
            Elliptical gym machine 1 hr Tue-Sun
            At 320, switch to cycling on my Trek 500
            2 filtered containers water/day
            Daily salads/veggies


            Goals:

            Stop needing High Blood Pressure meds - DONE!
            Workout in a XXXL shirt
            - DONE!
            Workout in a XXL shirt
            Workout in a XL shirt
            270 on the scales

              Good Morning! Being healthier is being a better parent. My middle daughter, a junior in high school observed last week that I was eating differently. "Mom you're eating healthy again!" It actually really pleased me - she was proud of me. Hug that little boy close tonight, you are doing a great job. Eva

                Im here going strong nearly two weeks of no diet coke YAY that is so hard for me to give up but now I find I grave water more and my skin looks so much better..

                Im doing good diet wise but not really eating enough veggies, need to do more of those. Im probably not eating enough but im just not hungry.

                I hope every one is doing well and losing lots of weight =)

                  Hi everyone, can i join?

                  On day 4 now and yesterday i had lost 4lbs and today i put on 3lb but i know its not acurate because i havent cheated. Its not made me want to cheat which it normally would. Have to do this this time around. Its not a diet its a lifestyle. Trying to drill this into my head

                  so far so good i think. got some family gatherings this weekend which im gonna try and adapt around without cheating.

                    Hey guys! Just wanted to pop in and say hello, before I go back to work. I haven't lost much weight at all this time around, but I did start BCP so that might be a reason why. I'm going to exercise on the base today after work. I have my clothes ready to go. I am shooting for an hour because the gym closes at 6:30.

                    So far so clean . I added up my carbs for the day and yikes they are at 18 net carbs. Good thing they're all from veggies! I think the eggs I had this morning upped my carb count too. And so did this tuna. But that is o.k. I'm still under 20 net and my ratio of fat to protein to carbs is still within range.

                      Morning all...

                      I'm still in a struggle. I ran out the door this morning without packing a breakfast OR lunch because I needed to get to an early meeting with my manager. I've now been up for 4 hours and still haven't eaten and have nothing on hand. I ended up late to the dang meeting anyway due to a traffic jam...missed my part of the presentation, in a room with two managers that already hate me, in a job that is already in jeopardy, in an environment that is depressing as heck to come to every day...so yeah...can I have cake now?

                      I did NOT dive head first into a bowl of pasta last night...but I did find something with sugar that I ate mindlessly...I probably had 20 grams of carb in that stupid thing...but that was the extent of the damage. But going into today weak willed and hungry with NO food on hand is just stupid of me....give me some strength to make it through this! Right now I really just wanna run to the closest mexican restaurant for a margarita and a bowl of tortilla chips. Maybe 3 margarita's...lol.

                      Successfully did Atkins in 1998 using 1992 copy of the book...before it was "hip". Lost 60lbs, exercised daily, felt and looked great. And then I moved in with a junk-food loving man, my mom got sick and passed away, then I suffered a spinal cord injury, and junk-food dude left me...and now I weigh 292lbs. That's 22lbs MORE than I weighed the first time around. It's 10 years later...I know this will work for me again.

                        HANG IN THERE! We all know stress coupled with not having a plan can be a recipe for disaster. I was also running late this morning and didn't pack breakfast or lunch, but I managed to find some tasty solutions. The coffee shop next to my building sells hard boiled eggs, so that was breakfast. Then I ordered a bunless burger and side salad for lunch. Try to take a deep breath, drink a glass of water, and thing about the places around you...you're guaranteed to find something OP and you will feel better about the day if you stick to it.

                          Hello Everyone,

                          So many posts I want to respond to, but I just don't have time today. Like you, Becki, (but for different reasons) I've been stressed by work. I have a lot of work to do without a whole lot of motivation to do it (total job dissatisfaction = no motivation). So... rather then spend hours surfing the internet I'm going to try and get a little someting done today!!

                          Plan is going well... weighed in at 192 this morning (down another pound) so I'm happy. And I'm hungry for my lunch!! I think I'll have a chicken ceasar salad today. MMMM!

                            Hey Vickie...I totally have the "total job dissatisfaction = no motivation" equation going as well...but then I feel guilty because most of my friends have already been laid off...at least I HAVE a job for now, so I shouldn't complain.

                            I just ran to the grocery store and picked up a caesar salad with chicken, a 1oz stick of cheese and 2 hard boilded eggs...my lack of planning cost me cuz this stuff was expensive...but at least I didn't buy chinese food and a dozen donuts. I'm all set at home for dinner tonight...tons of options. I actually feel better since going to the store...not feeling the overwhelming urge to eat a ton of carbage. I think going to the grocery and having the faceoff with everything and winning is helping here. I could have chosen poorly...but I didn't...somehow that is making me feel better.

                            Now if I could JUST get motivated to do my job. :\

                              ^^^^WTG for skipping the margarita and tortilla chips!!

                              Checking in kinda late, had to take my son to the doc this morning to get his cast off ( he broke his arm in March) and had some errands to run but I'm on plan still 100%.

                              This is day 9 for me and my mom commented today that my stomach was "going on down"....I LOVE ATKINS!!!!
