  • Roll Call 5/15/09 IT'S FRIDAY!!!

    TGIF!!! I'm so happy it's finally Friday. Nothing like saying goodbyeee to an unproductive week at work!! Hope you're all doing well and are on plan.

    My biggest challenge today? Well, we are nearly out of toilet paper here!! Gotta pick some up! Hoping to hear great reports in roll call today. I haven't weighed in yet but will soon. Have a great one!!

      TGIF! Will face a challenge tonight at a college graduation party as everyone is bringing a dish to share. I think I'm going to eat before I go & maybe arrive late.

        Oz!! Think of it as a Biggest Loser challenge! At least you're not going to have to run a marathon, right? Makes walking on by the food seem waaaaaaay easier!! I look at the apparent deliciousness and remember how I'll feel after I eat it. Bloated, tummy cramps, messes up my GI tract, weeks of no progress even if I'm straight on plan afterward, yadda yadda. Then, I see it as really good looking poison. Hand me the veggie tray!! Oh, and then there's coming to roll call tomorrow and bragging about your resistance!!

          Good morning y'all. I'm definitely on board with the TGIF!!!!!

          I had a doctors appt yesterday afternoon and when I went in the back, the nurse was looking at my file. She said, "I guess we aren't going to weigh you today???" It took me a minute to remember that the last time I was in there I begged the nurse not to weigh me. NOT IN THE AFTERNOON.

          If it was first thing in the morning, ok, but not in the afternoon!!!! So, it's in my file that i refused to be weighed.

          The bad part is that the nurse was about twice my size and she probably thinks I have an eating disorder!!!

            Day 3...no signs of flu yet...yippie!

            Definitely ready for the weekend...I have a bunch of errands to run tonight (packed some Induction friendly snacks to hold me over through all that). Tomorrow is my FH's college graduation (So proud of him! Although he isn't really done...he's continuing on with his Master's). Then I'm throwing him a surprise party! I'm so excited; I've never thrown anyone a surprise party before Sunday he and I are washing our cars, doing some yard work, and going to see an air show.

            I may not get to check in each day, but I'll definitely be back on Monday.
            Hope the whooshie fairy gets everyone this weekend.

              Day 4 - I'm down 7 lbs!

              Gonna join the gym today (no more free passes ), since it's raining Saturday, and that will hose up my walking. My metabolism went nuts, I was up until 2am dancing around, didn't get any sleep. But I'll happily take one sleepness night for all this energy, yep!

              IT'LL BE A GREAT FRIDAY!

              Elliptical gym machine 1 hr Tue-Sun
              At 320, switch to cycling on my Trek 500
              2 filtered containers water/day
              Daily salads/veggies

                Have a great day! No TP! That could be disastrous around here. Everlasting, I like the comment about "really good looking poison." I think it will help me get through this weekend. We have a golf tournament all weekend with the accompanying parties and its usually full of wonderful looking "poison" food. I will focus on that! Eva

                  Happy Friday STAC'ers

                  Another weekend is here. Yippy! My husband has been home half the week. He is having dental surgery today. For a surprise while I was out working with a sales person yesterday he managed to clean the house (mostly). I have a few things to do but he did the hard stuff. I guess the pain meds made him feel like working

                  It is raining very hard outside. I guess after almost 4 weeks of solid sunshine I can not complain. It is suppose to clear off before 6 pm. Perfect.

                  Today's plan is to babysit hubby and go to the market while working from my laptop in between. I need to make up some plan food like quiche, soup, and cheesecake muffins.

                      Happy friday everyone!

                      I survived my lack-of-preparedness yesterday and hit ketosis late yesterday afternoon! WOHHOOO!! My ankles are back to normal size and the scale is showing 273.8...which I can totally accept for my actions.

                      My plans for this weekend include an hour with a personal trainer tomorrow (wohoo!!!), a get together with friends tomorrow night and then spending the rest of my time doing a purge in my home. Gotta get ready to put the house on the market if I lose my job So....purge first...then a couple of repainting tasks and installing some trim I never reinstalled after doing some work a couple years ago. *sigh*...I love my house, but if I lose my job, my mortgage would be 3/4 of my unemployment check...things around here just aren't good so I'm not optimistic about finding work right away.

                      Food for today...well I'm working from home, so the options are endless. I started with a taco omlet for breakfast, lunch or dinner will be a broccoli beef alfredo cassarole...and then I'll figure out something for the remaining meal. I have access to my celery and cream cheese snacks...so I'm all set. Water should be a slam dunk.

                      So that's me in a nutshell for today. Hope everyone has a fantastic, low carb, high energy, motivated weekend!

                      Successfully did Atkins in 1998 using 1992 copy of the book...before it was "hip". Lost 60lbs, exercised daily, felt and looked great. And then I moved in with a junk-food loving man, my mom got sick and passed away, then I suffered a spinal cord injury, and junk-food dude left me...and now I weigh 292lbs. That's 22lbs MORE than I weighed the first time around. It's 10 years later...I know this will work for me again.

                        TGIF! I can't wait for this work week to be over! I have to go to the grocery store to stock up on food, I'm out of mixed salad veggies, and I need to get more eggs and bacon.

                        I can't wait to do my official weigh in on Monday. I am also excited because for Memorial Day I'm going to visit my hubby in TX! I hope that I lose a few more lbs, I'd like to not be in the overwieght category by the time I see him! Still on plan, haven't fallen off the wagon so far!

                            Enjoying my chicken salad and greens, so I thought I would pop in during lunch and say hi.

                            I'm feeling great....I did, however, just hear my tummy rumble and I now remember how my induction flu started the first time. Oh well. It won't last long.

                              Morning Everyone!

                              Even though I've had 2 work weeks from the extremely hot place (like others... must be in the stars 'cause I'm hearing lots of complaints!!) I've stayed on plan through the stress and termoil... and it's paid off because I weighed in at 191 this morning!! Of course that number could be 192 tomorrow, but I'm not worried... 191 is here and before you know it I'll be 190, my next mini-goal, and well on my way to 189!!

                              I feel pretty damn great!
                              Oh... and 191 means that I've officially lost a total of 40 pounds since starting plan on January 1st!! To quote Becki "WoooHooo!!"

                              I think I'm going to have hubby take some current pics - then I'll post my start pics with my current pics and see if we (you wonderful STAC supporters and I) can see the difference You know... it's all about the photo... when I look in the mirror I like what I'm seeing, but to see the comparison between now and then will definitely energize me even more! So... watch for that!

                              EV = Great advise on the pot-luck/buffet... I especially like the part where you said that Ozlover could come to roll call tomorrow bragging about her successes!! Perfect

                              Julie = So too bad about your hubby needing dental surgery. If there's one thing I can't stand it's anything to do with the dentist! It never used to be a problem - in fact I once had to have serious oral surgery (wired shut for a few weeks) - but I find that the older I get the less tollerant I am of the cleaning, drilling, poking... argh! I'm shuddering just writing about it!! Don't listen to me... I'm positive your husband will do well and he'll be so glad to have the pain go away permanently!! Sounds like you're donig well on plan, by the way... hope you'll get out for a few of your great hikes this weekend, rain or shine!

                              Kelly = I chuckled when I read your post! I found myself imagining you at the previous appointment making sure there was a standing order in your file that you are NOT to be weighed in the afternoons. I'll bet you left an impression!

                              Bright = Going to visit your hubby is great motivation! Looking forward to hearing about your official weigh-in on Monday!

                              Becki = I'm so sorry to hear that you have to put your place on the market. If you need some direction for staging your place PM me. I can give you my e-mail and you can send me some pics to look over/comment on. In today's market it's all about those first impressions - and those first impressions often come via the on-line MLS listings. You gotta make your place look good! I'm so happy to hear that you're in ketosis and fully back on plan again... excellent for you!! Enjoy your workout with your personal trainer tomorrow!!
